I’ve decided to sell my 1930 Model A Coupe. I’ve had the car for close to ten years, it came to me as an abandoned street rod project. I wanted to build a more traditional style hot rod and that is how the car is now. I never intended for the car to have a finished look it was always going to be a primer car. The car is by no means a rat or ratty. My plans were to have a safe solid car and that’s what it will be when finished. Over the years I have worked on the car on and off as my interest motivated me. The car is titled as a 1930 Ford. The title is clear and in my name. -it has a very solid body with the necessary patch panels (forward & rear quarters, inner rear fenders) installed -the cowl has been rebuilt to repair the street rod damage and poor workmanship, replaced the poorly installed hidden door hinges with new model a hinges, the upper hinge is gone as a result of a bad chop job. -the chop is approximately 6 inches now, it started out roughly 4 inches and I took out 2 inches to clean it up it still is not perfect but it is a lot better than when I got it. The previous owner chopped it and welded the body together, poorly, to cut it apart you will need to source a rear window panel. -the doors are nice and only need a little more work to finish fixing where the hidden hinges where installed -I reversed the firewall for engine room -it will need the visor reinstalled -the trunk lid needs to be finished, the skin was removed and louvered That said the body is very solid and is 90% finished unless you should choose to replace the rear window panel. -the frame is a boxed stock model a unit that is kicked in the rear 6 inches and stretched to 106 inch wheelbase -it has a custom k member that resembles a ’32 k member with rear facing legs that the ladder bars attach to -driveline is in and installed, motor & trans mounts done -’51 331 Chrysler hemi that was removed from a running car about 7 years ago -’69 Ford big block top loader 4 speed with a new Wilcap adaptor and flywheel that will use a 11 inch ford clutch -narrowed van 9 inch rear with 31 spline Dutchman axles, 3.00:1 open diff -dropped original Ford ’32 heavy axle -round back spindles with juice brakes -split ’39 wishbone -stock ’30-31 radiator and grill shell -’51 F1 steering box -6.00-16 front, 7.50-16 rear tires on 16” black ford steel wheels, the tires are new, only used as rollers and always stored indoors -MG seats -guide 682 headlights I know there are details I have missed please ask questions if you have them. If you would like to see the car that can be arranged, please contact me. I would consider trades for a 4x4 Willys wagon or truck. I would also consider a 1950’s 4 door car or wagon. This car is an unfinished project and is not drivable. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is for sale locally. The car is sold “as is” with no warranty expressed or implied. A non refundable $400.00 deposit via Paypal is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction . Balance of payment is due via cash on pick up or certified bank check 10 business days before the car is picked up. If paying by certified check I will not release the car before 10 business days after receiving the check. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements. The car must be picked up within 20 days of the end of the auction.
zero feedback bidders bids will be canceled if you do not contact me first

Hot sales have Detroit automakers shortening summer shutdowns
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Back in May, there was speculation that the Detroit Three automakers would maintain or perhaps even extend their traditional summer shutdowns, mostly due to a bitingly cold winter that saw below-freezing temperatures infiltrate the southernmost reaches of the US, putting a chill on auto sales. Now, though, the numbers are in, and thanks to some promising sales figures, it looks like some domestic line workers are going to be working clear through July, in some cases.
According to Automotive News, Ford has slashed its traditional two-week hiatus for factory workers in half at four of its plants, while both Chrysler and General Motors will keep factories running nonstop (two plants in Chrysler's case and a third of GM's factories).
This is, as we said, thanks to some positive numbers. Chief among those is the Seasonal Adjusted Annual Rate, which was at an eight-year high of 17 million units. Individual figures were less promising. GM, embroiled in its recall scandal, still saw a one-percent increase while Ford dropped six percent in year-over-year sales. Chrysler was the big winner, though, with a nine-percent jump in June.
Ford launches pair of recalls affecting fullsize sedans and Transit Connect van
Wed, Jan 28 2015Ford has announced a pair of pretty significant recalls affecting the 2010-2013 Ford Taurus and Police Interceptor, as well as their platform-mate, the Lincoln MKS. A separate recall covers the 2014 Transit Connect. The fullsize sedans include 205,000 vehicles built at Chicago Assembly over a variety of timeframes, ranging between December 1, 2009 and November 30, 2012. The vehicles, 194,889 of which were sold in the United States, have an issue with the spring controls on the interior door handles that could cause the door to open in a side-impact crash. The Transit Connect recall, meanwhile, includes 16,100 vans built between November 6, 2013 and September 20,2014 at the company's Valencia, Spain factory. In these vehicles, the seatbelt fasteners may not have been tightened properly, which could cause them to loosen over time, a condition that's obviously bad news in the event of a crash. Ford says it is not aware of any accidents, injuries or crashes in either recall. Owners will, of course, be notified and asked to report in for inspections and if necessary, free replacements. Scroll down for the full press release from Ford, which includes the complete breakdown of dates during which the affected sedans were built in Chicago. JAN 28, 2015 | DEARBORN, MICH. FORD ISSUES TWO SAFETY RECALLS Ford is issuing two safety recalls. No accidents or injuries are attributed to either of these conditions. Details are as follows: Ford issues safety recall for certain 2010-2013 Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Ford Police Interceptor sedans for interior door handle issue Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 205,000 2010-2013 Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Ford Police Interceptor sedans due to an issue with the spring that controls the interior door handles. If the spring is unseated, the door may become unlatched in a side-impact crash, increasing the risk of injury. Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition. Affected vehicles include certain 2010-2013 Ford Taurus vehicles built Dec. 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010 and Feb. 1, 2011 to Nov. 30, 2012 at Chicago Assembly Plant; certain 2010-2013 Lincoln MKS vehicles built June 2, 2011 to Oct. 31, 2011 at Chicago Assembly Plant; and certain 2010-2013 Ford Police Interceptor sedans built Dec. 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010 and Feb. 1, 2011 to Nov. 30, 2012 at Chicago Assembly Plant.
Automakers' rush on aluminum may result in shortage
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Aluminum is the new buzzword in the automotive industry. The latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both take advantage of the lightweight material to shave huge amounts of body fat (only it's called "aluminium" over there). Audi and Jaguar have been using the stuff for years in their A8 and XJ, respectively, and now, aluminum is going mainstream, arriving on the 2015 Ford F-150.
While we're excited to see aluminum make an impact outside the premium market, its widespread adoption apparently won't come without some problems, notably in terms of supply. "There isn't an automotive manufacturer that makes vehicles in North America that we're not talking to," Tom Boney, of Novelis, the largest global supplier of aluminum sheetmetal, told The Detroit News.
According to Boney, Ford's use of aluminum on such a large scale has forced auto manufacturers in "every boardroom" to reconsider their plans following the F-150's unveiling, for one simple reason: there's not exactly enough aluminum to go around, at least in the short term. The auto industry presently only accounts for six percent of the aluminum sheet produced, but as the material is adopted by more and more brands, that figure is expected to swell to 25 percent within the next six years.
