1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner Convertible V8 Automatic Power Steering Black on 2040-cars
Scotts Valley, California, United States
This auction is for a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner convertible. Body 76A, color A, trim 56, date 08B, axle 1, trans 4, serial number 2D65X130555, mileage believed to be 166202. This car is equipped with a 352 cu in V8, automatic transmission, and power steering. The engine runs good and transmission shifts as it should. The tires are good but a few years old. The convertible top is inoperative, appears to be a problem with the hydraulic pump, top material is fair. The car has new dual exhaust, new brake master cylinder, new power steering pump, hoses control valve and ram (still has small leak).New springs, new ball joints, new control arm bushings, new tie rod ends, new radiator hoses. Some extra small parts. Radio not working. Very small rock chip in right side of windshield (not noticeable). Older repaint with some cracking. Left 1/4 panel replaced in past. The car is located in Central Coastal California and I would encourage interested parties to come and look in person or hire a professional to evaluate before bidding. We believe the car was originally from Texas, I was not able to find any rust through areas. The frame, floor, trunk, rockers, and doors all appear to be very solid. We will not arrange shipping but will cooperate and assist in loading after all funds have been successfully verified by our bank. No sales outside the continental US. This is a very nice driver quality Sunliner convertible that you can drive and enjoy, it draws a crowd wherever it goes. I'm helping a friend sell this car,
Good luck with your bidding |

Ford recalls 1.3 million Fusions, MKZs: Steering wheels could come off
Wed, Mar 14 2018When driving a car, the steering wheel is only expected to move in a rotational fashion, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. When it moves in some other direction, something is wrong, and when it moves the wrong way enough that it is no longer attached to the steering column, that's a really, really bad thing. And apparently, according to a recall issued by Ford, there are over 1.3 million Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs that are at risk of this happening. And at least two accidents and one injury have been attributed to the issue. Ford says the problem is that the steering wheel bolt that keeps the wheel attached to the column might not provide enough torque, resulting in the bolt slowly loosening and working its way off the column. The good news is that the fix is really simple. Ford will install a larger bolt with more threads along with a larger nylon patch to keep it all locked down. The fix is completely free to owners. Cars affected by the recall include 2014 to 2017 Fusions built built at the Flat Rock plant in Michigan between August 6, 2013, and February 29, 2016. Model year 2014-2018 Fusions and MKZs built at the Hermosillo factory in Mexico are also affected. So if you have one of those sedans, please get in touch with your local dealer to have the issue addressed. Related Video:
Ford profiles surprisingly affluent Focus ST buyers
Fri, 08 Nov 2013It comes as no surprise when Ford says that 32-percent of Focus ST buyers are under 35, but we weren't expecting this: the average annual salary of Focus ST buyers is $127,000. Twenty-two percent of non-ST Focus buyers are under 35, while their average annual salary is $67,000.
We like the Focus ST because it has 252 horsepower, is genuinely fun to drive and offers great value for performance-minded car enthusiasts; facts that are not lost on customers, it seems. Ford says that the Focus ST has the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid model it sells, and that the top-four trade-ins are from Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. Demand for the hot Focus is strongest in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Orlando.
"[The Focus ST is] having this kind of halo effect for other vehicles we'd hoped for when we invested in the ST brand," says John Felice, vice president of US marketing, sales and service, because it's helping to boost sales of other Ford vehicles.
Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang is a lean, mean, Z/28-fighting machine [w/video]
Mon, 17 Nov 2014If there's one thing you can count on, it's that the renewed rivalry between the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro will never, ever cease. For every version of Ford's pony car, there's an equally potent Chevrolet. And so with the debut of the Camaro Z/28 earlier this year, Ford has responded with a track-focused 'Stang of its own, resurrecting the Shelby GT350 name.
It looks to be a fine piece of work, this Mustang, with power coming from a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 that will produce "more than 500 horsepower" and "above 400" pound-feet of torque. That grunt runs to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, and a Torsen limited-slip differential keeps everything in line.
But that's hardly the most impressive piece of the GT350 puzzle. Ford has increased the Mustang GT's chassis stiffness for duty here in the Shelby, and the coupe employs MagneRide damping which automatically adjusts based on road conditions and driver inputs. It's a first both for the Blue Oval and for the segment. And speaking of firsts, the GT350 uses a flat-plane crankshaft - something Ford has never included in a production V8 before.
