Denver, Colorado, United States

Engine is a 1965 Buick 401 Nailhead fitted with progressive Rochester 2gc tri power.  (Center carb line is a little twisted from a roadside repair but is not restrictive on the fuel).   Donner car had 69,000 miles on the odometer when
I purchased it. Did no internal work other than new timing chain, new gaskets 15,000 miles ago.  Still runs strong and smooth.
Stock distributer fitted with Pertronix ignition.
Finned valley cover, valve covers, and plug wire covers.
Custom made Lake style headers fitted with 4" stainless turnouts.  Headers are also fitted with real mufflers not sheet metal and holes.
Engine is also cool assisted with electric push fan on a switch located under the dash.  Only needed to use it during hot days stuck in traffic.  Water pump has universal 6 blade fan that works great.
Transmission is a TH400, also from the same doner car.
Driveshaft was fitted with a conversion u-joint to fit the 1967 Ford Mustang 8" rear end with stock highway gears.  (we often drive on the highway around 65 m.p.h. just fine)
Mustang steering box
Traditional buggy spring suspension with reverse eye front leaf and 4" drop I-beam axle.
Frame is a stock model a, boxed, z'd in the front 4" and stepped 16" in the rear with custom made cross member. Split bone and traditional buggy spring suspension.
ALL frame work done with T.I.G welds.
Brakes: Chrome 1965 Chevelle master cylinder, 1956 Ford pickup front drum brakes, 1967 Ford Mustang rear drum brakes.  Never had an issue with stopping.
Also has fully functional emergency brake.
Body is nicely chopped 3 1/2".  NOT channeled.  All new lower patch panels were replaced during build as well as the wood kit.
Top was fitted with the roof from the 1965 doner car.  All sheet metal and chop work was T.I.G. welded.
Front grill shell is a 1934 Ford Commercial Truck grill fitted with custom insert with Pontiac Starchief star emblems.
Radiator is newer 4 core with the original tanks with no leaks.
Real Guide 682-c headlights.
Tail lights are from a 1949 Hudson shaved down to fit with the rear panel.  Tail lights, brake light and headlights are functional.  Also has dash switch working interior dome light.

Custom made stainless steel brake and gas pedal.
Custom made step drilled stainless shifter with tiki head shift knob.
Interior is not finished but has mildly worn black carpet and blanket seat cover.
The metal seat wrap was the rear seat from a 1934 Chevrolet sedan sectioned to fit the coupe.
Seat cushion were fitted from newer van seat foam.   Moon lap belts installed and tuck nicely behind the seat cushion when not in use.
1934 International dash fitted with BEEDE 5" speedo and cluster gauge.
CD player is hidden under the dash on the passenger side in a custom hinge that latches with an old seat belt latch
to keep it neat and clean at the shows but still have some tunes.
6" mid range speakers in the cab and 8" sub in the trunk.
Custom made 15 gallon gas tank mounted behind the seat with the filler neck in the trunk.  Tank also fitted with vent and roll over valve.
Red top battery mounted in the trunk still as dependable as it was 15k miles ago.
Tires are newer (about 200 miles on them) Firestone 8.20 - 15 and the fronts are Firestone 5.60 - 15.  Front need to be replaced.
Note: if auction goes over 15k for the selling price I will put brand new tires on the front before shipping the vehicle.

Here's the bad:  Took some rocks on the visor driving on the highway that cracked the paint.
Paint is older so it's not trophy winning show quality but good for a driver as it was intended.
Body has full glass with functioning door windows and the windshield slides "A/C" work great.  Windshield has very minor pitting from driving but doesn't impair view.
Note: Year of manufacturer license plate is not included in the sale.

Ask any and all questions prior to bidding.  Winning bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements and fees associated.

On Jul-10-14 at 15:22:30 PDT, seller added the following information:

Note:  I just went on a test drive with a local interest and the oil pressure sender stopped working.  I mechanically checked the oil pressure and it still shows about 40 psi.  So it will neede a new electronic sensor.

2015 Ford Mustang to offer solid-rear axle, sort of

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

One of the biggest knocks against the last Ford Mustang was its solid-rear axle. Not one to actively court criticism, Ford dutifully swapped out the old-fashioned rear end for something a bit more modern in the redesigned 2015 Mustang, adding an independent rear suspension across the board.
While an IRS Mustang is great news for those that value handling and ride comfort, there's one big group that it's bad news for - drag racers. See, a solid-rear axle is a big deal for drag racers, because not only is it more durable and cheaper, but it's better for the hard launches that can make or break a race.
To satiate this vocal demographic, Ford will sell a body-in-white version of the Stang, complete with a nine-inch rear axle, that will debut at the 2014 Performance Racing Industry show. The news came from gas2.org, which cited an unnamed employee of Ford Racing at this year's PRI show.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost

Fri, 16 May 2014

Earlier this week, Ford invited us to Charlotte, NC, to ride in an all-new 2015 Mustang fitted with its turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. It's the first forced-induction, four-cylinder ponycar for the Blue Oval since the sun set on the 1986 Mustang SVO. We jumped at the opportunity, as only a handful of people have ever been in the passenger seat of this new car, and most automotive media won't get as close as we did until this fall.
As we revealed in our Deep Dive, Ford will slot this new turbocharged four as premium powerplant between its naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V6 and the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. At last mention, the automaker said the direct-injected, all-aluminum engine will develop 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, returning the best fuel economy of the three powerplants in the process. History buffs will note that those figures are appreciably stouter than the 200 horses and 240 lb-ft that the '86 SVO realized out of the same displacement, and the latter's figures were hugely impressive at the time. On paper, the new EcoBoost four looks to be a good fit for most owners who want to balance performance with efficiency - we were eager to see how it felt from the passenger seat.

Ford Police Interceptor with 2.0L EcoBoost rated most fuel-efficient police sedan

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

Back in September, Ford announced a non-pursuit version of its Police Interceptor Sedan, which swaps out a choice of two V6 engines for a fuel-efficient 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder. This Special Service Police Sedan will be marketed to law enforcement agencies looking to cut fuel costs and don't need the extra power.
For college campuses, detectives and the like, this new police car has now been certified with EPA fuel economy estimates of 20 miles per gallon in the city, 32 mpg on the highway and a combined rating of 24 mpg. These figures represent a decrease of two mpg in city and combined ratings compared to the civilian-spec 2014 Taurus. These police cars still offer active grille shutters for better aerodynamics, although we're guessing agencies upfitting their cars with light bars and push bumpers aren't exactly concerted with aerodynamics. The true benefit of the SSP version is when it's compared against other police sedan options like the Dodge Charger, Chevy Impala, Chevy Caprice and even the V6 Police Interceptor Sedan.
Ford claims the new Police Interceptor Sedan SSP is the most fuel-efficient current option for police departments, saying that this car can save $1,720 per car over three years and almost $260,000 over the same span of time for fleets with 150 vehicles. There is an official press release posted below, and also check out the gallery of images from Ford collected from various police agencies across the US (although none show the 2.0-liter SSP model). Head on over to Ford's Police Interceptor mini-site for even more pictures of the Police Interceptor Sedan and Utility.
