This is a 1923 Track "T" Roadster (T Bucket). This car was built in the late 60's. The body is fiberglass, turtle deck trunk lid has 49' Ford hinges and an early lockable VW handle. DP80 Gray primer, mirror image red and white pin striping done by the World Famous artist Lyle Fisk. Bench seat is covered with a Mexican serape blanket material. grey carpets, sprint car style steering wheel, lime works turn signal, taneau cover, aluminum dash board with early style Stewart Warner gauges. It's also equipped with an early quick change rear end, new battery and battery quick disconnect, aluminum firewall, 6" dropped Bell front axle, split wishbones in front and rear '41 Chevy tail lights with blue dots, '40 Ford brakes, 153 cubic inch Chevy 4 cylinder (early Nova), with a mild hop up, aluminum racing dress ups. The carburetor is a two barrel Holly, Riley type valve cover, side header wrapped in heat tape, 4 speed T-10, lower windshield frame, "T" side mirrors, big and little tires and wheels, apple green solid wheels (early style Ford 5 wide bolt pattern), Ford hubcaps, front leaf spring, rear coil over shocks, front sway bar, rear panard bar. This is one of many vehicles we have inherited and are trying to liquidating from the estate. All the info listed was taken from the original ad that we found with the car. I have driven this vehicle once for a very short drive in our neighborhood but I will answer all questions honestly and to the best of my ability. The two problems I found with it while driving were, the brakes are pretty spongy and it would pop out of second if I went over a bump. I am not sure if this is due to linkage adjustment, the shifter being close to the seat or something else.

Ford Fusion production scaled back just 3 months after it was accelerated

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

Three months after kicking off production of the Ford Fusion at its Flat Rock, MI factory, Ford Motor Company is taking steps to trim output in the face of heavily discounted competition from Toyota and a growing supply of vehicles.
The addition of Fusion production in Flat Rock - which also builds the Mustang - was meant to be what pushed the handsome mid-sizer past its arch-nemesis, the Toyota Camry. An extra facility building Fusions was also meant to curb the growing demand for Ford's highly profitable sedan.
But with word that Flat Rock would take "approximately" one extra week off for the holidays combined with an 88-day supply of Fusions - reportedly due in no small part to what Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas called "aggressive discounting of the Camry" - some analysts are now beginning to wonder if Ford may have overextended itself by adding a second Fusion facility to the mix.

Amelia Island 2013: 50 years of the Ferrari-slaying Ford GT40

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Originally developed with the sole purpose of being a Ferrari rival to compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Ford GT40 became a prominent racing machine in the 1960s in both Europe and the US. Not wanting to leave such an important car out of the fun, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance also took time out from its other celebrations to recognize the 50-year anniversary of the GT40.
Over its short lifespan, the GT40 was offered in a handful of configurations, but the classic short-tailed (Mk I and Mk II) bodystyles were well represented... especially in Gulf livery. James Glickenhaus (of Ferrari P4/5 fame) had his bright yellow Mk IV in the field, and there were several others in this bodystyle, including one that has seen plenty of time on the track judging by its chipped-up nose.
As a fitting statement for the car's lengthy racing history, GT40 Chassis Number 1075 won this year's Concours de Sport award. This car took home the checkered flag at Le Mans in 1968 and 1969, and racked up a total of six wins in just 11 races.

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).
