1992 Ford Mustang Lx Convertible Feature Car Limited Edition 5.0 Automatic Red on 2040-cars
Loganville, Georgia, United States
1992 MUSTANG LX CONVERTIBLE FEATURE CAR This car is SOLID and ALL original. Only 2100 produced and this one is a survivor! No engine modifications, body or suspension modifications. The top is new and was changed from white to black, but works fine. The exhaust sounds great. The steering is nice and tight. The 5.0 cranks right up every time. Auto tranny shifts fine. Ice cold A/C. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this car anywhere, but like I always tell people, I would rather you check it all out yourself and get it home before going anywhere. That's what I would do with any classic vehicle, just to be safe! I love this car. Still has original Ford care package (manual) from when it was purchased new. If you are looking for a father/son restoration project or a daily driver as is, then look no further. Head turning car! This one is stellar. Got a couple little things to keep you busy and your wrenches turning, but what old car doesn't! Amazing car. No reserve. Get it before it's gone! Stuff that may need attention: Power steering whines a little, but works fine. Paint is original except for the blacked out hood and is good from a distance, but has chips, is faded and wearing thin. Clear coat is peeling as was the case for a lot of these models. One small rust spot where it looks like the convertible top may have trapped water at some point. (see pics) Rest of car is SOLID. One small dent by driver door. (see pics) Interior is good, driver seat is newly recovered and rest of seats have some usual wear but are in good shape overall. The driver side rear window will need a switch. Tach sticks at 3K when idling then kicks in. This IS NOT a PERFECT car, but IT IS a great driver!!! Winning bidder to work out and cover shipping. I will help with loading up, too. Email with any questions. Car is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. Comes with title. |

Ford Mustang 50th anniversary edition brings in $170k
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Just the other day, we reported on the first Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat selling for a whopping $825,000 at auction. But impressive as that sum was, the Challenger wasn't the only sought-after modern muscle car to cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block in Las Vegas this past weekend. So did this rare Ford Mustang.
The last of 1,964 special-edition 50 Years Limited Edition pony cars sold for a princely $170,000, with proceeds benefiting the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute, a branch of the Henry Ford Health System.
The pony car in question is based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT and upgrades with a performance package and nearly every option on the book, along with a unique appearance package to set it apart in celebration of the Mustang's 50th anniversary. It's available in two exclusive shades - Wimbledon white or Kona blue - with either a manual or automatic transmission. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples were to be built, and this was the last of them.
2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Your Mileage May Vary
As difficult as it is to write this, I was actually excited about the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid. With the beautiful looks of the newest midsize fighter from Ford and a fuel economy estimate capable of shaming even the stalwart Camry Hybrid, the battery-augmented four-door seemed like a recipe for unabashed success. But appearances love nothing more than swapping our boundless enthusiasm for cold platters of disappointment. The 2013 Fusion Hybrid gets hobbled right out of the gate with a lofty price tag, and real-world driving keeps the sedan from even approaching those EPA figures.
With so many excellent midsize hybrids on the market, is there any reason to consider the newest Fusion Hybrid? Are sharp aesthetics, a well-executed interior and capable driving dynamics enough to overcome the machine's shortfalls? Not from where I'm standing.
Ford rakes in record $2.5b profit during Q1 of 2016
Thu, Apr 28 2016Fears that the auto industry is due for a downturn may be fading. Ford posted record profits in the first quarter of 2016, the company announced Thursday. Chief financial officer Bob Shanks said Ford enjoyed its best quarterly performance in history, generating operating profits of $3.8 billion and a record profit margin of 9.8 percent. Overall, the company's $2.5 billion profit in the quarter more than doubled from the 2015 quarterly results. "The first quarter was an absolutely terrific start to the year, an all-time record for the company, with very strong performance across the business," said chief executive officer Mark Fields. "We're excited about our future and confident in our ability to deliver long-term growth and profitability as we expand our business model to be both an auto and a mobility company." During the quarter, Ford announced the creation of Ford Smart Mobility, a new subsidiary that would vet future mobility projects in the realm of car-sharing, fractional ownership and autonomous deployment. The company also kicked off a billion-dollar makeover of its Dearborn, Michigan campus and headquarters. The company's after-tax earnings of $0.68 per share trumped Wall Street's expectations, and were significantly up from $0.39 per share a year ago. The results were buoyed by the company's fourth consecutive quarter of growth in Europe, which comes after a long period of stagnant sales. Ford's earnings results come amid reports that April car sales are on pace to jump 4 percent year over year, which would make it the best-selling April in history. Kelley Blue Book projects that car sales will reach 1.51 million this month, placing the industry on track for 17.5 million vehicles sold in 2016. Even as SUV and crossover sales drive the market, analysts say Nissan and Honda are positioned to benefit from renewed interest in mid-size cars. "Following a disappointing March, we expect sales to get back on track in April with SAAR in the mid-17 million range," said Tim Fleming, analyst for Kelley Blue Book. "Increased fleet sales and rising incentive spending among automakers remain the factors to watch, but the retail demand appears to be holding steady, signaling the industry's strong run isn't over quite yet."
