This Festiva is being sold for PARTING OUT because of rust issues.

The Festiva engine is a Mazda B series noninterference engine, (if the timing belt breaks, no harm is done to the engine).

It has 145,686 miles.

Has an automatic transmission which we never had issues with.  Since we owned it, we did have the fluid and filter changed in it.

We kept the oil changed every 3,000 miles

Gets approximately 35 miles per gallon.

Has A/C but we never got around to fixing it.

It has the original back compartment cover.

The tires are all good and still inflated, not flat.

All the locks work.

No cracks in windows.

We changed the calipers and rotors, but it has been sitting for 3 years.

The engine needs valve cover gaskets, they are oily.

The struts and springs on front are bad, axles possibly are bad also.

There is rust issues and mold on the inside.

Why we are selling it......

We had  this Festiva on the road for 6 years, with no mechanical issues.   But, something
developed possibly, electrical we couldn't seem to run out and find.  It got so that it would start and run fine, and then quit and would not start back up.  Our garage mechanics could not fine the issue.

We changed the air filter, pcv valve, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, fuel pump, but the problem still persisted.  We now suspect that possibly the issue might be in the ignition control module in the distributor.

After towing it to several mechanics, we just gave up and sadly one of the windows got left open without us knowing it and it got wet inside and got moldy.  We open the hatch to let it air out as much as possible and it seems to smell a bit better.

It does have a new battery but it needs a slow trickle charger to bring it back up.

We kept the car until now to take parts of it to keep our aspire on the road, but now we found another aspire to drive and will use the old aspire now for parts if we have to, so this needs to go and we also had to buy another car to which we are making payments on to basically replace this car.

This car is very rusty, especially underneath, but the engine, transmission etc are all good.

It isn't roadworthy, so you will have to bring a hauler to haul it off, even if it was up and running, it's too rusty underneath to trust out driving now.

Will load up more photos of under the hood later when I get the chance to take them.

Detroit Three autoworkers could get huge bonuses

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

For a long time, being a line worker for one of the Detroit Three has meant living with an uncertain future. With the health of American automakers on the rise, though, things are also starting to look up for the men and women building the cars. The latest sign that things aren't bad? Big profit-sharing checks.
According to The Detroit News, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler could end up paying over $800 million to 130,000 workers as part of a profit-sharing plan. According to The News, the economic impact of these profits in Michigan alone could exceed $400 million, besting the NFL's Super Bowl, MLB's All-Star Game and the NHL's Winter Classic for their economic impact.
This is the third straight year the Detroit Three have issued profit-sharing checks to UAW employees, and for many workers, the checks are as close as they'll get to a raise, due to the most recent contract between the union and the manufacturers. On average, employees at GM and Ford receive $1 for every $1 million in North American (not just the US) pre-tax profits. Chrysler, meanwhile, gets a similar deal, although the Auburn Hills-based company calculates profit sharing using 85 percent of the brand's global profits.

Enterprise working with renter's insurance to cover $47k Mustang stolen from its lot

Sat, 11 Jan 2014

There was more than a bit of public indigence following the recent story of Enterprise Rent-A-Car billing a customer $47,000 to replace a Ford Mustang GT Convertible stolen from a Nova Scotia lot. To recap: Kristen Cockerill rented the Mustang for two days, returned it to the lot on a Sunday and left the keys in a secure dropbox only for Enterprise employees to find the car gone the next day.
Despite Enterprise policies stating that customers are responsible for vehicles dropped on off-days, the company has admitted that the situation could've been handled a bit better.
In a recent statement, Enterprise has backed off the big-bill story, and claims to be working with Cockerill and her insurance company to resolve the issue. Further, the Enterprise general manager overseeing Nova Scotia has spoken with the harried renter, and apologized "for the way this claim was handled during the last few months."

Hot-selling Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator get production boost

Mon, Feb 12 2018

Ford is investing an additional $25 million in its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville to increase by 25 percent production of the hot-selling and all-new Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition SUVs. The investment adds to $900 million in previously announced spending at the plant, which also builds F-Series Super-Duty pickups and employs 8,400 workers. Assembly-line workers are putting in overtime and working voluntary weekend shifts to keep up with demand. The new investment will cover upgrades to the assembly line but does not involve further hiring, Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker says. The popularity of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator is a bright spot as Ford stock has been battered by Wall Street amid concerns concerns about the automaker's future vision and slowness to detect trends. Ford says the investment is an example of its bid to improve "operational fitness," one of CEO Jim Hackett's common refrains. Ford says Navigator retail sales more than doubled in January, and Navigators are spending an average of just seven days on Lincoln dealership lots as customers trade in vehicles including Land Rovers and Mercedes-Benz. Nearly 85 percent of buyers are opting for high-end Black Label and Reserve trim packages, contributing to an average transaction price increase of more than $21,000 in January compared to a year ago. The 2018 Navigator won the North American Truck of the Year award and also topped a Detroit News poll of public favorites at last month's Detroit Auto Show. Sales of the Expedition, meanwhile, were up almost 57 percent last month as the full-size SUVs also spent an average of just a week on dealer lots. Platinum trim models represented 29 percent of sales, pushing transaction price increases up $7,800. Ford gave the 2018 Expedition an all-aluminum body to save mass in its first significant redesign since 2007. The plant last year got nearly 400 new robots, mainly in the body shop, to help increase line speed, and Ford added a robot lab where employees can test software tweaks or troubleshoot issues away from the factory floor. The Louisville plant also benefits from extensive new data analytics, with seven big-screen monitors providing minute-by-minute updates showing progress against hourly targets or alerting workers to pending parts shortages. A huge spare-parts "vending machine" lets workers more quickly locate needed parts and keep inventory at necessary levels.
