Summer is almost here!!
No Reserve!!
Here is my 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible that I have decided to sell at no reserve! I have had this car for several years, but I just haven't driven much at all. Too many cars! Anyway, this Galaxie runs very well and drives good. It has a smooth and powerful 460 V8 in it. Engine runs well with no smoke or noises. Mileage on the engine is unknown. The exhaust is good with a nice low runble. You could just double check the break system and put a new top on it and drive the car around all summer and then maybe restore it next winter if desired. The tires have good tread but are fairly old. The mag wheels clean up well and have good shine, but the caps are rusted. The 46,971 mileage on the odometer is likely over 100,000.
As can be seen in the pictures, the exterior body does have some rust and bondo. The front floors are original and solid. The back floors have been patched. The trunk floor has also been patched. I have a whole rear tail panel with taillights from another '66 to replace the rusted out section of the rear panel as shown in the pictures. The passenger side frame rail has a small hole in it shown in the pictures. The rest of the frame looks good.
The interior of this Galaxie is the original 500 XL bucket seat interior. It is in decent condition with some staining and a hole in the back seat from a rodent. It could benefit from a good cleaning. The carpet needs replacing. You will also need a new battery.
All in all, this car could be driven without restoring right away. The 500 XL's are nice cars and becoming more desirable. It is a very comfortable car to drive. I have a clear title in my name and will sell to overseas buyers. I do not accept bids from "0" feedback Ebayers because they are usually non-payers. I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time if I get an acceptable offer before the end of the auction.

Ford doubling 1.0L EcoBoost engine production
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine hasn't been around that long, but it sounds like the engine is getting to be fairly popular in the automaker's global car lineup. The Detroit News is reporting that Ford has add a second shift that will allow its German engine plant to double daily output from 500 engines to 1,000.
The increased capacity is part of a plan to sell more than 300,000 vehicles a year with this engine in Europe by 2015. Europe is currently the only market where the smallest of the EcoBoost engines is offered (including in the Focus pictured above), but US-spec Fiesta models will be getting this mill for 2014.
Three-cylinder engines are expected to continue to grow in popularity in coming years with the report indicating that global production of these engines will double by 2018 to 9.8 million units. General Motors, BMW and Mitsubishi are all expected to introduce three-cylinder engines in the near term, as well.
2015 Ford Mustang specs revealed, GT to pack 435 HP
Thu, 17 Jul 2014The 2015 Ford Mustang sounds great so far - at least on paper. Ford has just announced specs for the latest version of the iconic pony car in Dearborn, telling Autoblog that it will pump out as much as 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque from its 5.0-liter V8.
Those gaudy figures power the naturally aspirated GT model, and they easily eclipse the "more than" 420 hp and 390 lb-ft that Ford originally estimated.
The 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder makes 310 hp and 320 lb-ft, and it's the first turbo Mustang since the 1986 SVO.
European car sales up 8% in February
Sat, 22 Mar 2014Three weeks ago an analyst increased projections for European car sales this year, expecting them to climb three percent compared to last year instead of 2.7 percent. That number is a postive sign after years of hard times but it turns out February was especially good, overall European sales climbing eight percent on a wave of southern European recovery and discounts - and this comes after five months of gains including January's 7.2-percent jump over the year before.
The only country of Europe's five largest markets to post a decline was France, just as it did in January, Germany, the UK and Italy posting solid double-digit numbers, Spain rocking the charts with an 18-percent increase because of a government program to encourage trade-ins.
The only brand to miss the wave was Volkswagen, dropping 0.8 percent as it watched the double-digit growth at sister brands Audi, Seat and Skoda lift the Volkswagen Group sales up by seven-percent. Peugeot overcame flat sales at Citroën to improve the group by 3.5 percent, BMW and the Mercedes-Benz/Smart combo rose by four percent, the Fiat group jumped 5.8 percent, Ford was up 11 percent, the Renault Group 11.5 percent, General Motors 12 percent and the Toyota clan by 14 percent.
