1929 Ford Hot Rod Sedan Converted To Sedan Delivery on 2040-cars
Stuart, Virginia, United States
What we have here is a highly customized hot rod that has been sitting in an enclosed garage for over a decade. The former owner acquired it from an estate and only drove it to a few shows then lost interest. It has an all steel body with fender/body seams welded and the side windows deleted giving it a sedan delivery appearance. The doors have been shaved and has remote electric door openers and locks. The interior is in excellent condition and shows very little wear and there are not tears, stains or rips. It is sitting on a shortened El Camino chassis with a big block 402 engine, turbo 350 transmission and 10 bolt rear. The car cranks, idles and drives great. All gauges and speedo work and it maintains good and steady oil pressure. I only drove it a few miles but in those few miles I got a hundred looks and thumbs up. There are a few issues that need to be corrected including the right door opener does not work and the remote does not work at all. The stereo is not working and I was told the sound system and remote openers all stopped working at the same time. The matt black paint is a little thin and needs attention but there are no signs of frame or body rust. I had planned to go through the electrical system and do some other upgrades but other projects keep getting in the way. Car has a clear title showing the original VIN# but there is no vin plate. I can provide a bill of sale from the former owner for your DMV. |

Ford could post best-ever profits in Q1 2013
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Analysts are saying that Ford Motor Company may have earned a record $2.7 billion pretax profit in North America during the first quarter of 2013, a number that represents its highest first quarter profit ever. The impressive earnings are further proof that the American automaker is making a solid comeback as the economy begins to recover.
Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase are estimating that Ford's first quarter North American profit may have topped 12 percent. The firm cited the automaker's fresh lineup, but noted that CEO Alan Mulally needs to uphold the pace as the company works to gain ground in the car and utility segments.
Ford's success has been led by increased demand for its F-Series pickup, the best-selling vehicle in the US for 31 years, and by the Fusion sedan that recently recorded its best-ever quarterly sales in the domestic market. Ford is expected to release its first-quarter revenue on Wednesday, of this week.
Ford's Farley apologizes for saying Blue Oval tracks customers with GPS
Fri, 10 Jan 2014Ford marketing head honcho Jim Farley made waves at CES this week by telling show attendees, "We know everyone who breaks the law, we know when you're doing it." according to a report by Business Insider. Farley continued by saying, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone."
Farley has since amended his statement, saying that Ford dose not, in fact, track its customers in their cars "without their approval or consent."
Apparently carried away with a hypothetical notion, Farley was attempting to describe how Ford might be able to employee aggregated user data for things like accurate traffic reporting and pattern spotting. A Ford spokesperson confirmed with Business Insider that its GPS units are not sharing the whereabouts of drivers, though there are a few on-board services that might do so. After opting in to the services (and presumably being made aware of any/all tracking and data collection), Ford's Sync Services Directions and Crew Chief software do, in fact, allow data collection as a means of improving both systems. Farley added that the opt-in data is not shared, even when being tracked.
Top Gear pits Hennessey VelociRaptor vs. Range Rover Sport SVR
Fri, Jun 5 2015As a television series, Top Gear is in limbo with an intent to return, but no hosts yet. However, it's magazine and website continue to bring us clips like this one. While the video might lack the show's charismatic hosts, this is an opportunity to see a drag race between a Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR with 550 horsepower and a Hennessey VelociRaptor with 623 hp. The duel between these two supercharged V8s definitely sounds great. Both rugged models start at the line growling angrily at each other like dogs ready for a fight. You have to watch the clip to see whether the more powerful VelociRaptor feeds on the SVR, though.
