Great running rare 1962 Galaxie 500. lots of upgraded parts. I've owned this car since 2001, I'm the fourth owner. This beautiful car was my daily driver for years, now because of a work transfer i need to sell it. she has just under 76000 miles on it, the engine and transmission were rebuilt at about 38000 miles. this is a California car, she still has the original black and yellow plate and her registration just expired in October. the dash board is nearly perfect, only the clock doesn't work, they never do. the headliner is nearly flawless. the rest of the interior is rougher, the front seat is well worn, the carpet is shot, the back seat looks great, but a few seams have begun to split. the exterior is mostly straight with some small dents, one larger dent in the drivers side rear panel, behind the tire on the bottom. all trim is intact, however its 51 years old and unrestored. the paint has worn away in places on the hood, down to bare metal causing light surface rust, but no cancer or pitting. she was at one point sponsored by decalkits.com which is why it has black vinyl flames everywhere. I recently had it appraised by a member of the Sacramento Galaxie club, he felt the in the Sacramento market it would easily be worth $7500.

Ford EcoBoost V6 hits the dyno before hitting the track
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Ford Racing just unveiled the Riley Daytona Prototype that will make its racing in the United SportsCar Racing Championship Rolex 24 at Daytona in January, and now it has released a video showing development of twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that powers the car. Using the same block and heads that can be found on a production Ford Taurus SHO, this new racecar benefits from the collaboration between Ford Racing and Ford powertrain engineers.
While we still don't know what kind of power this engine is putting out, it has definitely gotten a workout at Ford's 17G dyno. This area deep within Ford allows the automaker's racing program to work hand-in-hand with production engine programs, which can be a benefit to racing operations and production cars alike. Scroll down to hear a few people from Ford talk about the crosspollination between its racing and engine teams and watch the EcoBoost get red hot on the dyno.

Ford looks to space robots to improve car-to-car communications [w/video]
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Ford has partnered with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for three years to research various kinds of connected vehicle communications. The university tie-up is part of its study of space robots, NASA systems created to enable space-to-Earth communication, and the university's own development of systems that enable communication between the International Space State and Earth.
The objective is for Ford to engineer layers of robust networks and redundancy systems that will allow your car to speak to other cars, to emergency vehicles, to infrastructure like traffic lights and buildings, and to the cloud. Benefits would come in just about every area of transit, from avoiding accidents, to getting medical workers to an accident more quickly, to improving the flow of traffic during rush hour.
Check out the press release below for details on what Ford wants to learn from the JUSTIN Humanoid and NASA Robonaut R2, and a video of technical leader Oleg Gusikhin discussing his interest in the project.
