If you are reading this, you must have some appreciation for older Fords. With that being said, you will really like this car. I was told about the car through some race car buddys, the car belonged to a gentleman that had owned the car for 30 years, he purchased the car from a guy out of the Carolina's, it had been a race car through out its lifetime. That's why it's so well preserved, I am getting off track, sorry.
The previous owner had raced the car for about twenty years or so, it use to have a 427 in it, the car went high 10's according to his son's. He had parked the car to take a break, and that turned into about 8 years, well, unfortunately the gentleman passed away. So the car just sat in the barn, the story I got was his race buddy pulled the 427 out, their dad had some sort of arrangement with the guy, so he took it. The two sons had enough parts laying around they started to get a motor ready, they had it machined, freshened up the block and stalled out. The car sat for a couple of years, they decide they didnt have time for the car so that's when I bought it. I got most of the parts , I just had to put it together, plus a few odds and ends. the motor is a standard bore early 390, new rings, bearings, oil pump, ect. The heads are 62 408 heads that have been decked, all new valves and springs, to accommodate the 500 plus solid roller cam. It also has the original cast iron long headers , they run about a grand by them selves. The transmission is a C6 wich I had completely rebuilt, along with a new 2500 stall. mechanically everything is new or has been rebuilt. I put the engine in the car and got it to fire, sound really good, the car basically need someone to adjust the lifters and set the points, also the brakes look great but need to be adjusted, i'm not too good with drum stuff. It has new tires up front. It also needs the a headlight switch, I think its bad, I couldn't move it. The body is very impressive for a 50 year old car, it has never been restored, they painted the roof and tops of the rear quarters about 20 years ago. doors, fenders, quarters, and trunk are original to the car, other than a little surface oxidation from sitting the car is really solid. The previous owner put a fuel cell in the trunk, in the process of doing that he had the floor modified, but it looks good. The interior is 100% original, the carpet is faded and the das pad has a few cracks, but all the seats look amazing, as well as the headliner. If you are wanting a unique car that you wont see at the cruise in or drag strip, this is it please call me with any questions, I am available most of the time, if you get my voice mail please leave a message and I will call you back asap. thanks 352 494 6913 |

Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup
Sat, 08 Mar 2014Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.
Production of Shelby GT350 is coming to an end
Fri, 26 Jul 2013One Autoblog staffer who drove the limited-edition Shelby GT350 wrote it probably was the best Mustang he'd driven, but, at some point, the fun had to come to an end: December 31 is the last day the GT350 will be available to order.
The GT350's option list has evolved much like it did for the original 1965-67 GT350. For 2011, the 45th Anniversary edition only came in coupe form and was painted white with blue stripes, just as with the 1965 car. The 2012 GT350 was offered as a coupe or convertible, and three colors were added to the option list, just like the 1966 model. For 2013, more colors and options were added in addition to equipment and styling updates, which resulted in Wilwood instead of Baer brakes. No major changes were made for the 2014 model. From the first car in 2011, customers have been able to choose between three different configurations for their 5.0-liter V8: naturally aspirated with 440 horsepower, supercharged with 525 hp (with warranty) or supercharged with 624 hp (without warranty).
"When we unveiled this latest version of the Shelby GT350, we promised it would be built for a limited time to preserve its collectability and value," states John Luft, president of Shelby American. He may have a point, because the original GT350, which also had a limited production run, is among the most valuable muscle cars in the world.
Ford will probably never offer two RS models at the same time
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Autocar has some sour news for fans of go-fast Ford products. According to Roelant de Waard, Ford's president of marketing in Europe, the automaker will probably never offer more than one RS performance model for sale at the same time. That statement runs contrary earlier rumblings that suggested Ford would launch its next-generation Focus RS in 2015 and follow the hatch with a spate of other vehicles with an RS badge. But de Waard has made it clear that Ford of Europe is now focused on squarely on the next Mustang, even though there may be more RS models on the way eventually.
"What is clear is that the RS shouldn't be a series, or a car badge that we have in our portfolio all the time. It is an extreme car - something more than ST," he said.
That philosophy makes plenty of sense. We loved the old Focus RS - shown above in RS500 trim - because it was generally bonkers and plenty exclusive. Diluting either aspect is sure to end in disappointment for everyone involved.
