1967 Ford Galaxie 500 Base 4.7l on 2040-cars
Simpsonville, South Carolina, United States
For sale is my 1967 Ford Galaxie V8, automatic 3 speed 289 with tree on the column. It has front and back bench seats with no rips or tears, but color fading on the top of front bench seat. Dash has a crack and steering wheel has cracks in material. Car starts and runs good, I use it to cruise around on the weekend and local errands on my days off if the weather is nice. I have owned it for about a year and I replaced the brake pads, thermostat, and had a mechanic rebuild the carburetor and tune it up. I usually warm it up for about 5 minutes before I drive it and it cruises down the road and even runs 70mph fine on the HWY (although I prefer to use back roads to just cruise when possible). I have owned the car for about a year and at first I had plans to put a 5.0 mustang engine and completely redo the interior but then my wife and I bought our dream house so the funds for this project are gone and I honestly have just moved on to a 2002 Mazda Miata convertible as my cruising vehicle (which is small but I love for anyone who is considering one). I still start the Galaxie up and will run it until it is sold so it is not just sitting around. I love the looks of this car but I was not using it enough and just decided to buy something that my wife and I could drive around the mountain roads, have fun and get good gas mileage. My mechanic told me that if I wanted to make it a daily driver but keep the same engine I should at least update to a new carburetor. I can take a video for those who want to see and hear it run, and I can send any additional pictures upon request, please just text me at 864-906-7884 Patrick. If I did not need a truck to haul hay for our goats and mini horses I would keep this Galaxie and slowly make upgrades to it. However, the funds from this sale will afford me to buy a truck, but I am not in a hurry nor desperate since my parents have a truck that I just borrow when I need one for now. |

2015 Ford Mustang option prices gallop onto the web
Tue, 22 Apr 2014The 2015 Ford Mustang is one of the most anticipated cars of the year, despite the fact that production hasn't yet begun. What's a pony car fan to do? It turns out that Ford already has pricing and options information about the vehicle in its dealer ordering system. A few enterprising folks have snapped some pictures from it and have posted them online. You might not be able to drive your car yet, but you can at least see what it might cost.
At the moment, Ford appears to be splitting the Mustang into five models - 3.7-liter V6, 2.3-liter EcoBoost, GT with the 5.0-liter V8, 50th Anniversary and SVT. There are 10 available paint colors, 2 of which require an extra outlay. Triple Yellow is $495, and Ruby Red Tint is $395. Regardless of model, navigation goes for $795, and reverse parking assist is $295.
For both the EcoBoost and GT, the six-speed automatic tacks an extra $1,195 to the sticker, and adaptive cruise control is the same price. The GT also has a limited-slip 3.55 rear end for $395 and a GT Performance package for $2,495. Recaro leather seats add an extra $1,595. For the EcoBoost, there's something called EcoBoost Performance package for $1,995. The system doesn't say what the packages include.
Ford Focus PHEV on the way?
Tue, Jan 21 2014A refreshed Ford Focus is in the works and that means a few details are leaking out. Spy shots from last month indicated the Focus will have a gaping grille just like its "One Ford" global C-segment comrade, the Fiesta. While Ford is being quiet about it, the Focus could also be getting an "Energi" option, joining the C-Max Energi and Fusion Energi in Ford's plug-in hybrid family. The Focus will likely use technology originated in the C-Max Energi that combines a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor capable of a 20-mile range, according to Autoexpress. The pure electric Focus is expected to stay in the lineup despite its slow sales; its price range should be similar to what's on the market now. The third-generation Focus looked good enough to become the top-selling nameplate in the world in 2012. Some exterior changes to look for in the Euro-spec model at the Geneva Motor Show in March include a reshaped hood, front wing endplate and rear bumper. Interior spy shots have hinted at an updated dashboard design and a simplified, less cluttered control panel with updated climate controls. Under the hood, there are quite a few power options rumored to be available - a gasoline EcoBoost with up to 123 horsepower and two turbo-diesel TDCI options, a 1.6-liter or 2.0-liter mills that would produce between 94 hp and 161 hp. Then there are new 1.5-liter diesel and 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline variants that meet regulations in China, Brazil and Russia.
UK auto magazine says this is the best car commercial of all time [w/videos]
Thu, 20 Dec 2012There have been many great car commercials over the years, but is it possible to define the best? Well, Ad Week recently took a crack at it by rating the top commercials of the year by looking at their view counts on YouTube, but Auto Express took a more democratic approach by putting the decision to a vote. Just after Thanksgiving, Auto Express came up with a list of the 20 popular commercials, and it tasked its readers with choosing the winner for the best car ad of all time. The winner? Honda's 2003 commercial for its then-new European Accord titled "The Cog."
While the ad never aired in the US, most car people have surely seen the impressive Rube Goldberg-style spot. In fact, the only commercial on this list that we saw on US television was the Volkswagen ad "The Force," but many of the others have become viral videos, including transforming and dancing Citroën C4. Of the 19 other commercials that vied for the title of best ad of all time, only the Ford Puma "Steve McQueen" commercial gave Honda a run for its advertising money.
Scroll down to watch Auto Express' top five commercial in order and to check out a press release, then let us know some of your favorite car commercials in Comments.
