I am offering for sale a 1931 Ford Model A Coupe.  This vehicle was built from the ground up. The pictures do not due the paint color full justice, as when the sun reflects the many colors of the metal flakes gives it an eye catching glimmer.  This car is not a radical street rod. It is a beautiful, well constructed, mild street rod, built for crusing, showing, and having fun in.  It looks and sounds great.  I have all the build receipts which totals in excess of $27,000.  The car was completed in 2007.  I have shown it several times and won many trophies. It has always been stored in a controlled heated/cooled garage. It has an electronic ignition, but I still have the cam driven fuel pump on it.(it works fine). The motor is a 289 Ford taken from a 1968 Mustang, it is bored .40 over, completely rebuilt by a professional.  It has a four barrel Eddelbrock carb, 650 cfm, (4 barrel Holley carb available if preferred.) The C4 transmission was professionally overhauled. Disk brakes all around.  The body is all metal with the exception of the firewall.  I installed a fiberglass firewall for heat protection. Doors: metal has slight imperfections as seen in picture.

Steering: GM tilt with elect. plug in (ididit) 32 in. long, no shifter. 1965 wood inlaid mustang steering wheel.  Rear end:  8 in. with new rack & pinion 3.25/1 gear. Front end: Mustang II.  Coil over support, (rear shock adjustment).  Magnum 500 wheels, front is 14 x 6, and rear is 15 x 8. Auto shifter:  1968 Mustand w/o consule.  Bucket seats with seat belts. Radiator: Cobra 4 core aluminum.  Wiring:  12 circuit harness.  Guages: Arctic White series, electonic 6 guages.  Gas Tank, 15 gallons.  Beautiful hand made walnut dash with cd player and rear mounted speakers. California Man Reunited 33 Years Later With Thunderbird

A California man was at a loss for words when he was reunited with his prized 1964 Ford Thunderbird on Tuesday, 33 years after it was stolen from a bar parking lot. Gary Chartrand could hardly believe how well his old Thunderbird held up in the last three decades. The odometer had only added about 1,000 miles from when he last saw the car back in the 1980s. "A few bumps and bruises but boy, not much changed," Chartrand told KOVR. Chartrand bought the car as a present to himself after finalizing his divorce from his wife of 10 years in 1981. It disappeared one night from the parking lot of a Sacramento bar where he was working. Police found Chartrand's car 750 miles north in Washington State. Will Ford's SUV blitz include the Bronco?

Ford announced this week it will add four sport-utility vehicles in the next four years, an ambitious bet on a segment the industry once shunned. This led to wild speculation about what form these utes will take. Here's what we know: They will be new nameplates, and Ford is thinking globally. That means at least one might not be a product with US intent. They will also be in segments where the company does not currently compete, Ford said. The Blue Oval isn't specifying exactly what's it's doing, so here are some of our theories. We think one will be called the Bronco, which is great news for enthusiasts. We hope it follows the Mustang playbook with some heritage styling, but a thoroughly modern execution. Ford needs an off-road Jeep Wrangler-fighter. Fuel prices are low and it's been 22 years since the infamous O.J. Simpson white Bronco chase. This is the best chance Ford will ever have to bring back this iconic name. Our man on the ground at the Chicago Auto show, Sebastian Blanco, reported that Ford sales and marketing vice president Mark LaNeve said a "mini utility" will also be one of the utes. This could be primarily an overseas play. We've also seen lots of spy shots of the EcoSport, a small crossover that Ford sells in India and other overseas markets, being tested on American roads. That is an existing nameplate. Maybe Ford adds a small ute related to the EcoSport in the United States, but calls it something else. We think Lincoln gets a three-row SUV out of the deal. It could slot between the MKX, which was new last year, and the Navigator. Lincoln is leaving money on the table by not being in this segment. The platform could be used for a Ford at some point, too. The Blue Oval brand does actually have a tweener three-row vehicle, the Flex, but this chassis might underpin a replacement. Or maybe Ford makes one of these a hybrid. The company laid out ambitious plans in December to ramp up its electrification strategy, something that could mean a dedicated hybrid SUV (Kia unveiled one of those right after LaNeve's speech in Chicago). It's also possible hybrid technology will be integrated into this new portfolio. The Escape used to have a hybrid sibling. Whatever form they ultimately take, Ford is betting heavily on SUVs. The company thinks they are what Baby Boomers and Millenials want and expects the segment will continue to grow. It's important to note: this will be a diversified strategy.

Automakers' rush on aluminum may result in shortage

Aluminum is the new buzzword in the automotive industry. The latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both take advantage of the lightweight material to shave huge amounts of body fat (only it's called "aluminium" over there). Audi and Jaguar have been using the stuff for years in their A8 and XJ, respectively, and now, aluminum is going mainstream, arriving on the 2015 Ford F-150.
While we're excited to see aluminum make an impact outside the premium market, its widespread adoption apparently won't come without some problems, notably in terms of supply. "There isn't an automotive manufacturer that makes vehicles in North America that we're not talking to," Tom Boney, of Novelis, the largest global supplier of aluminum sheetmetal, told The Detroit News.
According to Boney, Ford's use of aluminum on such a large scale has forced auto manufacturers in "every boardroom" to reconsider their plans following the F-150's unveiling, for one simple reason: there's not exactly enough aluminum to go around, at least in the short term. The auto industry presently only accounts for six percent of the aluminum sheet produced, but as the material is adopted by more and more brands, that figure is expected to swell to 25 percent within the next six years.
