1968 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertable Base 5.0l on 2040-cars
Clarinda, Iowa, United States
hi i have a 1968 ford galaxie 500 convertible for sale that i am basicly selling for the drivetrain it has beautiful powdercoated frame radiator support and rear end has all new bushings seals, shocks springs, and brakes (disc on the front and drum on the back). if you wanted to take the body off this car and swap frames with your car this would be the perfect one for the job, would be cheaper and faster than sandblasting yours down and spending time with powdercoating. the body is in over all ok shape the inside is completely stripped but is rock solid has floor pan and trunk pan work done on it the 302 came with just the block and not sure if it is original or not the transmission is an automatic with overdrive that has been sandblasted and rebuilt it has boxes and boxes of parts and the trunk is full of parts you could probably put it back together but i would not go through the trouble we bought this car with the intentions of doing a frame swap with my 68 fastback xl but took the easy way out and bought a done car so this car is sitting in the shed now... this is a texas car with texas title. pLease if you have and questions or concerns or help with shipping please give me a call or text im sure there is somethings i have missed 1 712 303 0822. serious inquires only no scammers. DO NOT BID IF YOU DON"T INTEND ON PAYING thank you. and if you would like more pics please let me know.
On Mar-08-14 at 23:12:36 PST, seller added the following information: yes some one did bring up something that i did miss. the original color of the car is gold i will put some pics on tomorrow of the inner rear fenders and the interior showing to gold most thanks for bringing it up plz let me know if i missed anything else. |

Leno chooses his top 10 Mustangs
Sat, 14 Jun 2014He may be a few months late to the party, but in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, Jay Leno has delivered a short video in which he runs down which of the Blue Oval's pony cars from the past 50 years are his favorites.
The list is pretty darn similar to our own, with some of the big names from the Mustang's half century making an appearance, while there are three or four cars here that we think you'll be pretty surprised by.
Take a look below for this short video from Jay Leno's Garage.
Long winter means most automakers won't curb summer shutdown
Sun, 18 May 2014A lot more happened during this latest brutal winter than days of snow and Netflix binges. Automotive sales took a battering. After all, going out car shopping when it's eleventy-billion degrees below zero isn't a good time.
Because of this Old Man Winter-induced sales slump, inventories are abnormally high as we head into the summer car buying season. That's led some analysts to predict that automakers will be more inclined to idle factories this summer, in a bid to trim some of the built-up inventory. Traditionally, American manufacturers offer up a two-week break in the middle of summer, although the burgeoning sales of the past few years have seen this practice become less popular.
"We're likely not going to see an acceleration this year," Jeff Schuster, a senior vice president at LMC Automotive, told The Detroit News. "We'll see production increases in 'pockets' but I don't know if it will be as widespread as in recent years."
Alan Mulally talks about why Ford's Falcon had to die
Tue, 20 Aug 2013When Ford made the decision to end production of the Falcon sedan and Territory CUV in Australia, it wasn't a popular move Down Under. The large, four-door Falcon had been in production for 50 years, and while Ford has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian market, it's understandable that some people still aren't all that crazy about the Blue Oval's decision.
Speaking to CEO Alan Mulally after Ford's Go Further event in Sydney, Australian site Go Auto reports that the decision was not one made lightly, and that the automaker is doing everything possible to respect the Falcon and Territory's "stakeholders." It's an interesting piece that shows a softer side of a corporation, while demonstrating that Ford is doing everything in its power to make the end of production as smooth as possible for all parties.
Head over to Go Auto for the full series of remarks from Mulally, and then let us know what you think of Ford's handling of the Falcon and Territory discontinuations, in Comments.
