THIS IS A 1932 FORD LOWBOY. LOTS OF MONEY SPENT ON THIS BUILD. FIBERGLASS BODY WITH ROUND-TUBE CHASSIS - POSSIBLY BUILT BY SPEEDWAY. POWERED BY SMALL BLOCK CHEVY 350 CRATE ENGINE WITH DUAL QUAD - VERY MILD AND RELIABLE WITH LOTS OF TORQUE, THE CAR IS FITTED WITH A COMPLETE STAINLESS EXHAUST SYSTEM ALL THE WAY TO THE REAR OF THE CAR, 3 SPEED AUTO TRANS, FORD 9IN REAR SET UP WITH HIGHWAY GEARS WITH ELLIPTICAL REAR SPRINGS. THIS REAR HOUSING AND AXLE ASSEMBLY WAS PURCHASED FROM SPEEDWAY, NEW.  THE FRONT HAS TRANSVERSE LEAF SPRING. THE CAR HAS 4 WHEEL DISC BRAKES, FULL INSTRUMENTATION, CD PLAYER AND A FINISHED INTERIOR AND TRUNK. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND HAVE DRIVEN IT ON SEVERAL 4-500 MILE TRIPS WITH NO ISSUES. THERE IS A HOOD WITH THE CAR BUT IT NEEDS TO BE PAINTED AND FITTED. THE CAR HAS AMERICAN RACING TORQUE THRUST D WHEELS AND BFGOODRICH TIRES.

THIS CAR CAME TO ME ALREADY BUILT, THE ONLY THING THAT I CHANGED WAS THE REAR END HOUSING. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR, IT HAD COME FROM AN INSURANCE AUCTION - THE LEFT REAR TIRE WAS FLAT AND THE REAR HOUSING WAS BENT. I SAW NO DAMAGE ANYWHERE ELSE. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THAT IT WAS A RUNNING CAR. I HAD THE REPAIRS MADE, THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AND WAS ISSUED A REBUILT FLORIDA TITLE. THIS CAR WAS BUILT IN CALIFORNIA AND THATS WHERE IT REMAINED UNTIL I PURCHASED IT.

THIS WAS A VERY PROFESSIONAL BUILD CALIFORNIA STYLE LOWBOY, FRAME AND SOME SUSPENSION PARTS WERE PAINTED BODY COLOR. THINGS LIKE STAINLESS EXHAUST AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN THE TRUNK AND INTERIOR ALONG WITH THE FACT THAT EVERYTHING INVOLVING THE BUILD MORE THAN LIKELY WAS PURCHASED NEW AT THE TIME OF ASSEMBLY.

THE ONE THING THAT I HAVE NEVER ADDRESSED IS THE BACK OF THE CAR HAS A SLIGHT LEAN TO THE LEFT - NOT SURE WHY. BUT I HAVE HAD THE CAR AT OVER 100 MPH SEVERAL TIMES AND IT IS AS STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW. I HAVE SEVERAL HOTRODS AND COLLECTOR CARS IN MY COLLECTION AND THIS CAR HAS BEEN A LOT OF FUN. TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES AND FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS.

Lincoln Nautilus, Ford Edge latest prediction: Production ends in July 2024

Thu, Aug 20 2020

In June, Auto Forecast Solutions put out a report compiled by its vice president of global forecasting, Sam Fiorani. One item in the report covered how Fiorani had heard from "multiple sources" that Ford shut down the program to replace the Edge crossover in 2023. Assuming this came to pass, with the Lincoln Nautilus based on the Edge, the inference is that the Nautilus would retire at or around the same time. Ford's response to media queries about the report was either "No comment" or PR-speak deflection. Lincoln's statement on the matter to Motor1, a crafty non-answer, was, "The Nautilus plays and will continue to play an important role in Lincoln’s growing SUV portfolio which includes the Corsair, Aviator and Navigator. Lincoln is investing in growth segments like SUVs and we have no plans to exit the segment." It's possible Lincoln has no plans to leave the segment, but the Nautilus might, according to a fresh, unsourced report in Ford Authority. The site claims the Nautilus will end production at the Oakville Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada, in July 2024.  Again, we can't know how much, if any of this, is true. But we're zeroing in on a timeline for the potential end of the Edge and Nautilus in the U.S. Those are the only two products Oakville currently builds, and when the Canadian union Unifor asked Ford about the reports in June, Ford couldn't offer union reps anything concrete or reassuring. The Detroit News quoted Unifor chief Jerry Dias as saying of the automaker, "There is no question, they are going through a major evaluation of their portfolio, based on a whole host of things."   We could be seeing one of the earlier theories for Edge's potential demise coming true. Some analysts suspect Ford could be pruning its crossover lineup because it has too many similarly-sized offerings at the moment, the Edge hasn't met its sales targets in Europe, and more compact crossovers are on the way that could bring better street cred if they're associated with the Bronco or Bronco Sport. Unifor and Ford are now in negotiations over a new contract, so it's possible we'll get more clarity in the next month or so about Ford's plans and what will come of Oakville and its roughly 4,000 workers. If Ford walks away from the assembly plant, it will only have two engine plants left in Canada, and no vehicle assembly north of the border for the first time in about a century.

Ken Block ain't got a care about ruining his wheels

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

During a drifting session at Irwindale Speedway in California, Ken Block made a boo-boo that would send a number of drivers immediately back to the infield. But there's an answer to "What do you do when you bash the wall while drifting and your wheel explodes?" and there's completely different answer when the question begins with the phrase, "When you're Ken Block..."
Instead of us telling you how Block handled the calamity in his Ford Fiesta competition car, you can watch it happen in the video below. You can probably also guess what it is - but it's more fun to watch.

2015 F-150 kick-starts Ford sales

Wed, Feb 4 2015

The F-150 had a middling year in 2014, and its sales dipped slightly as Ford transitioned to producing the all-new truck with an aluminum body. But with one factory humming, another on the way and a fuller stock of trucks, 2015 is already shaping up to be a different story. The F-Series posted a 17-percent leap in January, helping to push Ford sales to a 15-percent gain for the month. The F-Series had its best January performance in 11 years with sales of 54,370 trucks last month. Much of this strength comes from the new generation of the F-150. While many of the old model are still being sold off, Ford is rolling out the new version. Just five percent of the F-150's retail sales were the new truck in December, but it was up to 18 percent in January. The increase comes as the first factory that makes the truck, Ford's Dearborn facility, is fully back online. The other F-150 factory, in Kansas City, is still completing its changeover to build the aluminum-bodied truck, and that's expected to be finished in the first quarter of this year. Sales of the truck will still be "tempered a bit" until the Kansas City plant ramps up, Ford sales analyst Erich Merkle said. Ford expects to have a full inventory of F-150s by mid-year. To that end, the company announced plans on Wednesday to add 1,550 jobs to support the F-150, including 900 positions at the Kansas City factory. The remaining jobs will be spread out over sites in metro Detroit. The Dearborn and Kansas City factories collectively will be able to build more than 700,000 F-150s annually. The added headcount also means Ford has reached the maximum number of entry-level workers allowed under its pact with the United Auto Workers. About 300 to 500 employees at several plants in the Midwest will transition to a higher pay rate, and their wages will rise from $19.28 an hour to $28.50 an hour. The F-Series was Ford's hottest seller in January, moving off lots in an average of 12 days. The high-end models, the King Ranch and the Platinum versions, are moving slightly quicker. The average transaction price is also up $2,100 for the F-150 compared to January 2014. "We're really pleased with how the new one is doing on dealer lots," Merkle said. A larger stock of F-150s will allow Ford and its rivals to capitalize on low fuel prices, which have slowed consumers' interest in smaller vehicles.
