Hello and thank you for looking at this BEAUTIFUL piece of American history. Up for auction is a fully restored 1926 Ford Model T Roadster Pickup. I acquired this vehicle a few months ago. I picked it up so I could park it next to my late grandfather's 1930 Model A that was handed down to me. They look excellent together however, I never drive this truck and I hate seeing it sit and collect dust. It is time to find a home that will love her more than I will.
I will admit, I do not know much about Model T's so please bear with me. I will tell you what I know about it and if you have any further questions, please ask them. I will post all questions and answers so that everyone else can see them.
The gentleman that I received this truck from bought it from the guy who had it restored. As you can see in the pictures, they did a FULL restoration. Nothing was skimped on. I was told that the engine and transmission were gone through during the time of restoration. Yes, of course it runs. I start it once in a while and let if run for a minute or two. I have only drove it ONCE. I drove it down the street and back. I was very nervous on driving such a piece of art and not being too familiar with the controls.
I personally would rate this trucks condition a 9 out of 10. The reasoning for that is there is a very small ding by the license plate (pictured). There is also a lil scratch here and there too. Trust me, it is one of the cleanest vehicles that I have seen. It is ALL STEEL. No fiberglass. I went through the truck extensively and I could not find any dents or places where body work has been performed. NO BONDO.
It does have electric start with a newer 6 volt battery. As far as I know, all the lights work. The top folds down perfectly. Glass is perfect. Has stock carburetor on it that has been rebuilt by some company on the internet. All of the fenders have been undercoated (pictured). If you look at the pictures you will notice that even underneath the body was painted.
All the wheels and tires look in great shape. It steered down the road perfectly for me. Brakes seemed to be great. I had no complaints about how it handled. Both doors close and open perfectly. Who ever restored this truck did it correctly and spared no expense. It does have a clear California title and is currently registered. It is titled as a 1921 for some reason though. I can not tell you why.  It will come with a couple older manuals for model T's. They look like they are from the 50's.
I believe I have covered everything that I know about this BEAUTIFUL truck. It has always been covered and stored indoors. I do not require a paypal deposit. I do however, require the auction's balance to be paid in full within 7 days of the auction's end in the form of a certified check from a bank that is located across the country such as Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc, etc. I do this because I have a small town bank and it will take a week to clear payment otherwise. I can clear the certified check immediately and overnight you the title. The shipping is up to the winner of the auction. I will assist the shippers in loading the truck and take pictures of the process. If you need to store the truck here for some time, I have no problem with that. Please look at all of the pictures and ask all questions prior to bidding. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK!!

White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.

Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.

Is that the Ford GT Le Mans racer in the background of this Forza video?

Mon, Jan 26 2015

Shortly after the reveal of the new Ford GT in Detroit a couple of weeks ago, Microsoft announced that it was putting the new American supercar on the cover of the upcoming sixth installment of the Forza Motorsport video game series. Now it has put out a video of the process of digitizing Dearborn's latest. Whether you're into Detroit steel (or carbon fiber and aluminum in this case), exotic supercars or video games, the video is worth a watch in and of itself. But our eyes were focused on something else. In the background of one shot (around the 1:49 mark) you can see a design board with renderings of what looks to be the rumored racing version of the GT – complete with reshaped air intakes, deeper side sills, a bigger rear wing and a central rear fin like you'd find on the latest LMP1 racing prototypes. It wouldn't be the first time we've caught wind of the prospect of the Blue Oval's new supercar going racing. We first heard of the plans last October, further reinforced in December with reports of the new GT coming to Detroit. And as we reported just a couple of weeks ago following the supercar's reveal, a return to Le Mans could be in the cards – which would be fortuitous timing, since next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the original GT40 scoring its landmark 1-2-3 finish in the 24-hour race.
