Rare Find- 1929 Ford Model A Pickup Roadster Flat Head Ford with Manual Tranny. Full Restoration. Truck was purchased from Barrett-Jackson and comes with all the documentation. Guaranteed none nicer. Better than money in the bank!!!

This gorgeous blue and black 1929 Ford Model A open cab pickup is a driveable piece of history. This superb Model A pickup has had a frame-off restoration and a 1932 Model B L-head 4 cylinder engine which is essentially a variant of lubrication and an increase of 50hp.  This truck drives just as it should with a smooth shifting 3 speed manual transmission and has improved stopping power with hydraulic brakes.  With a removable soft top and tilting windshield there is nothing like cruising down your favorite boulevard in this head turning classic.  The Model A replaced the Model T and was Ford's first vehicle to use a standard set of controls with conventional brake, clutch, gear shift and throttle positions.  This Model A is leaps and bounds ahead of the Model T in terms of ease of use, where you can simply jump in, turn the key and drive away.  This Model A has excellent condition tires as well as a very handsome yet simple interior with a visual gas gauge, hand operated windshield wiper and onlu a few other controls.

Shelby American cleans house of 14 concept cars

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Typically when an automaker rolls out a concept car or pre-production prototype, it does its tour and then disappears into the company's archives. Maybe it will be displayed for the public to see in the company's own museum or maybe it will spend most of its time under covers in a warehouse somewhere, but every once in a while, an automaker will open up its history and start selling off its concept cars. For Shelby American, "once in a while" has just rolled around.
The House that Carroll Built is moving from its previous headquarters at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to a new facility off of the Las Vegas strip, and in the process is liquidating fourteen of the rarest cars in its collection. That presents a tremendous opportunity for muscle car collectors to bring one or more of these snakes home.
As you might expect, the catalog is composed mostly of Mustangs, but not exclusively. There's a pair of 289 Cobras: the last of the 50th anniversary slab-sided continuation cars and an original development vehicle, offered at $200,000 apiece. At the other end of the spectrum you'll find the 2013 Shelby Raptor concept for $125k and Focus concept for $50k. And of course there are the Mustangs.

Chevy Silverado frame twist test a marketing victory versus Ford

Thu, 16 Oct 2014

The pickup market is so competitive that all three major American makers are constantly trying to find a way to prove their product is the best. The new 2015 Ford F-150 is grabbing headlines at the moment by winning awards and posting segment best numbers. But in a new video, Chevrolet is taking aim squarely at the 2015 F-250 Super Duty in a battle of heavy-duty truck supremacy against the 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD... well, in a single metric anyway.
The big numbers from pickups often come down to payload, towing rating and fuel economy, but for this test, Chevy and Howie Long are challenging the torsional rigidity of the trucks' frames, specifically which one flexes less. Long plays the everyman here having the Chevy engineer explain what's going on in the tests. Unsurprisingly for a video on Chevy's official YouTube page, the 2500HD wins out by a good margin. The company also reports that similar results as shown here have been certified in third-party testing.
Check out the video to see the full test. While this might seem like a marketing win for Chevy, Ford isn't immune to it, either. In 2009, the Blue Oval uploaded a similar video comparing the flex under 225 pounds of weight from the bare frames of the F-150, Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram (as it was still called at the time) and the Toyota Tundra. The results fell in the Blue Oval's favor, as you can see here.

More 2015 Ford Mustang pricing information leaks [UPDATE]

Tue, 20 May 2014

The big news this morning was that the 2015 Ford Mustang would start at $24,425, including its destination pricing. The big news this afternoon is, well, bigger.
Mustang6G.com has come up with what it claims is pricing info for the entire Mustang line, rather than just the V6. That means we know all about the EcoBoost and GT prices now, which, when combined with the dealer order sheets we reported on last week, gives us our clearest look yet at how the Mustang can be outfitted (we're still a bit short on pricing info for some standalone options, like paint premiums and such).
The base EcoBoost starts at $25,995, while the GT rings up at $32,925.
