1923 Ford T-bucket Custom Street Rod on 2040-cars
Round Rock, Texas, United States
This beautiful T-bucket is amazing to drive, very fast and gets tons of attention. Like any street rod that's driven, this one isn't perfect. It is very good though, and it wouldn't take much to bring her up to show condition. Unfortunately, I'm losing the use of my garage, and that's forcing me to put this super-fun car up for sale.
The motor is a pre-Vortec 350 Chevy crate motor with a mild street cam. It's been assembled with a Weiand 8004 intake, Edelbrock 1406, Edelbrock Pro-Flo air filter, Holley mechanical fuel pump, Holley regulator and Flame Thrower HEI. The transmission is a TH400 professionally rebuilt by Eagle Transmission just last year. The rear end is a Ford 8" with 2.79 gears. The shifter and parking brake are Lokar. In addition to the transmission, the following items were installed/replaced within the last 12 months:
Bugs: This car is equipped with Intellitronix digital gauges. They all work fine except the speedometer, which sometimes indicates a few MPH when the car is standing still with the motor running. I have also seen the speedometer black out once in a while. I suspect this is due to a loose ground somewhere, but haven't had time to look into it. The gauge manufacturer is still in business if you need support, or the entire cluster could simply be replaced or updated. This car has a clear Texas title as a 1923 Ford Roadster. State inspection and registration were recently renewed.
Pickup and transport of the vehicle and all associated costs are the buyer's responsibility. The vehicle must be picked up not later than 30 days (including weekends and holidays) following close of the auction. I will be available as needed to accommodate shipper schedules and to monitor loading and securing of the vehicle. I will not be liable for damage to, nor damage caused by the vehicle after the buyer or buyer's shipper or authorized agent takes possession. Payment: I require a $200 non-refundable deposit by PayPal within 24 hrs of purchase. The balance must be paid within 7 business days. Acceptable forms of payment for the balance include Cashier's Checks, USPS Money Orders, Wire Transfer and Cash. I do not accept personal checks. The vehicle will be released to the buyer only after all funds due in payment have been verified. Contact: eBay messaging is preferred for all routine contact regarding the auction. If the auction is closing and you have an urgent question or concern, you can reach me at 512-739-7932. If I am unable to answer immediately, please leave a voice mail and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible. NO TEXT MESSAGES. Thanks! Thanks for keeping us on our toes, Detroit Auto Show [w/poll]
Wed, Jan 14 2015Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us. To that end, borrowing the words of an unnamed automaker PR flack, we'd like to thank the following automakers for enduring "mountain of antacids" and that "creeping sense of paranoia" necessary to keeping ones' wares totally under wraps until the sheets are pulled off the sheetmetal: Buick Avenir concept Chevrolet Bolt concept Ford GT concept Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Hyundai HCD-15 Santa Cruz concept And while we're at it, we'd like to throw in an shout-out to Detroit's substantially revised and revitalized Cobo Center, and in particular, the redone Michelin media center, which is arguably the single best accommodations for writing show stories that we've encountered on the entire international circuit. Well done, everyone. Thank you, and keep the surprises coming. Auto News Detroit Auto Show Buick Chevrolet Ford Hyundai Volvo 2015 Detroit Auto Show
Hennessey unleashes 2015 HPE700 supercharged Ford Mustang
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Thanks to the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat there is a new magic number in the muscle car world - 707. To raise eyebrows these days in the power war, a vehicle needs to match or preferably exceed that palindromic figure. The tuners over at Hennessey took a look at it for their 2015 HPE700 Mustang and decided to go one better. Well, ten actually, because they bestowed their latest creation with 717 horsepower and 632 pound-feet of torque.
The HPE 700 Mustang takes the standard Mustang GT with its 5.0-liter V8 and turns up the power a few hundred notches with a Roots-type supercharger running at 7.25 psi. Hennessey claims that this boosted 'Stang can rocket to 60 miles per hour in about 3.6 seconds and cover the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph. For those keeping score at home, those figures are very similar to Challenger Hellcat.
To cope with all of the added boost, the engine gets a high-flow throttle body, upgraded injectors, new fuel pump, stainless steel exhaust and Hennessey's calibration for the engine management. Pricing for the package is $59,500, including the base 2015 Mustang GT, but the company is limiting production to 500 units for the 2015 model year. Founder John Hennessey told Autoblog that he has already received about a dozen orders for them.
Ford Tourneo ready for duty in Connect, Courier and Custom flavors [w/videos]
Wed, 06 Mar 2013Ford was relatively quiet at the Geneva Motor Show, but it did take the opportunity to roll out its new family of Tourneo vans: the Courier, Connect, Grand Connect and Custom. As the passenger version of the Transit cargo vans, the new range of Tourneo models vary from the B-segment Courier up to the fullsize Custom. The Connect and Grand Connect are based on the redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect.
With an overall length just three inches longer than the Fiesta hatchback, the Tourneo Courier seats four to five passengers, and it offers a choice of three engines: the 1.0-liter EcoBoost or two small diesels. Like the 2014 Transit Connect was saw in Paris last year, the Tourneo Connect comes in a five-seat configuration while the Grand Connect can seat seven. Finally, the Tourneo Custom seats up to nine passengers, and it is available in two lengths up to 210 inches long putting it just six inches shorter than a standard-length E-Series van and about a foot longer than the Explorer.
