2008 Bi-fuel Cng Ford Focus Ses Coupe 2-door 2.0l (no Reserve) on 2040-cars
Austin, Texas, United States
Rare, One of a kind Natural Gas Vehicle - Sporty, Reliable and Very Economical - NO RESERVE
Equipped with EPA Certified Altech-Eco Bi-fuel CNG Conversion. The Focus operates on either gasoline or CNG (compressed natural gas) with the simple push of a button. With the lower cost of CNG at the pump and 32-35 mpg on the highway, this little beauty has an incredibly low operating cost. The EPA Certified natural gas conversion system from Altech-Eco was installed by CleanFuel Conversions at the end of 2008. We originally paid about $23,000 for the car, but the current Blue Book value on the Focus without the CNG conversion is around $6,000. The Altech-Eco conversion was a another $10,000. CleanFuel Conversions has been performing CNG conversions in Austin, Texas for over 6 years. We have delivered almost 400 conversions. This Focus was one of our company vehicles. We used it primarily as a demo vehicle and, because it is just so cheap to drive, to travel to trade shows or customer locations around the country. The system from Altech-Eco really is a clever design utilizing a machined adapter plate between the head and intake manifold instead of the drilling/taping and rubber fuel hoses found on most bi-fuel conversions. The fuel pressure regulator is mounted in the rear and only a low pressure fuel line runs past the passenger compartment to the engine. The regulator is an ITT Conoflow, one of the most reliable fuel pressure regulators on the market. The fuel injectors are Bosch. Overall, the installation is very professional and includes a 18" x 36" 8.1 GGE Lincoln Type 4 lightweight composite fuel cylinder mounted in the truck that will get over 200 miles on CNG before having to switch back to gasoline. The carbon fiber tank was new when installed and is good for another 15 years. Sure the tank takes up some trunk space, but there is still a lot of room left behind the tank. With both fuels, the car has a range of almost 600 miles. The car runs great on either fuel. Loaded With All The Extras Fun To Drive Eligible for Financial Incentives Excellent Well-Maintained Condition Warranty And best of all, CHEAP GAS Feel free to call 512-289-9799 with questions or to arrange to see or test drive the vehicle. The vehicle is currently in Austin, Texas. |

Swedish car mag says Ford Mondeo is dangerously, illegally overweight [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Sweden's Teknikens Varld has a reputation for being very persnickety when it comes to auto safety testing, and its latest catch is the Mondeo Titanium Estate 2.0 TDCi 150 bhp S6 MPS (basically a station wagon variant of the Fusion). In addition to the model's mile-long name, it has another problem according to the Swedes, because its weight on the scales does not equal the official numbers for the vehicle. Teknikens Varld claims the wagon is dangerously overweight because it weighs in 4,145 pounds, while Ford officially lists its weight at 3,530 pounds. That 615-pound disparity means that if a family loads it to what they think is the model's gross vehicle weight, it will actually be too heavy, and therefore illegal to drive in Sweden. According to the magazine, when it tried doing this, the rear wheels scraped against the wells, and the estate failed the mag's legendary moose test. However, at 220 pounds over the limit, it passed the test. When reached for comment by Autoblog, Jay Ward, Senior Manager at Ford of Europe Product Communications, explained the reason for the deviation between the official numbers and the magazine's test: "We are aware of this, but this is not an issue that relates specifically to the safety of the Mondeo, but is in fact related to the way in which the cars are tested by the authorities. We provided an Ambiente model for the testing but the car that featured in the magazine test was a Titanium model which has a different weight. We are in discussion with the Swedish Transport Agency to change the framework so the real weight of the Titanium model is reported instead of the Ambiente model which will resolve the issue." Teknikens Varld is well-known for calling out automakers for perceived transgressions. Most recently it leveled criticisms against the all-wheel drive system in the Honda CR-V, and both the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Porsche Macan failed its moose test. Scroll down for the magazine's video of weighing the Mondeo Estate and the model's test results. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The new Ford Mondeo is dangerously overweight The new Ford Mondeo is a great car, which Teknikens Varld's test shows, but there is one problem – the weight. Mondeo weighs 279 kg more than Ford claims. With big load (ie family plus luggage) the car therefore becomes illegal to drive.
FL man fatally shot after urging driver not to do donuts in a Mustang
Tue, 18 Nov 2014Bradley Holt (pictured), the older half-brother of University of South Florida freshman quarterback Quinton Flowers, was killed in a random act of violence last week.
The 24-year-old Holt was throwing a football around with local kids in Allapattah, a neighborhood in Miami, when a yellow Mustang showed up and started doing donuts in the street. Holt, worried about kids playing in front his apartment complex, walked over to the driver and asked him why he was "driving so crazy with so many kids out here?"
The driver left. Holt's sister said the driver came back "about 15 to 20 minutes later" and fired two shots at Holt. One of them hit Holt in the back of the head, killing him.
Shelby Mustang stars with Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez in Getaway movie
Thu, 06 Jun 2013Car movies. We keep watching them, they keep making them. Despite Fast & Furious 6 still blowing up the box office (No. 1 in theaters for the second straight week) and production on Transformers 4 being well underway (check out the Bugatti Veyron and Corvette Stingray as new cast members), there's still room on the marquee for more car movies. Next one up is an Ethan Hawke joint called Getaway, which prominently co-stars a Ford Shelby GT500. The first trailer for Getaway, which opens in theaters on August 30, was released yesterday and can be watched below.
The movie's plot centers around Hawke's character, former race car driver Brent Magna, who must somehow use this car, what appears to be a generation-old Shelby GT500 Super Snake he "commandeered," to save his wife. The movie's third co-star is Selena Gomez, whose character we're told is the owner of said Shelby. A 20-year-old having a car like this seems a bit far-fetched - especially in Europe - and on paper, this plot looks like it cribs liberally from Charlie Sheen's 1994 The Chase. But all we've got to go on is a brief plot description and the trailer below, so we'll withhold judgment until the studio firmly has our ticket money in its grasp.
The Shelby GT500 is, of course, no stranger to acting. Before this jump to celluloid, the most fearsome of all Mustang models starred in the return of Knight Rider to television on NBC back in 2008. That gig didn't pan out for the car, the show lasting only one season and 17 episodes. In fact, with its casting in Getaway, the Shelby GT500 is one of the few actors who escaped that debacle with a future in show biz.
