1967 Ford Galaxie 500 on 2040-cars
Chantilly, Virginia, United States
1967 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback with the factory 390 Big Block 2 bbl with almost 83,000 original miles. Car has been parked under shelter most of its life and garage kept since 2009. Comes with a rare factory tissue dispenser, AM/FM radio, air conditioning and power steering. Everything is in great shape NO rust and it drives good. The car was repainted in the 70’s and shows pretty well however there are a couple small cosmetic dents that were never fixed before paint and an area on the hood with imperfect paint. The bumpers, mirrors, headlight and taillight bezels have been re-chromed with the pot metal mirrors and bezels showing a couple of imperfections the rest of the trim shows well but their aging. The steering wheel and dash board has a crack. The headliner is perfect but the panels next to the rear window appear dirty but not warped. Everything but the clock works great on the car including gauges, lights and AC. I installed new upper, lower control arm bushings, shocks and springs while cleaning and repainting the areas as I went. Brakes and brake lines look and feel good, I replaced the master cylinder and a wheel cylinder, Starts right up and runs great with oil changes having been made at least once a year when driven. Spare tire has never been out. Needs new tires, window felt, Carpet is original. It’s a 47 year old car that needs some TLC and cleaning. The car has never been wrecked and I don't believe there is any putty. |

Ford mulling EcoSport for US? [w/poll]
Mon, 03 Jun 2013"We certainly have that ability. We're studying it very, very closely." Those are the words of Jim Farley, global head of sales, marketing, service at Ford. The investigation Farley is referring to is the possibility of selling the company's new EcoSport crossover in America.
The diminutive Fiesta-based EcoSport was developed for emerging markets like Brazil and, more recently, China, but it apparently may have a future in the States, where it would form a new entry-level rung below the Escape in Ford's already robust crossover stable. Ford has big plans for its tiny CUV - Farley tells Automotive News that the EcoSport is only available in 10 countries right now, but by 2017, its distribution will have mushroomed to 62 countries. At the time the second-generation model launched at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show as a 2013 model, Ford said the EcoSport would eventually be sold in nearly 100 markets worldwide.
The Brazilian- and Indian-assembled EcoSport is available with a variety of gasoline-powered engines, but the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder EcoBoost giving 118 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque would seem to be the powertrain of choice for America, as it was recently confirmed for the stateside 2014 Fiesta.
We spy the Ford Mustang King Cobra early at SEMA
Tue, 04 Nov 2014As is the case with most auto shows, waiting for the reveal of hot new models is the worst part. So, while our own Drew Phillips has been wandering the halls here in Las Vegas since they unlocked the doors for SEMA 2014, we didn't expect him to come back with any big reveals until later in the day. Until this happened.
Meandering by the Ford stand, Phillips eagle-eyed a trunk lid that caught his attention. Popping out from an otherwise draped 2015 Mustang, the matte black lid clearly has the name King Cobra embossed on the rear.
That name is interesting for a few reasons: to start, Ford hasn't used the Cobra name (without "Jet" attached) since way back in 2004, so a new snake is certainly something to take note of. Second, the King Cobra name dates all the way back to the ill-remembered Mustang II, meaning there is a clear link to Blue Oval history here.
