Up for auction 1929 Model A Ford Tudor sedan 409 Chevy powered show stopper. I built this car 4 years ago from the ground up . Frame was built on frame jig and very sturdy it does utilize the first 4 ft of the stock model A frame which was boxed then drilled for lightening.
Powered by 1962 date coded SS impala 409 and has X on front of the block and has original code still on head deck. This motor is no joke at 700 hp it has forged 454 eagle crank, 454 forged eagle rods, Ross racing 11.2 to 1 forged racing pistons with hasting rings. Hydraulic isky roller cam .617 int & exh ,isky roller lifters and comp roller rockers. Edelbrock aluminum heads professional cnc ported for more flow than Edelbrock 2.19 intake and 1.72 exh valves flowing 288 int and 236 cfm exh on flow chart by Butler Performance. Edelbrock dual 4 intake with offy spread bore tunnel rams. Dual 650 tunnel ram demon carbs. Vintage blow proof cast bell housing by Ansen with lower cast plate. Mcleod dual rxt clutch and Mcleod 454 aluminum flywheel the true cubic inches on the engine is now 472....I spared no expense on this engine just ask my wife....hydraulic wilwood clutch and brake set up, pressing on a borg warner wide ratio cast iron super t-10. In the rear it has a ford 9 inch 3.25 gear which does very nice at 65 mph at at about 2000 rpm but will break the tires loose in an instant , full spool posi with Strange SS axles. Ladder bar set up in the rear with Afco coil over shocks , hair pin front end with 4 inch drop drilled Bell Super I beam axle. The car does have a 10 point 1 5/8 professional cage good for 9 sec quarter mile with 5 point rci seat belts and fire extinguisher . 1932 grille shell and grille from brookville roadsters, aluminum radiator and cooling concepts fan on an auto relay ... The car has never gotten hot and on 100 degree days runs constantly at 195 deg... Msd distributor with Msd ignition and two stage set up with line lock and dual low and high rev limiters , msd small shift light .. The car has all lights and turn signals ... Leather suede seats . Rocket wheels and Firestone tires. This car is like the beach boys said in the song 409 ....It is a dual quad, 4 speed ,posi traction 409!!!!!!! Way cool car and I have a lot invested but am ready to move on to the next project I have all receipts for the car in a very thick folder. All the details on Plug In 2014 electric vehicle conference you could ever want

Wed, Aug 6 2014

One of the best parts of the Plug In 2014 Conference in San Jose, CA last week was getting to listen in on thoughts about the state of the plug-in vehicle industry from people who have been involved with it for ages. They bristle when you call them the "Old Guard" (learned that one the hard way), but these are the people who have been through a number of ups and downs with plug-in vehicles, so they've got what we call perspective. Their knowledge was on full display in the three plenary sessions, which the Plug In Conference organizers have given us permission to share with you. Each is at least 90 minutes long, so make sure to set some time aside to enjoy the discussions after you download them (any help with making them streamable would be appreciated). Follow us below to see what we've got to offer. Opening Plenary (audio link). "The Road Ahead – Delivering on a Vision for Sustainable Transportation." Moderated by Mark Duvall (director of energy utilization at EPRI, the Electric Power Research Institute, and a long-time EV advocate), this panel featured: Jack Broadbent, Executive Officer / APCO, Bay Area Air Quality Management District Pat Romano, President & Chief Executive Officer, ChargePoint, Inc. Aaron Johnson, Senior Director, Customer Programs, Pacific Gas and Electric Company Brendan Jones, Director, EV Sales Operations & Infrastructure Deployment, Nissan North America, Inc. David W. Cash, Commissioner, MassDEP Dan Sperling, Director, Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California, Davis Highlights: Educating drivers to "get over the gas station" is a key strategy, how Level 2 and DC Fast Charging are really "a new paradigm," that there have been well over 214,000 EVs sold in US as of July 2014 and where Nissan sees huge potential for more EV sales (Northeast US and medium-size cities like St. Louis and Pittsburgh). Wednesday Morning Plenary (audio link). "Getting to the Mass Market – A Discussion of Ideas for Widespread PEV Adoption." Moderated by John Gartner, research director for smart transportation at Navigant Research.

2015 Ford Focus sedan shows its fresh face in New York

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

That handsome fellow you see above is the 2015 Ford Focus sedan. We liked the looks of the 2014 Focus, and the updates for 2015 only improve things to our eyes, with the adoption of the Aston Martin-inspired grille that has been permeating Ford's lineup these last few years. Sweeping, slightly bulbous headlamps join a revised, more demure lower grille opening to round out the styling updates up front. The rest of the car's look is just slightly massaged, including new taillamp clusters that look much like they did last year.
New for 2015 is the availability of Ford's 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. There's also a new SE Sport Package that adds more aggressive suspension tuning, paddle shifters (when equipped with Ford's six-speed dual-clutch automatic) and a few body kit bits and pieces. Rounding out the mechanical changes are an updated electronic steering rack that promises better feel, suspension tweaks to make the ride more comfortable and some software updates designed to make the dual-clutch gearbox better behave itself.
In addition, inside there are a few interior upgrades, as well as some added comfort and safety tech that includes available blind-spot detection and lane-keeping assist, along with other more incremental changes that all add up to a better vehicle. We suggest you check out the official press release below for all the details, but not before scrolling through our image gallery of live shots above.
