Show Stopper! Two words that sum up this Bright Orange Beauty.

1930 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan Hot Rod. Powered by a reliable 350V8 Crate engine backed by a Summit Racing 350 Trans into Ford 8.8 Rear. Built to drive cross country! Turn key and go. Car is set up as two seater, with storage area behind seats. Built by owner, who has been building Street Rods since the late 60's. Many accolades to his credit, including a National Top Ten award for a previous scratch built Track T.  The sedan sits on a custom '32 style frame, with custom fiberglass fenders, Body was an original Steel Ford body, and I have enclosed pic of the donor car. Interior is nicely appointed with Pontiac GTP seats, Power drivers side, and very comfortable. Weld Racing wheels complete this package. I have been lucky enough to ride in this street machine. It has plenty of go, and also has great road manners. Firm ride, not harsh. Power assisted 4wheel disc brakes. Paint is a Basecoat Clearcoat with pin stripe. Top is Mercedes Weatherproof material. Car does have heat for Fall Cruising!

Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible makes inappropriate appearance in Detroit [w/video]

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

With the polar vortex fresh in the minds of Autoblog's Detroit-based staff, we're finding it funny that any manufacturer would choose January in the Motor City to show off a new and highly anticipated convertible to the general media and public for the first time. But Ford has done just that, giving us our first real peek at the new Mustang Convertible in the flesh.
The new Mustang Convertible is more or less unchanged from the standard coupe, with some subtle styling tweaks to accommodate the retractable soft top. Engine and transmission choices are identical to the hardtop, although we should expect slightly lower performance due to the hardware for the roof. Like the coupe, neither prices nor performance metrics have been published yet for the convertible.

Are you a new Ford Mustang SVO? [w/video]

Fri, 16 May 2014

When Ford announced that its 2015 Mustang would arrive with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, three letters came to mind: SVO. While Ford hasn't said a word regarding the rebirth of a Mustang SVO model, this latest set of spy shots shows us something very, very interesting. Allow us to explain.
The Mustang prototype in these photos looks very similar to the GT500 test cars we've spotted before - same bulging hood, aggressive front fascia and air vents aft of the front wheels. What's different, however, is around back. Have a look at the exhaust, and note that instead of the GT500's usual quad pipes, two of the exhaust outlets have been capped off.
Our spies point out that these exhaust outlets could be closed for some sort of emissions testing or another engineering reason, but it's also important to note that the engine and exhaust notes of this car sound completely different from earlier GT500 prototypes. We've got a video below that compares the two.
