Ford 1923 Ford Model T T Bucket Old School Build Clear 1923 T Title No Reserve on 2040-cars
Saint Michael, Minnesota, United States
Up for auction is my 1923 Ford T-Bucket. It is older build and is showing it's age. The fiberglass shell has a few areas of damage that will need some attention whenever you get around to it. They are not really visible, but if you look at the back where the trunk is you may be able to see them. The windshield post appears to be original to a 23 T and the glass is break free. Side steps for ease of getting in and a Cassette player with 4 speakers that are of no use when the vehicle is started. Break lights, headlights, blinkers and tail lights work as they should. There is also a working wiper arm as shown, but of no use. Solid frame and there is disc brakes on the front and drum brakes with a 9" Ford rear-end in the rear. The motor is either a 327 or 350 Chevy with Camel Back heads, an over size cam ( specs unknown ) and a Edelbrock 6-pack manifold with adjustable electronic fuel pump. There is no choke so it is very cold blooded when started until slightly warmed up. The carbs could use adjustment, I could not find any-one local to tune them, so they will need some adjustment or rebuilds. There is an electronic ignition installed with a 50,000 volt coil. The engine is loud due to no baffles in the exhaust and has a very severe cam loop to it, Electronic fan installed, but I had never used it yet and have done a few parades. The transmission I am unsure of, but I would probably guess a turbo-350. The front seal has a very small leak to it when sitting for a few days. The car is a good driver with new plugs, electronic ignition, oil change and new plug wires. I am sure I forgot something, but email me and I can answer any questions. I do work until 7:00 PM and answer emails after that. The car runs down the road good, is very loud and still draws plenty of looks. Maybe due to the vehicle, or the un-baffled exhaust. Personally I am a Ford guy and if it does not sell I will pull the Chevy motor and trans out sell it and install a Ford motor in it. Just my preference. THE VEHICLE IS SOLD AS IS WHERE IS WITH NO WARRENTY APPLIED. Buyer is responsible for picking up the car or arranging for shipping. I will accept PayPal, Cashiers check along with cash as payment methods. All payment method beside cash will need to clear the bank before the car is released. Please email with any questions. I will need a $500.00 deposit via PayPal within 3 days of auction ending and payment if full within 10 days of auction ending. I can store the car for a couple of weeks while transport is arranged. |

GM readying aluminum-body fullsize pickups
Wed, 19 Feb 2014Ford's extensive use of aluminum in its 2015 F-150 is a big deal. A really big deal. Big enough, in fact, that General Motors is reportedly changing its fullsize pickup strategy. According to The Wall Street Journal, The General has locked in partnerships with Alcoa Inc. and Novelis Inc. - companies that will supply aluminum for the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks.
"Ford's introduction of the 2015 F-150 pickup truck was a game changer, and it's the first, not the last, conversion of this type," Novelis spokesperson Charles Belbin told the Journal. The switch to aluminum has allowed Ford to shave roughly 700 pounds off its fullsize truck's curb weight. And while official mileage ratings have not been announced, the weight loss should go a long way for improving efficiency, especially when combined other efficiency-minded improvements including better aerodynamics and new, turbocharged V6 engines.
Of course, aluminum-bodied cars are nothing new. But extensive use of aluminum in a major, best-selling product like the Ford F-150 is expected to kick off widespread use of this weight-saving material as availability rises and cost decreases. The WSJ reports that GM had originally explored the idea of moving to aluminum pickups back in 2008, but abandoned the idea due to cost concerns amid economic woes.
Foreign automakers pay from $38 to $65 per hour to non-union workers
Sun, Mar 29 2015As leaders for the United Auto Workers gather in Detroit for their Special Convention on Collective Bargaining to work out the negotiating stance for this year's new labor agreements with the Detroit 3 automakers, what they most want to do is figure out how to eliminate the two-tier wage scale. However, the lower Tier 2 wage has allowed the domestic automakers to reduce their labor costs, hire more workers, and compete better with their import competition. As it stands, per-hour labor rates including benefits are $58 at General Motors, $57 at Ford, and $48 at Fiat-Chrysler – a reflection of FCA's much greater number of Tier 2 workers. The Center for Automotive Research released a study of labor rates (including benefits) that put numbers to what the imports pay: Mercedes-Benz pays the most, at an average of $65 per hour, Volkswagen pays the least, at $38 per hour, and BMW is just a hair above that at $39 per hour. Among the Detroit competitors, Honda workers earn an average of $49 per hour, at Toyota it's $48 per hour, Nissan is $42 per hour, and Hyundai-Kia pays $41 per hour. The lower import wages are aided by their greater use of temporary workers compared to the domestics. Automotive News says the ten-dollar gap between those foreign camakers and the domestics turns out to about an extra $250 per car in labor, which adds up quickly when you're pumping out many millions of cars. That $250-per-car number is one that, come negotiating time, the Detroit 3 will want to reduce, as the UAW is trying to raise both Tier 1 and Tier 2 wages. Another wrinkle is that the domestic carmakers are considering the wide adoption of a third wage level lower than Tier 2. Some workers who do minor tasks like assembling parts trays kits and battery packs already make less than Tier 2, but the UAW will be quite wary about cementing yet another wage scale at the bottom of the system while it's trying to fight a bigger battle at the top. Here are 12 electric pickups in the works
Wed, Oct 21 2020With the unveiling of the GMC Hummer EV, the list of planned electric pickups is expanding. Legacy automakers like Ford and Chevy have theirs coming, as do startups like Tesla, Rivian and Bollinger, as well as some lesser known brands. Here are all the electric pickup trucks we know to be in the works, along with a few that are being discussed or mulled over. The GMC Hummer EV comes out swinging with 1,000 horsepower from GMÂ’s new Ultium electric powertrain program, a wealth of off-road features, a removable roof, Super Cruise and the revival of the Hummer name. WeÂ’ll see the first ones on the road next fall. Tesla Cybertruck Tesla Cybertruck at the Petersen Museum View 14 Photos Tesla revealed the Cybertruck last year with, ahem, unique styling, a number of powertrain options and a claimed range of up to 500 miles. It has a compressed paper dash, a ramp for the bed, and “shatterproof” windows. It has already racked up hundreds of thousands of reservations. It will be built in Texas. Rivian R1T 2021 Rivian R1T View 15 Photos EV startup Rivian revealed its R1T electric pickup toward the end of 2018 with a claimed 0-60 time of 3 seconds and a towing capability of 11,000 pounds. Bollinger Motors B2 Bollinger Motors B2 side outdoors View 31 Photos BollingerÂ’s B2 electric pickup is a Class 3 off-roader with retro styling, removable roof panels, and a unique “frunkgate” with a pass-through down the center of the vehicle. It was created with both enthusiasts and workers in mind, with features that can get it to remote places (portal axles, hydro-pneumatic suspension) and to get things done (room for 40 2x4s, equipped with eight 110-volt outlets and one 220-volt outlet). Bollinger also plans to make the B2 Chassis Cab available for fleet customization. Ford F-150 Electric Electric Ford F-150 Towing View 9 Photos WeÂ’ve known this to be in the works since early 2019. Since then, details have trickled out. Back in June, Ford announced its F-150 Electric would be coming within two years. WeÂ’ve seen it pull a million pounds worth of train and trucks, heard it will have more power than any other F-150, and seen its LED-laden front end.
