I'm reluctantly selling my 1962 Ford Galaxie. I don't have the space to keep it, nor the time or resources to improve it and give it the good life it deserves.
It's a great car that I'd drive anywhere and have put a ton of trouble-free miles on. Details: Engine/trans.: Rebuilt roller cam 302 and world class Mustang T5. Engine has about 20-25k miles on rebuild. Has Trickflow Stage 1 roller cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Edelbrock 600 carb w/ electric choke. Mustang shorty headers, 2-1/2" exhaust w/ H-pipe, Flowmaster mufflers. Factory 9" rear w/ 3.70 gears. Gets 20-21 mpg on the highway. Slight driveline vibration over 65 mph that I believe may be caused by a bent axle. The reason I think this is the fact that I've put three left axle bearings in the car during the past 50k miles. I had planned on replacing the left axle, just haven't gotten to it yet. Suspension: RideTech airbag system. Airbags front and rear with electronic 4-way control. Front bags replaced coil springs, shocks relocated behind A-arms. Front suspension was completely rebuilt about 30k miles ago, including the steering box. Front spindles are Ford Granada with disc brakes - less than 5k miles on front brake components. Master cylinder is a disc/drum unit, also from a Ford Granada. Manual brakes, manual steering. Rear is factory leaf springs with two leaves removed on each side, 2" lowering blocks installed, and 'helper' type airbags installed. Compressor, air tank, valves, and pressure sending units are all mounted in the trunk. Wheels/tires: Wheels are chrome OEM type with WWW radial tires. Tires have approximately 5k miles on them. Body: Floor and trunk floor are solid. Exterior is showing rust in a few spots. I had fixed some rust spots eight years ago and they are showing again. The repairs never got sealed up on the backside, so moisture has crept through and the spots need repaired again. None of it is major, but worth mentioning -- See Photos. Primer/sealer is a PPG custom mix, applied eight years ago. Roof candy/flake/clear was done about seven years ago. Bumpers were rechromed about six years and are in very good condition. The rest of the chrome/trim on the car is in good driver condition. Interior/Glass: Mostly original. The carpet is the only thing that has been replaced - done about eight years ago. Front seat could be recovered and have some of the foam replaced. I consider the rest of the interior to be in good driver-quality condition. Windshield and seal were replaced about seven years ago. Windshield has a small crack in it - not bad, not in driver's sight-line. Passenger door glass has slight cloudiness, the rest of the glass is in good condition. CD stereo in glovebox with remote and four speakers. I have explained everything to the best of my knowledge and the car is sold as-is. I love driving this car and would love to keep it, but I can't. It's time for someone else to enjoy it. |

Ford F-150 King Ranch celebrates 'history and authenticity' for 2015 [w/video]

We honestly have no idea, having never lived on such a ranch, but we imagine it requires lots of hard work, grit and determination to keep all 825,000 acres - that's larger than the state of Rhode Island - of the King Ranch in Texas under control. Indeed, a total of 350 vehicles, all of which come from Ford, we're told, are currently in use by the ranch. No wonder, then, that the collaboration between Ford and King Ranch has lasted for 15 successful years.
For 2015, in celebration of that 15th anniversary, Ford is debuting three new King Ranch models today at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The most significant is the 2015 F-150 King Ranch, which, naturally, will add unique interior and exterior bits and pieces to the new aluminum-intensive F-Series pickup. Color choices will consist of Caribou, Bronze Fire, Guard and Ruby Red Metallic Clearcoat, with a range of two-tones to go along with a monochromatic scheme in Caribou. Inside, a bespoke King Ranch interior will be swathed in Premium Mesa Brown leather.
Joining the F-150 King Ranch on dealership floors later this year will be 2015 King Ranch editions of the Super Duty pickup and Expedition fullsize SUV, all of which will offer similar levels of content. Radical RXC is a Mustang-hearted racecar for the road
Fri, May 30 2014Radical has been building fantastic open-cockpit racers and roadcars for years, for the track day enthusiast who wants a vehicle that looks like it could show up for a start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The company's latest creation is the RXC, and while this coupe looks like a prototype racer, it's road legal in the UK and in some parts of the US. When testing a car this, um, radical, the first thought is likely to get it to the track for some big slides and wide open acceleration, but XCar Films takes the opposite approach in its latest video to learn how this racer fares on public roads. The version tested here is the standard RXC with the 3.7-liter V6 out of the Ford Mustang tuned to 350 horsepower with a seven-speed sequential gearbox; but Radical also offers the same engine with 380-hp, a 454-hp Ford EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, or even a 500-hp V8. Even in the most basic guise, it's a handful to control in the wet, if this video is any indication. The cliche of a road-legal racecar is bandied around a lot in the motoring world, but it truly applies to the RXC. The only problem with seeing the RXC exclusively on the road is that it can never really open up and show its full potential. This racer is indeed chomping at the bit to rocket off into the horizon, but all those pesky road safety laws hold it back. Ford Mustang returning to Australia in 2016
Mon, 15 Jul 2013Australia's Herald Sun newspaper has reported that the next-generation Ford Mustang is heading Down Under in 2016, just as Ford is hanging the "Closed for Good" sign on its Australian manufacturing operations and sending the Falcon to its grave. Ford hasn't offered any official word on the matter, but the paper says that Ford's global VP of sales and marketing, Jim Farley, is flying to Australia to make the announcement himself.
While Ford converted Mustangs in the early 2000s from left-hand to right-hand drive for the Australian market and then sold them at high prices, it's been almost five decades since Ford imported a dedicated right-hand-drive Mustang to Oz. The arrival of the global model specifically made for places like Australia and the UK means Ford will also be able to offer them at better prices than the converted models; the Herald Sun says the price is expected to be "close to $50,000."
And that's for one of the "V8 performance models," which are the only ones Australia will get; Ford apparently won't send the turbocharged four cylinder or the V6. The Aussies could find out in a month from now whether this rumor is true. We will all find out what this Mustang fuss is about when the car debuts at next year's New York Auto Show.
