1964 FORD GALAXY 500 restoration project.

Additional information and photos will be put on
www.ThePickerChick.com

It has a 289 engine, that turns over and I have started it up.  The car does not have a battery or an air cleaner.  There are no keys, I am waiting on the title to come in the mail.  If you are an over-seas buyer, I can  deliver to your shipper for an additional charge.  The seats are in it, but it needs all new interior. Cancer on the drivers floor board, in the trunk; it needs a new trunk pan, on the drivers side by the back window, and some on drip rail.  The car comes with a matching set of 1963 license plates.  It needs a serious cleaning.  One of the wheels is a truck wheel, I believe.  The other three match. It is missing a hood spring.  It has a tow hitch mounted on it.   All the glass is in it, windows roll up, but the glass needs to be cleaned as well.  Please ask all questions before placing your bid.  This is a great find and these cars are beautiful when restored.

Also, please check my other listings for gas pumps, gas pump globes, vintage signs, and other items.  I have sold over 630 gas pumps in the past couple of years, over 1500 signs, over 120 globes, as well as cars, car parts, and other items.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.

The history and future of the Ford Bronco

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Some have suggested that the Bronco's demise was hastened by the fallout from the O.J. trial.
Twenty years ago today, ex-NFL linebacker Al "A.C." Cowlings drove his friend and onetime running back Orenthal James "O.J." Simpson on a parade lap of the Los Angeles highway system and onto an ignoble page of the history books. If you're in your late 20s or older, or a fastidious young student of 1990s American history, you're absolutely aware that Al and O.J.'s steed for the 'chase' was a white Ford Bronco. The white Ford Bronco, even.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters

Sun, 28 Sep 2014

The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.
