Hate to do it but I have to sell my Hot Rod..Its a steel 1931 Ford Coupe. Its titled as 31 Ford, so registration and ins are a breeze. The body is chopped 4 in, channeled 3, in. Patch panels were installed in all the normal places. The roof filler is from an old 4 door car and it has the proper crown for the coupe. This car is built with almost all vintage parts that I sourced over the years .The trunk lid is fabricated from new steel. All sheet metal is 18 gauge thru the whole car. The body is in orig condition bodyworkwise and is a satin cream w red trim it has been made to look old. Engine is a fresh 350 chevy, basically stock, with early powerpack heads. The edelbrock tunnel ram is vintage , the rebuilt carbs are vintage , scoop is vintage valve covers are vintage . Its got a small base HEI and the coil is mounted inside . Headers have mufflers in the collector, and are loud but not obnoxious. You wont sneak up on anyone !! It runs awesome the car is light basically hauls ass. Rear axle was out of my 71 nova and has mild gears not posi. Rear susp is coil over ,ladder bar , panhard bar setup. The frame is stretched in front custom made zd frame heavy 2by3 steel. Front susp is early ford drilled axle, early ford truck drum brakes, split wishbones, suicide mounting. Vega box. wheels are early steelies powdercoated with brand new tires. This car has only a windshield safety glass of course, back window is a small mesh screen, There is a safety bar on gas tank to protect your neck in the event somebody hit you from behind??. it has full lites , turn signals, hazard, ooga horn , red hooker lite in cab, (glows red in car for night driving) power port for using a Garmin as a speedometer which works nicely. The steering wheel is removable as is the batt power key on dash. wanna go in store, take batt key and wheel, go shopping.!! All gauges are vintage SW and ALL work ! Shifter is made out of an old brake handle? Turn signals are on floor in front of shifter!. There is a 13 gal custom tank behind seat, The seats are real auto foam, dense and firm upholstered with an Indian blanket. and the batt and all electrics are under cowl ,which is removable easily by a strap!! So the trunk is empty!! and the floor of trunk is removable by screws to work on rear susp if needed? The brown naugahyde on roof insert is vintage 70s couch !! can still see spring marks in right light, and I will give winning bidder couple of rolls in case you whip up door panels ?? This car is awesome be prepared to be stared at always and there will be people around it , gas stations are the worst, or best for chatter. This is a quality built car dont even say RAT ROD around me!! Any questions message me, so much here! 500 deposit at end of auction . buyers responsibility to arrange pickup or shipping,Car wont leave shop till ALL Ben Franklins are in my possession. Project Ugly Horse: Part IX

Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another.
Chuck Schwynoch had been patiently listening to my ramblings on the other end of the phone for a solid half hour. I'm not too big of a man to know when to ask for help, and at this point, I desperately needed some assistance. The truth is, working on a machine like a Fox Body Mustang is as easy as breathing thanks to the wealth of information available on the web. Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another, and odds are the sorry souls behind those builds shared the highs and lows of their torment with the internet community.
The fascinating forgotten civil defense history of Mister Softee trucks
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Hemmings came across an interesting article from the Throwin' Wrenches blog about the intersection of ice cream, cars and civic duty in America's late 1950s. In particular, it focuses on the Mister Softee trucks, which criss-crossed neighborhoods of the eastern US serving ice cream. Looking past the ultra-durable vehicles used - heavy-duty Ford-based chassis, for what it's worth - the article delves into some deeper national-security territory.
See, Mister Softee truck owners were voluntary members of the Civil Defense, thanks to all the useful stuff (potable water, generators, freezers and fridges) that the machines carried with them for serving ice cream. Click over to Throwin' Wrenches for the full run down of how Mister Softee would have stepped in to help fight if the Cold War ever turned a little hotter.
Ford is building this sweet back-to-basics SUV in Brazil
Mon, 02 Jun 2014We're use to forbidden fruit teasing us in Europe. Hatchbacks and diesels from Renault, Citroën, Peugeot, Skoda, SEAT and Alfa Romeo have been a regular torment that we've grown accustomed to over the years. This vehicle, though, is one piece of forbidden fruit we aren't entirely sure we can get over. We need it.
It's called the Ford Troller T4, and if you accidentally read that as either "reborn Ford Bronco" or "Americanized Land Rover Defender," we wouldn't be rushing to correct you. It's a basic, badass SUV, and is the first new vehicle to come from Troller since Ford gobbled it up in 2007. For those with longer memories, you'll recognize this vehicle from the concept that preceded it, the Ford T-R Concept. The production model remains remarkably true to the T-R, as well as past Trollers, but it's a slightly more modern look overall, with LED taillights, contrasting colors
You'll have to bear with us on the details, as we've been forced to rely on the notoriously literal Google Translate to convert the original Portuguese into English, which means some of the details were lost along the way.
