For sale is a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 with the very rare 7 Litre option. This car comes with it's original 428 which has been rebuilt along with it's matching C-6 transmission. The engine has been upgraded with a Cobra Jet cam, Edelbrock performer manifold , Hooker Super Comp headers, Crane electronic ignition and Holley 750 vacuum secondary carb. The alternator and power steering pump are new and the radiator has been rebuilt. Recent upgrades include a Hurst Quarter stick shifter, Turbo action valve body and Hurst line loc. The rear end is the original with traction loc and 4.11 gears and Hoosier 30" Drag Radials. The car has Crites fiberglass bumpers and hood but will come with 2 original hoods, one of which has the under hood light option. I have every piece of 7 Litre trim that will also come with the car(sorry no trunk spear). The car has brand new 7 Litre specific power disk brakes, all new drums, brake lines and the correct Kelsey Hayes rims up front. Other upgrades include a mechanical oil and temp guage (the original dash lights still work) new gas tank, body mount rubber, coil springs and Spohn lower and upper control arms (the originals will come with the car). I currently present the car as a Nostalgia B/FX 60's era race car but anything removed from the car has been saved and can be re installed. This car has run in the low 14's with 1.80 sixty foot times with a 5100 RPM rev limiter to protect the original drive train. The car was recently displayed at the York Nostalgia Nationals. Ford books $2.6B pretax quarterly profit

While its crosstown competitors at General Motors are smarting over a drastic drop in net income to $200 million in the second quarter, Ford has reason to celebrate. The Blue Oval has announced its own Q2 financial results, including a growing net income of $1.3 billion, a $78 million increase over last year. Pretax profits for the company reached $2.6 billion, up $44 million from 2013, but total revenue dropped slightly to $37.4 billion, down from $37.9 billion. Profits per share before one-time charges totaled 40 cents per share, beating Wall Street analysts' expectations of 36 cents a share.
Regionally, the Blue Oval performed strongly, as well. North America posted a record quarterly pre-tax profit of $2.4 billion, a $119 million increase. Europe also showed signs of turn around with its first profit in three years of $14 million after a loss of $306 million in Q2 2013. Ford is actually predicting profitability in the troubled region in 2015. Asia Pacific operations also performed well with $159 million in profits, up $29 million from last year. The only region where the business posted a loss was South America.
According to Automotive News, Ford also announced more precise plans about the changeover to build the aluminum-intensive 2015 F-150. In August, the Dearborn plant will shutdown for eight weeks to retool and its Kansas City plant will do the same next year.

As a television series, Top Gear is in limbo with an intent to return, but no hosts yet. However, it's magazine and website continue to bring us clips like this one. While the video might lack the show's charismatic hosts, this is an opportunity to see a drag race between a Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR with 550 horsepower and a Hennessey VelociRaptor with 623 hp. The duel between these two supercharged V8s definitely sounds great. Both rugged models start at the line growling angrily at each other like dogs ready for a fight. You have to watch the clip to see whether the more powerful VelociRaptor feeds on the SVR, though. Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow

Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:
