1930 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan, Runs And Drives Great, Extremely Clean & Original on 2040-cars
Caspar, California, United States
It breaks my heart to put my cherished 1930 Ford Model A Tudor up for sale. However the realities and responsibilities of life must be met! This is a very original running and driving 1930 Tudor. The car has its original mechanical brakes ,correct period license plates, fully operating instruments, lights, controls and a very sound body with a great patina! This car would be an excellent candidate for either restoration or conservation and use as it is. The car comes with a new heater system that is still in the box.
The wood throughout the car is like new. The body has ZERO rust or damage from previous repairs. The polished stainless steel and chrome through the car is also in excellent condition. The car starts easily, idles smoothly, and runs very nicely down the road. All of the controls and gauges are working so this car can defiantly be driven daily as it is. The exterior of the car is Mallard green with Black trim. When I first got the car I believed that it was the original heavily patina paint from new. After closer inspection though (I pulled the Chromed Dash instrument panel off in order to service the instruments) I have discovered that the original paint on this car was most likely "Washington Blue". The current Mallard Green paint job though definitely showing its age, still looks great and would be very acceptable on a "Conserved" car. The only part of the car that will defiantly require attention, is the interior. The headliner is out of the car and will need to be replaced. The good thing about this however is that being out it allows you to see clearly how good the wood in the body is. The carpets (or rubber floor mats if preferred) are also out and in need of replacement. I will be very happy to answer any questions, or send additional photos so please do not hesitate to ask. |

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
New UAW boss Williams talks tough, vows 'no more concessions'
Sun, 08 Jun 2014Dennis Williams, the newly elected president of the UAW, had some tough words for American automakers in his inauguration speech at the 2014 UAW Convention, striking down the possibility of any additional concessions from the 400,000-strong union.
"No more concessions. We are tired of it. Enough is enough," Williams said during his speech. UAW employees have not received a raise in nearly 10 years, according to Reuters.
Considering the recent strong results for Ford, Chrysler and General Motors, the union's demands are likely to carry a bit more weight in next year's negotiations. And considering Williams' tough stance, we could be in for some fireworks once negotiations commence.
2015 Ford Mustang production to begin on July 14? Not quite, says Ford
Thu, 10 Jul 2014Mustang6g.com believes that it has unlocked start date for 2015 Ford Mustang production citing a Ford dealer communiqué. According to the report, job one on the 2015 hardtop will allegedly start in just a few days, on July 14, although units that are known as "OK to Buy" won't enter production until September 9. The cars built between those dates are most likely final pre-production cars for the executive test fleet, and will likely include the cars we'll be driving at the media launch.
Sun worshippers, meanwhile, would seem to have a longer wait. Job one on the droptop supposedly isn't slated to start until September 14, with production models starting on October 27. As is the case with the hardtop, these final pre-pros are for the execs and media to test, while actual dealer orders will come from vehicles made after the October date.
After speaking to Ford, though, we wouldn't put a great deal of stock in those dates as reported. We reached out to Said Deep, Ford's North American Product Communications Manager.
