You are bidding on a 1962 ford galaxie 500 2 door hardtop. Originally a white on red car with a 352 and cruisomatic. Car was built in Los Angeles, CA. From what I've been told from the previous owner, it now has a later 390 ford big block with a cruisomatic trans. Motor runs great and trans shifts good. Chrome headers, 2 1/2" exhaust with flowmasters. Interior is very nice. The car needs minor body work and paint, the floors are solid. The only signs of notable rust are in a lip under the front roof and in two lower parts of the passenger rear wheel well and front driver's door, also under the chrome on the deck lid. No major rust issues. Looks like the roof has been repaired in places, but seems very solid to me. The front end will need to be looked at. The car drives straight, but there is a clunk when turning (possibly control arm bushings and a rag joint). The heater is not hooked up, but the fan works great. All electrical in very good shape. Not much to get this thing sturdy for the road. The car needs attention from someone who has time to finish it. I have some of the chrome trim off of the car right now and in total I have 98 percent of all the chrome for it that will go with the car. The car has new brakes and axle seals. I also have a new fuel pump for the car. Any questions, please feel free to contact me . 949 six zero 7- eight 6 seven 0. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Winning bidder is fully responsible for payment and shipping arrangements. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the final bid date. A cleared cashier's check or cash is my only acceptance of payment from the winning bidder. Good luck and happy bidding!

Enterprise working with renter's insurance to cover $47k Mustang stolen from its lot
Sat, 11 Jan 2014There was more than a bit of public indigence following the recent story of Enterprise Rent-A-Car billing a customer $47,000 to replace a Ford Mustang GT Convertible stolen from a Nova Scotia lot. To recap: Kristen Cockerill rented the Mustang for two days, returned it to the lot on a Sunday and left the keys in a secure dropbox only for Enterprise employees to find the car gone the next day.
Despite Enterprise policies stating that customers are responsible for vehicles dropped on off-days, the company has admitted that the situation could've been handled a bit better.
In a recent statement, Enterprise has backed off the big-bill story, and claims to be working with Cockerill and her insurance company to resolve the issue. Further, the Enterprise general manager overseeing Nova Scotia has spoken with the harried renter, and apologized "for the way this claim was handled during the last few months."
Ford moving medium-duty F-Series production from Mexico to Ohio
Thu, 27 Feb 2014
A few more Ford trucks will be built in the US in the near future with news that production of the F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks will move from Mexico to Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, OH. Ford hasn't confirmed a precise timeline for the move, but The Detroit News claims the Blue Oval will make the shift later this year or in early 2015.
As Ford spokesperson Mike Levine reminded us, back in 2011, Ford announced in an investor release that it would shift production "after the [Ohio] plant stops current production of the Ford E-Series vans." According to that release, the Ohio factory will also receive $128 million in upgrades to build the new trucks, plus the F53 motorhome chassis and F59 commercial chassis.
Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150
Wed, 09 Apr 2014The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.
