I'm selling my 67 Galaxie 500 this car NEEDS to be restored I started the work last year and got a bad back injury so I have to sell it . When I got it the engine was seized up so I removed the front cap and the engine took me two days to take the thing apart it had broken a rod . The engine is at the machine shop was going to have it rebuilt , just haven't had the time. Wrights machine shop Fayetteville ,Tennessee (931) 433-5845 incase you want to check on it . I will pick it up and it goes with the car it is numbers matching . Mr. Wright said it has some slight scratches in 2 of the bores but it is ok and can be built. No money is owed on it I just have to go get it . I will before the auction ends have it here with the car. The transmission is good and works. The interior is in really good shape and I feel should not be changed with the exception of the door panels they could used a little love maybe can be saved the boards are great. It does have a few dents that need to be fixed and the passenger side rear tail light is cracked. The floor pans are in great shape along with the trunk. I have all the parts for the car except front bumper, alternator, trunk lock. All the glass is good and the chrome trim to my best knowledge . Reflecting on the Ford GT on its 10-year anniversary
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Ten years ago, during the bright-eyed enthusiasm of the early 2000s and before the collective automotive industry did its best Titanic impression, we had the Ford GT. An everyman's supercar like there'd never been (remember, this was before 638-horsepower Corvettes were a thing), the GT arrived with a supercharged, 5.4-liter V8 that produced 550 horsepower and graced this retro-styled rocket with an easy, sub-four-second sprint to 60 miles per hour.
Equal to the GT's performance were its looks. Inspired by the GT40 racers that dominated Le Mans and bested Ferrari in the 1960s, the sleek, low, almost-reptilian look of the GT was the absolute pinnacle of the retro styling that so defined the early 2000s.
Crank and Piston put together a video celebrating the ten-year-old GT, arguing that Ford is a bit too busy with the next-gen Mustang, which turns 50 next week, to do it themselves. In the short clip, there is gratuitous engine noise and supercharger whine, not to mention scenes of the white-on-red GT prowling the deserts and streets of Dubai. It's a bit short, but very nicely shot. Scroll down, have a look and be sure to turn up those speakers before getting started.
Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."
Vaughn Gittin Jr. takes his dog for a drift
Tue, 09 Sep 2014
Vaughn Gittin Jr. spends a great deal of his workday going sideways, but he's usually alone in the endeavor. For a guy that is clearly a dog lover, we imagine that can get a bit lonely.
That won't be a problem for Gittin in this latest video, which features the racer hanging out with his good pal Brody (a dog) and everyone's favorite hot hatch, the Ford Fiesta ST.
