I am selling my 2005 Ford Focus ZX3 SES hatchback. I have owned this car for the last 6 years and it has been a daily driver for me. When I got the car, it had 54,000 miles on it. I have never had any issues with this car, I have only had to do normal stuff i.e. tires, battery etc. I would not hesitate driving this car anywhere in the country. I have been using it to make my daily 85 mile round trip commute. I decided I needed four wheel drive because of all of the drifting I deal with on country roads, so it's time to sell the Focus...

The Good
Mechanically excellent condition, never had an issue with anything
Brand new battery in September 2013
Upgraded Kenwood stereo with USB input and iPod connectivity and control
Upgraded speakers
30+ miles per gallon on the highway
Manual transmission shifts as smoothly as the day I bought it
Starts right up every time
Power Mirrors
Power Door Locks
Remote keyless entry
Regular oil changes every 5,000 miles(I have been running synthetic since I bought it)
I have 3 keys and 2 remotes(only one has ever been used by me)
Sunroof operates just as it should

The Not-So-Good
There is a dent in the rear passenger side quarter panel about the size of a soft ball, right on the corner
The front tires only have about 30% left, rear tires are better
There is a small 1/4" size hole in the back seat
During the recent cold snap I accidentally broke off the antenna. Not hard to replace.
Brakes were replaced at 80,000 miles so they will probably be due soon
Very minor rust under the wheel wells, not visible

That's about all I can think of. If you have any questions or would like to take a test drive, send me a message and I will accommodate. I have the car listed under KBB value. This car will be a great vehicle for someone looking for a very fuel efficient, fun to drive, good sounding car. I have enjoyed it over the last 6 years and hopefully someone else can enjoy it for at least 6 more. Thanks for looking.

William Clay Ford Sr. dead at 88

Sun, 09 Mar 2014

William Clay Ford, retired vice chairman of Ford Motor Company and the last surviving grandchild of company founder Henry Ford, died this morning after a bout with pneumonia. He was 88.
Ford spent 57 years with his grandfather's company, joining the board of directors in 1948 before graduating from college. Ford also held a position as chairman of the design committee, as well as the chairman of the executive committee and vice chairman of the Board of Directors during his tenure with the company. In a 2013 Detroit Free Press story, retired CFO Allan Gilmour said Ford had an eye for design, and was once able to pick out when a fiberglass model of a Ford Contour was asymmetrical, off by an inch on one side. He retired and assumed the position of director emeritus in 2005.
"My father was a great business leader and humanitarian who dedicated his life to the company and the community," said Bill Ford, Jr., Ford's current executive chairman. "He also was a wonderful family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, yet he will continue to inspire us all."

Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial

Wed, 28 May 2014

How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.

Lincoln Aviator could make a comeback

Tue, Jun 9 2015

The idea of Lincoln dropping its alphanumeric scheme in favor of real names was welcomed by fans of the marque and even appeared possible after the rousing reception to the Continental concept. Now, rumors suggest that the next of the luxury brand's nameplates to see a possible revival just might be the Aviator. Don't get your hopes up quite yet, though. The Truth About Cars admits that this tip comes from a second-hand source, but the person reports that Lincoln has a project codenamed Aviator as a model based on the Explorer. There's evidence to give the rumor some shaky support, though. Ford already has the trademarks for the name and AV8R. Also, an Explorer-based vehicle in 2019 is included for the brand's predictions in the recent Car Wars forecast. Autoblog reached out to company spokesperson Sam Locricchio, but he would not speculate about future products. The same source claims to The Truth About Cars that the Blue Oval might not replace the Ford Flex or Lincoln MKT when the current generations come to an end. Also, the next-gen Expedition and Navigator could use 10-speed automatics and follow the F-150 to get aluminum bodies, which is also already rumored. Although, all of this should be taken with a big grain of salt until anything more official has arrived. Lincoln spokesperson Stephane Cesareo gave The Truth About Cars no comment on the rumor, but said, "By 2020, we expect to expand the segments that we participate in by adding two new nameplates to the Lincoln brand. We have not provided any indications about the products or their names." Related Video:
