1965 Ford Mustang Fastback on 2040-cars
Fort Stewart, Georgia, United States
The Car restoration was done 2 years ago and garage kept since with less than 60 miles since restoration. I disassembled
the car and had the body soda blasted back to bare metal. Less than a pint of body filler was used. Painted with
DuPont Chromamax base and 4 coats of DuPont clear. All chrome on the car was replaced new. The original hood was
replaced with a steel/fiberglass GT350 hood and side scoops added. Added the factory fog lights in the grille with
the factory switch in dash. All new weatherstripping and rubber. New windshield. Stripes were painted Guardsman
Blue using stencil kit for accurate size and placement. All new lights and lenses. The interior was replaced with
new seats, door panels, and carpet. Has fold down rear seat. I replaced the rear seat trap door with one which
holds 6x9 MB Quart speakers. Has new kick panels which holds MB Quart speakers as well. Has Kenwood stereo which
I had planned on replacing with Bluetooth retro sounds. Has new console with Hurst shifter and knob. Has factory
a/c which was working before restoration. Never hooked hoses back up after engine was replaced. The factory 289
was replaced with a new 347 stroker and transmission replaced with a T5 manual. I do still have the perfect
running 289 and trans that was removed. Has Holley 650 double pumper carb. Engine has Shelby dress up kit. Very
strong running! New aluminum radiator. New Flowmaster exhaust which sounds tough. Has new fuel tank and sending
unit. All gauges it the car works perfectly. I added an oil pressure and temp gauge also which is tucked under
the dash somewhat hidden.

2014 Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Ford Mustang
Mon, 01 Jul 2013If you're a fan of Ford racing history, a Mustang worshiper or even just an avid follower of our yearly SEMA coverage, you may have heard the back story on the Race Red Mustang you see above. Back in 1964, Holman & Moody was tapped by the English Alan Mann Racing Team to race-prep three Mustangs for competition in the incredibly arduous 4,000-mile Tour de France Automobile rally. Competing mainly against Jaguar MkII saloons over 10 days and 17 stages, the H&M Mustangs took the top two places in the Touring class and the first-ever racing win for Ford's pony car.
Though the history of that first Mustang win hasn't been incredibly well known here in the States, the subsequent decades have seen plenty of racy versions of the car come and go. Last year at the SEMA show, we covered the brief debut of this living tribute to that piece of racing lore, the Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Mustang.
This limited-edition Mustang represents a kind of new venture for H&M, as the legendary racing shop has spent the last few decades earning its keep largely by restoring vintage racing cars. The urge to get back into the world of Ford and Mustang was powerful, however, what with the car's 50th anniversary looming and the current generation of 'Stang just about out the door.
Ford C-Max sales hold steady despite fuel economy fracas
Mon, 09 Sep 2013Despite the ballyhoo that accompanied Ford's lowering of the C-Max fuel economy figures, the Blue Oval is still seeing strong demand for the five-seat MPV, as Automotive News reports. Speaking to marketing boss Jim Farley, AN says that the controversy surrounding the C-Max's fuel economy figures won't force Ford to change its marketing strategy.
Ford lowered the fuel economy rating of the C-Max after public outcry and legal action by customers that were unable to reach the 47 miles per gallon promised by the window sticker. The new ratings were dropped about a month ago to 45 mpg on the freeway and 40 mpg in the city. Ford offered rebates for current C-Max owners, with $550 going to those that bought their car and $325 to lessees. The issue, says Ford, stemmed from testing standards that allowed the automaker to base the C-Max's fuel economy on the Fusion Hybrid, because they use identical powertrains. The C-Max's less aerodynamic shape wasn't taken into account, though.
Whether Ford's PR team handled the crises perfectly or people just aren't that bothered by a four-mpg drop in combined ratings, demand remains strong for the C-Max among consumers. Ford moved 3,000 units in August, which was a 12-percent jump over July sales. Meanwhile, consumer demand through third-party shopping websites remains strong as well, according to Autometrics, a data analysis company that spoke with Automotive News. While the long-term effects of the adjustments remain unknown, the C-Max appears to have fared well in the near term.
Ladies Love It: Ford Fiesta wins Womens World Car of the Year
Thu, 25 Jul 2013It's official: A panel of female automotive writers has chosen the Ford Fiesta 1.0-liter EcoBoost as the Womens World Car of the Year, and it beat tough competition like the Mazda CX-5, Range Rover and Porsche Boxster S for the overall top spot.
The CX-5 and Range Rover won the SUV and Luxury Car categories, respectively, and the Boxster S laid claim to the Sports Car category, beating the runner up Audi RS5 and third place Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ (or Scion FR-S). The Audi Allroad was named the Family car of the year.
The panel consisted of 18 female automotive writers from around the world tasked with picking the best car in each of eight categories, including top vehicle overall, using criteria that women utilize when shopping for a car. That includes safety, value-for-money, aesthetic appearance, storage space, child-friendliness, ease-of-driving, color, sex appeal and environmental footprint.
