i FOUND THIS CAR ABOUT 15 MILES FROM MY HOUSE SITTING IN A OPEN BARN BEHIND A HOUSE, I STOPPED AND ASKED IF IT WAS FOR SALE AND A 85 YEAR OLD LADY CAME TO THE DOOR AND SAID HER HUSBAND HAD PASSED AWAY 8 MONTHS AGO AND SHE PRICED IT AND I BOUGHT. I HAULED IT HOME IT WAS OUT OF GAS, I TOOK THE BREATHER OFF PUT 5 GALLONS OF GAS IN IT AND A LITTLE IN THE CARB AND IT FIRED RIGHT UP. I THEN DROVE THE CAR ABOUT 20 MILES GOT IT UP TO 80MPH AND RAN GREAT. THE AIR IS NOT COLD BUT THE COMPRESSOR IS NOT LOCKED UP SO I THINK A LITTLE FREON WOULD DO THE JOB. THE BRAKES AND STEERING IS ALL GOOD. TIRES ARE ALSO GOOD. CAR HAS BEEN REPAINTED IN THE PAST. SHE DID NOT KNOW MUCH OTHER THAN IT HAD BEEN A FEW YEARS SINCE IT HAD BEEN DRIVEN, THE TOP IS ALSO IN GREAT SHAPE. HAS A WORKING POWER TOP. INTERIOR LOOKS ORIGINAL BUT GOOD SHAPE. TRUNK LOOKS REALLY GOOD WITH NO RUST IN IT. THERE IS SOME RUST BEHIND THE BACK OF CONVERTIBLE TOP IN FRONT OF THE TRUNK. WOULD MAKE A GREAT CRUISER AS IS OR RESTORE TO SHOW QUALITY. Ford demonstrates Mustang's new Line Lock burnout feature
Tue, 22 Apr 2014Been saving your pennies for a 2015 Ford Mustang? Put in a few extra shifts or some overtime? Got a great down payment ready? Well, however much you saved for your new pony car, start saving more - you'll need the extra money to spend on tires.
That's because the Mustang will come with a system called Line Lock, which can lock the front brakes electronically, allowing drivers to perform big, dumb, smoky burnouts without moving so much as an inch. It's sort of like launch control, only the average driver might actually use it.
Now, line locks aren't uncommon, particularly in drag racing. Usually, a flip of the switch locks the front brakes. The Mustang, besides offering the system from the factory which is unique in and of itself, looks a bit more involved.
Toyota, Ford and Honda again top Consumer Reports Car-Brand Perception Survey
Fri, 01 Feb 2013Consumer Reports has released its annual Car-Brand Perception Survey, and the list looks awfully familiar. The top six brands are identical to last year's results, with Toyota, Ford and Honda continuing to occupy the podium. All told, Toyota walked away with 133 points, putting it 15 ahead of second-place Ford. Honda jumped 26 points this year, narrowing Ford's lead to just four points in total.
Consumer Reports polls buyers from across the country on how they see multiple brands in seven categories, including quality, safety, value, performance, design/style, technology/innovation and environmentally friendly/green. Researchers then combine the findings to come up with the total brand score.
While value and performance remain important to buyers, CR found quality and safety are still on top when it comes to significance. Scion and Mitsubishi found themselves at the bottom of the pack with the worst score of all, tied at just six points. Ram, Fiat and Mini filled out the lowest five with scores of seven, eight and 10 points, respectively. 2015 Ford Mustang production starts in Flat Rock
Thu, 28 Aug 2014Today's the day, Ford fans. Production has officially commenced on the sixth-generation 2015 Mustang at the company's Flat Rock, MI factory. As production ramps up, sales should kick off in the coming months.
The production news isn't just a bit deal for American fans. With the new Mustang getting a bespoke right-hand-drive variant, the pony car's worldwide availability has swollen to include 120 different countries, including its home nation.
"Mustang is and will continue to be an automotive icon," Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas, said in a statement. "Expanding its availability globally affords our customers around the world the opportunity to have a true firsthand Mustang experience - one unlike any other."
