Ford Galaxie 500 Xl Convertible 1967 on 2040-cars
Schenectady, New York, United States
I have owned this car since 2/2011. It has been in my garage when not in use. It is a "25 footer". It looks great from 25 ft. away. It is not a show car. It is a solid runner , on the road and NYS inspected. The 390 motor is powerful and solid, no lifter noise or anything like that. The transmission shifts fine. The interior is newer and in great shape. The top is also newer but the plastic window zipper is not compatible with the top. The installation was done prior to my ownership. The power top mechanics work well. In 3 years of ownership I have had the following items replaced; power brake booster, wiper motor, battery, starter, turn signal lever, flasher, rear brake shoes & drums, axle & bearing seals, u joint.
The tires still have new tire nubbins on them. The floor pans will need to be replaced. I took the car to 2 body shops and they stated that the frame will need work in 3-5 years. There are a few quarter size holes the the frame but it is still solid. All gauges work except the clock & notice there is no radio or antenna. I have no way of knowing what the real mileage of the car is. The car is parked with a battery tender device and always starts right up. When the tender is not in use the battery would be dead after a few weeks so there is leakage somewhere in this almost 50 yr. old car. There is no jack or spare but I think i have a rim and tire they will be included with the sale. Also included is a full size cloth car cover. Please do not waste our time with low-ball offers. I travel a great deal with my work & yet will help any serious prospective buyers questions etc The buyer is fully responsible for pick up. If you want to use 1 of those inspection services I will try to accommodate. Good luck bidding!! |

Ford to add more than 2,000 jobs in Kansas City
Thu, 02 May 2013Continued high demand for the Ford F-150, along with the addition of the all-new Transit series of commercial vehicles, has led Ford to announce that it will add over 2,000 jobs at its Kansas City Assembly Plant. At the time of the announcement, the plant boasts 2,450 hourly employees working on two shifts. All told, Ford will invest $1.1 billion in the Kansas City plant to expand truck production and begin producing the Transit series.
According to the automaker, fullsize truck sales are up 19 percent through April of 2013, leading to an additional 900 workers and a third shift of production for the F-150. Production of the Transit series will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, requiring an additional 1,100 workers. In addition, Ford estimates that a total of 18,000 jobs will be created by suppliers to its Kansas City plant to support the additional vehicle production.

Motor Trend pits Subaru WRX vs. Ford Focus ST
Thu, 23 Jan 2014The Ford Focus ST has enjoyed a relatively calm, if brief, reign in the world of hot hatches. With nothing else in the class (in the States, at least) but the aging Mazdaspeed3 and Subaru Impreza WRX and the slow-selling Volkswagen Golf R, the Blue Oval's 252-horsepower five door has been the go-to vehicle for those that don't need the high-octane lunacy (and expense) of the rally bred Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.
Now, though, as the new Subaru WRX (it's not an Impreza anymore, though, neither is it a hatchback...) starts to arrive at dealers, the Focus ST appears to be under threat for the first time. Naturally, Motor Trend is here to figure out which one is the best, with another one of its Head 2 Head videos. Host Jonny Lieberman puts both cars through their paces, going above and beyond, quite literally, at the very end of the video.
