Thanks for viewing my auction. You are looking at my extremely rare FORD van or Falcon. This van is in great shape for it age and is mechanically very sound. I personally have driven this van many times and recently took my kids on a trip to the bike park. It really has tons of room inside . This classic is just full of opportunity to do many things with . The under side of the van is in very good shape., Anyone that knows these vans know that they are very prone to rust and many of the vans are rotted beyond belief. This van has some rust in the rockers and mid body mount. the front right floor at your feet has a hole as well . There are various places at the rear that has rust as well. I restore vehicle and this is a vey easy vehicle to fix. The van runs and drives great . it has the 3 speed trans , 170 cid engine / Recently all the brakes have been rebuilt from front to back. The carb is brand new and the engine runs great. it does have a exhaust manifold leak. all the seats are intact and one is a folding seat . the glass is all original stamped with the ford emblem. the poop out windows work great . The windows roll up and down great as well and all the door latches and handles. the vent windows operate as well. The factory gas tank was very dirty and a fuel cell was installed. there is a small round hole in the back for gas fill inside the van. The dash is original with the working gauges and the floor heater still all there that functions. This would be a excellent candidate to restore or just do a few things to and drive as is. J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.
2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid recalled over lack of roof padding
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Ford is recalling 33,021 units of its 2013 C-Max Hybrid not equipped with optional panoramic roof panels. During testing, the model in question returned testing results for occupant head injuries that fell outside of criteria laid out in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. The issue puts occupants at greater risk of injury in the event of a crash if they are in an affected car.
The recall will begin August 19, at which time C-Max Hybrid owners can take their cars to dealers to have energy-absorbent material installed between the headliner and roof. The bulletin below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has more information.
