Up for sale is my prized 1929 Ford Model A Roadster Hot Rod. This car was built over a period of 4 years. Great care and attention to detail was payed to build a car that looked like it was built by a returning service member coming home from WWII. This car has a salt flats feel and is a blast to drive. It started life as a coupe but someone cut the top off years before I bought it so I turned it into a Roadster the correct way, paying attention to all of the details and sparing no expense doing it. The engine is a strong 355 sbc with 10:1 compression. The pistons are 11.8 domed Speed Pro units, with a forged crank and eagle rods. The transmission is a 5 speed out of a Camero. The Radiator is the best that you can buy, a Walker Radiator. The rear end is a ford 8" from a 1967 Fairlane. The wheels have all been powder coated and have great Coker rubber on them. They're 1932 Ford 18" rims out back and 1935 Ford 16" rims up front. The front brakes are 1940 Ford with drilled backing plates. The car stops very well. The front I-beam has been drilled too. All of the bright work on the car, such as the I-beam, split wish bones, backing plates, windshield frame, ect, has been nickel plated. The carpet is newer and is in great shape. The seat fabric is a black vinyl. The top is truly awesome looking! They are 1931 Deluxe Roadster top irons that were cut and reshaped to give a more aggressive look and get rid of the buggy appearance. New stained and polyurethaned wood top bows were also used and look great! All of the cars controls and switches are hidden under the dash to give it a super clean appearance. The top half of the hood was made into one piece and all fastens to the car with Dzus fasteners. The nickel plated lake headers exit thru the hood louvers trimmed out with custom stainless steel rings. The red used for the scallops is 1934 Chevy OxBlood Red. A great hot rod for the price. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due 48 hours after the end of the auction via PayPal. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. The vehicle will NOT be released until ALL of the funds have cleared via bank wire transfer or cash. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Thanks for looking!

Here's what it's like to drive the very first Ford Mustang cop car
Thu, Jan 29 2015As we recently discovered, there's something different about driving a police car. That's true whether you're talking about a modern Dodge Charger Pursuit or, yes, the legendary Ford Mustang SSP. Former Autoblog staffer and current Road and Track web editor Zach Bowman discovered this when he shanghaied a 2015 Mustang GT and made the trip to Nashville, TN to drive the very first Mustang SSP police car. The two-tone, V8-powered prototype was delivered into the welcoming arms of the California Highway Patrol back in 1981 for evaluation. Bowman chatted up cop-car aficionado Mike Strinich, the prototype's current owner, and managed to score some seat time in the car, which provided a unique interesting contrast to the SSP's 435-horsepower junior. Head over to R&T for the complete read.
Here's how much the new Ford Mustang will cost in Germany
Thu, Jan 8 2015While you can find Ford Mustangs across Europe, they were brought over there courtesy of importers, rather than Ford itself. That's changing with the 2015 pony car, as Ford will be selling it directly through its overseas dealers. Now, we know how much German customers will be shelling out for the muscle car, courtesy of the maniacs at Mustang6G. Not surprisingly, there's a fairly hefty premium compared to US prices. The base Mustang, with its 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder and six-speed manual transmission will start at 34,000 euros ($40,214, at today's rates), while the 5.0-liter V8/six-speed-manual model starts at 39,000 euros ($46,127). The Mustang Convertible demands an extra 4,000 euros ($4,731) while the optional six-speed automatic elevates the price by 2,000 euros ($2,365), regardless, in both cases, of whether there are four or eight cylinders under that long hood. While those prices are certainly pretty dear compared to what we pay in the US, the Mustang is a genuine bargain compared to some of Europe's other sports coupes. The German market BMW 4 Series starts at 36,050 euros ($42,638), while a base 435i calls for 48,100 euros ($56,891). It's a similar story with the Audi A5/S5. As for the Mustang's arch-nemesis, the Chevrolet Camaro, which is only available with the SS model's 6.2-liter V8, starts at 39,990 euros ($47,298), comparing quite evenly with the 5.0-liter GT.
Ford hybrids getting update to improve fuel economy
Tue, 16 Jul 2013Ford has announced that it is introducing "calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid."
We can speculate that these changes are at least due in part to lawsuits over mileage claims of hybrid vehicles. The automaker is enhancing 2013 models starting in August by raising their electric cruising speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph, optimizing the use of active grille shutters and the climate control system, shortening the engine warm-up period by 50 percent and reducing electric fan speed to minimize the fan's energy consumption.
It bears mentioning that Ford is doing pretty well in the US electrified vehicle market this year. The company claims to have grown its share in the segment by 12 points to 16 percent while taking a high number of Toyota Prius trade-ins in the process. Conversely, Toyota has experienced a five-percent drop in new-Prius sales over the same period. Additionally, Ford states that it has increased its share of the US vehicle market by one percent this year, more than any full-line automaker.
