1929 Ford Roadster BODY This is an extremely well thought-out, well constructed build. The Z24 350 Chevy V-8 with Jet coated Headers sends the power to the Ford 8" rear via a 400 automatic transmission. The 4 bar polished stainless front suspension is by Pete & Jake. The brakes are disc at all four corners, Radial tires are mounted on 15" front and rear polished American rims. The steering is Vega type with a Corvette steering column. Sitting on a 1929-32 Ford reproduction boxed chassis by TCI is a Wescott 1929 Ford Roadster body, finished in multiple coats of smooth deep Red basecoat/clearcoat paint. The fit and finish is up to above driver quality standards. I have the painted frenched louvered hood sides but like the look with just the top hood section on! The fabric top can be used up , folded down or easily removed with 4 bolts and snaps. INTERIOR Soft Tuck and Roll red and white leather, fitted carpet w / matching floor mats says to you to get in and enjoy the ride. The classic gauges all add to the overall ambiance. Notice the shifter, brake and gas pedal quality and location. The trunk opens up to reveal a fully finished look with a rumble seat that compliments the interior. This can be changed to a regular trunk. The optima battery is hidden in a tray underneath the seat along with the fuse connections. DRIVING IMPRESSIONS Simply put, this roadster drives as good as it looks - not a small accomplishment in a Hot Rod. It is smooth, not choppy. It travels straight down the road, the transmission shifts perfectly. It has a very solid feel, the result of a first class build . The fitted carpet and matching floor mats are installed over layers of heat and sound deadening material so that there is no excess heat in the cockpit and no excess sound. The only sounds you hear are the throatiness of the exhaust system and the growl of those rear tires There are no drivability issues! I am 6ft and fit comfortable. My wife and my 21 year old daughter both drive this car to shows together and enjoy the ride. THE LOOK It's not easy for a builder to attain "the look" but this Roadster has it in spades. You gotta love this Hot Rod, it looks and sounds fast and mean standing still! And, oh yeah, everyone loves this car - lots of thumbs up and waves - smiles all around. But this car is not for the bashful type, not for someone who wants to fly under the radar. You will get noticed. OVERALL This custom built roadster, is only 5300 miles from new, and was built to drive, It is in very nice shape. It started life in 2011 . I am stating that it is a # 3 quality but it is much better. Simply put if you see this Roadster in person, you'll buy it. Check the component prices of this high caliber build and you'll realize the value - This car is proof that it makes economic sense to buy them finished. A sample of some of the items used in the build!

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost flogged and analyzed by Ignition
Mon, 13 Oct 2014Aside from the way it looks and perhaps its independent rear suspension, the biggest bit of news on the 2015 Mustang may be the inclusion of its 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. That blown mill marks the first time since the Mustang SVO of the '80s that a turbo has been fitted under the engine of Ford's pony car.
The Mustang EcoBoost is the subject of the latest episode of Ignition from Motor Trend, giving us a great look at the technical, nitty-gritty side of the turbocharged coupe. Covering it from bow to stern, host Carlos Lago walks us through the boosted Ford before taking to the track for some driving impressions, with particular praise given to the low-end grunt of the 2.3-liter mill.
Check out the full video and then let us know which 2015 Mustang has your interest piqued the most - the EcoBoost four, the 5.0L V8 or the entry-level V6.
Ford shutters Genk assembly plant in Belgium
Tue, Dec 23 2014Ford has become the latest automaker to close one of its European assembly plants. The facility in question is located in the Belgian city of Genk and has been in operation since the early '60s when it started building the Taunus, Ford's first mass-produced, front-drive model. As part of the plan first announced over two years ago, the Genk Body & Assembly Plant is now closing its doors after half a century in the business and over fourteen million vehicles built. Although the plant itself employed some 5,000 workers, once you take into account the suppliers built up around the plant, the overall impact on employment in the area edges closer to 12,000. Genk Body & Assembly had until recently been tasked with producing the Mondeo sedan (which in its current iteration we know as the Fusion) as well as the S-Max and Galaxy minivans. Production of the Mondeo shifted in 2013 to the company's plant in Valencia, Spain, which also handles the Kuga crossover and Transit Connect cargo van, and will soon take over the minivans from Genk as well. The move follows a similar decision undertaken by General Motors to close the Opelwerk plant in Bochum, Germany. It also reflects a scaling down of automobile production in Belgium specifically: although Audi still manufacturers in Brussels and and Volvo in Ghent, Opel closed its plant in Antwerp in 2000 and Renault ceased production in Vilvoorde back in '97. However Ford still maintains its famous proving ground half an hour to the north in Lommel, Belgium. Ford vandalizes the SEMA Show floor with 2014 Transit Connect
Tue, 05 Nov 2013The Ford booth here at SEMA is practically a 1970s throwback with all these customized vans sitting front and center. And we're completely fine with that. Take the black and yellow (black and yellow, black and yellow) 2014 Transit Connect from Mobsteel above. It's got a great stance, sits on steel wheels and has a pretty cool paint job and graphics package to boot.
Of course, that's not the only van you can see at the Ford booth. In fact, there are 10 Transit Connect vans on display from Ford here at SEMA, and you can see them all in our live gallery of high-res images above. Then, if you want to know more about each specific model, feel free to scroll down to read all about these vans in the official press release from Ford.
