has been on the road and ready to go its a daily driver for me (weather permitting) of course so miles will go up a little bit but not much, this old hot rod has plenty of room to make it "yours" un chopped barebones hot rod here , questions welcome. i included some pictures of the build for views of the frame and other stuff that you can't typically see with it all built up now. this things gets so much attention when I'm out in it, and pictures galore!!! real show stopper!! there are a couple items from the car that will be removed, such as my car club plaque, and air breather, i will swap that out for a vintage weiand air cleaner. info to bidders and the highest winning bidder payment is to be made within 72 hours by bank certified check or cash at end of auction, if you need it shipped i will assist you any possible way and i can meet the shipping company/ mover any where here in town after payment is cleared, and i will send you the title. thanks and good luck!!! Ford reveals automated Fusion Hybrid
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Autonomous cars may still be in their infancy, but more and more big names in the auto industry are diving in head first. Nissan is already making strides with a semi-autonomous Leaf EV and General Motors is planning to offer semi-autonomous tech by 2020. And then there's Google, doing its thing with a fleet of Toyota Prius. Now, Ford is showing off its latest automated effort, a driverless Fusion Hybrid.
Partnering with the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and State Farm Insurance, the project is part of Ford's Blueprint for Mobility, the company's plan for transportation beyond 2025. "The Ford Fusion Hybrid automated vehicle represents a vital step toward our vision for the future of mobility," Chairman Bill Ford said. "We see a future of connected cars that communicate with each other and the world around them to make driving safer, ease traffic congestion and sustain the environment."
The automated Fusion features four LiDAR infrared sensors that scan the road 2.5 million times every second, using a principle similar to the echolocation used by dolphins or bats. Using the infrared light emitted by the LiDAR, the car can draw a picture of everything within 200 feet to create a map of its surroundings. According to Ford, the sensors are able to tell the difference between a paper bag and a small animal from a football field away.
Ford reveals new rapid prototyping and low-volume production techniques [w/video]
Mon, 08 Jul 2013It's called "F3T," and that stands for Ford Free-form Fabrication Technology. The process that The Blue Oval has developed means being able to sidestep the weeks-long process of tool-and-die making when engineers want to construct a new part, allowing them to fabricate a three-dimensional part from a two-dimensional sheet of metal in just hours.
While F3T is being developed it is limited to "low-volume prototyping or even low-volume niche vehicles," but the next step is to evaluate it for use in Ford's global manufacturing facilities. You can find out more about it in the video and the press release below.
Ford's official Euro aftermarket partner Mountune coming to US
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Now that we're getting a steady stream of Ford's European offerings, the aftermarket world is finally starting to catch up as well. UK-based aftermarket tuning company, Mountune has just announced that it will be setting up shop in California to provide high-performance and racing parts for Ford vehicles including the Focus ST and Fiesta ST.
Mountune lays claim to being Ford's "official European tuning partner," and US buyers will soon have access to these parts through Ford dealerships and with a Ford Racing warranty. Speaking of Ford Racing, Mountune also says that it will be working with Ford's in-house team to develop future components for both street and track. There are no specifics as of yet for which products will be offered here, but the company plans to launch a US-specific website later this month with more information.
