1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner Solid Survivor One Repaint X Code Car on 2040-cars

Year:1961 Mileage:62000 Color: Body over all is a very straight car
Location:

Advertising:

Exterior:
Body over all is a very straight car. Has some rust bubbles over rear wheel wells. Floor pans look good except for a small 6" X 6" spot in trunk. All trim is in excellent straight usable condition with the exception of one piece on driver side somebody ran a screw through, useable and straight but needs to be repaired. If you know anything about these cars they have miles of trim. I could probably sell the trim for a much as I want out of the whole car. Has a dent in passenger rocker panel but no rot, just surface rust. Somebody at one time installed a spotlight on drivers door and an antenna on drivers rear quarter, I think that hole is where the water that caused the hole in trunk floor came from.

Interior:
Everything is there, seats have been recovered once but original cloth is there under and door panels are original and complete, has under dash AC unit. Not sure if aftermarket or factory.

Drivetrain:
Originally a 300 HP 390 with C6 Automatic. Engine is missing but rest remains intact.
I have a used original 1961 3 Deuce intake complete from manifold to carburetors if interested for an additional 1200$. I was gathering parts to make a 401 Horse Z code clone, but recently found a nice Z code car so I am switching gears. I will help with shipping but funds need to clear bank prior to pick up. Anyone is welcome to come look at it it, it's a nice car to start with and in my opinion nice enough at this point to just go through mechanicals and make a nice rat/cruiser out of it. You could get this thing on the road pretty quickly and cheaply that way and improve anything else you wanted as you go. I have had it for about 5 years but have too many projects. My sons all three want to make a rough cruiser out of it but I think it has to go.

I apologize for the bad pictures but it was snowing out and I didn't really want to deal with pushing the coupe under it into the snow to get better pictures, if there is something else you would like to see just ask and i would be more than happy to send additional pictures. I am motivated to sell but not desperate. If you know Starliners, cars like this in this condition are hard to come by. This car is for sale locally and on other Galaxie forums so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Call me with questions. Greg 402 578 1888

2015 Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition says 'happy birthday' in New York

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

Fifty years ago this week, Ford debuted the first-ever Mustang at the New York World's Fair. And to celebrate, the Blue Oval is offering up this special, 50th Anniversary Edition 2015 Mustang, which makes its debut at the New York Auto Show. It'll be a seriously limited affair, with only 1,964 examples of the special edition Mustang slated to be produced (the number chosen to coincide with the 'Stang's first year in production). But for those who raise their hands for the 50th Anniversary package, there's a pretty sweet package in store.
The 50th Anniversary Edition is based on the 2015 Mustang GT with the Performance Pack, and is only available in two colors: Kona Blue, or Wimbledon White (pictured). The car also comes fully loaded - the only option for buyers to choose is the transmission. Should you opt for the six-speed automatic, you'll get a limited-slip rear differential with a 3.55:1 final-drive ratio (the 50th Anniversary car is also the only way to get a slushbox-equipped 'Stang with the Performance Pack). Selecting the six-speed manual 'box will net you a Torsen differential with a 3.73:1 ratio. All 50th Anniversary cars will be powered by Ford's 5.0-liter, naturally aspirated V8, estimated to produce more than 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque in the 2015 Mustang.
Inside, there's a cashmere-stitched, leather-wrapped steering wheel, with a similar detail found on the instrument panel, shift boot, door inserts, seats, and center armrest. Two-tone leather/black upholstery is also part of the 50th Anniversary package, and of course, there's a special logo on the seats.

Ford pulling out of V8 Supercars after 2015

Tue, Dec 2 2014

Australian racing fans are staring down the end of an era as news breaks that Ford will no longer participate in the V8 Supercars series. Although the official announcement has yet to be made, the decision – as reported widely in the automotive press Down Under and in global motorsport publications – indicates that the Blue Oval automaker has already confirmed its intentions to its shareholders early on Monday to shut down its factory effort in the popular tin-top series at the end of next season. The move will mark the end of an era for what has become the International V8 Supercars Championship. Alongside GM's Holden division, Ford was one of only two manufacturers competing in the series from its inception in the late 1990s through last year when a change in regulations opened the door for entries from Nissan, Volvo and Mercedes. Further rule changes are expected to attract even more manufacturers to the series, with Lexus said to be first among them. Over the past eighteen seasons, the V8 Supercars Championship has been won in a Holden Commodore fourteen times, leaving Ford to win the title only four times with successive versions of the Falcon. Eleven of the cars on the grid this season were Commodores, compared to only seven Ford Falcons between two teams that will need to switch to another manufacturer for the season after next – although some could opt to stick with their Fords for one more season, even without factory support, until the open 2016 regulations take effect. The decision follows Ford's announcement last year that it will cease manufacturing in Australia by 2016, ending a 90-year presence Down Under that stretches back to 1925. Blue Oval models like the Falcon, previously unique to the Aussie market, are being replaced by imported models like the Mondeo and Mustang.

Ford wants to double hybrid offerings by 2020

Wed, Jan 15 2014

The Blue Oval is looking for folks on the other side of this Big Old Sphere to get on board with its hybrid offerings. Ford executive Raj Nair, speaking at the Detroit Auto Show this week, said the US automaker wants to double the number of hybrids models it offers by the end of the decade, Reuters reports. Details of what that actually means is anyone's guess, as it was unclear how many of those models would be in the US and how many would be overseas. That said, Nair did say that prospective customers in regions such as China and Europe would drive the expansion of offerings. Ford got off to a great start in the US last year on its hybrid sales, but then tailed off towards the end of 2013. Ford more than doubled its green-car sales in 2013 to almost 88,000 units. In that number were more than 37,000 Fusion Hybrids and more than 28,000 C-Max Hybrids sold domestically. The company also sold almost 7,500 Lincoln MKZ Hybrids. Ford's green-car totals for 2013 were up fivefold at the mid-year point, hinting that Ford's hybrid sales plateaued, at least temporarily, in recent months.
