This is a 1962 Ford Falcon. The floor boards, quarters, doors, trunk  all show no signs of rust holes or patching. The paint is driver quality with some dings and scratches. The paint is 7 years old, it shows its age but looks good for a driver.  It is base coat clear and is very shiny. The hood, doors and trunk all line up and shut properly. The wheel well lips have been flattened to accommodate the Ford 8” rear and the wider tires but they are solid and not cut just flattened.

The frame rails have been tied together for a higher horsepower engine

The glass is tinted and all in good condition. The interior was completely redone and is in good condition. It is dark leather ostrich print with plain leather gray outer covering. The headliner and door panels all match.

Engine is a rebuilt 1971 Ford 351 Windsor bored .030 with a mild cam. Stock heads and an aluminum intake, 650 HOLLEY carb. Engine was never dinoed.  I would guess about 350 to 375 HP. This is a nice driver motor not too much power. Cam sounds great and good on gas. Car runs cool with a 1971 Mustang radiator. Motor, trans and rear do not drip oil.

Transmission is a C4 auto with a 2000 stall. HURST Quarter stick shifter. Rear end is a ford 8” traction lock with 279 gear for highway driving. We did have a 355 gear in it and it was kind of low for highway traveling.

All lights, turn signals, gas guage, window winds work. Brakes are next to new.

The following is a list of what does not work

SPEEDOMETER- No cable attached C4 & falcon don’t match up.

RADIO- This was a radio delete car. No antenna hole and radio not wired

EMERGENCY BRAKE- Cable from lever to first connection is missing. But the cable from there to the drums is there and works

HEATER- The core is missing but the blower motor works on high and low. It just need the core put in.

I tried to the best of my ability to describe this car accurately. It is a nice street rod, driver quality driver ready.

If you come to pick the car up and you feel that I misrepresented the car,  YOU DON’T HAVE TO TAKE IT!

Ken Block's 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR and CR Supercars Villain are retro done right

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Gymkhana king Ken Block has had a pretty simple car history in his trademark videos, starting out with Subaru Impreza rally cars before moving into Ford Focus racers for the past four installments. His next video, though, Gymkhana Seven, kind of goes back in time.
Rather than the cutting-edge rally racers of past videos, Block will pilot a heavily modified 1965 Ford Mustang, called the Hoonicorn. How heavily modified is it? Well, Block's Hooligan Racing Division, ASD Motorsports and Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s RTR, spent two years working on it, ditching the standard engine and rear-wheel-drive layout and replacing it with a 410-cubic-inch Roush Yates V8. Yes, that's a NASCAR engine, and it produces 845 horsepower.
A NASCAR-powered Mustang would be news in itself, but it's the other powertrain changes made by Block and Co. that really makes headlines. Power is channeled through a one-off Sadev transmission and all-wheel-drive system, meaning that Block has basically married a NASCAR stock car with a WRC racer. ASD also developed the customized suspension, tubular chassis and roll cage. The wide Mustang body is the work of RTR and Block's own Hoonigan Racing Division, while the 18-inch fifteen52 wheels are shod in Pirelli Trofeo R tires that use a specialized compound exclusive to Block.

Ford mulling EcoSport for US? [w/poll]

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

"We certainly have that ability. We're studying it very, very closely." Those are the words of Jim Farley, global head of sales, marketing, service at Ford. The investigation Farley is referring to is the possibility of selling the company's new EcoSport crossover in America.
The diminutive Fiesta-based EcoSport was developed for emerging markets like Brazil and, more recently, China, but it apparently may have a future in the States, where it would form a new entry-level rung below the Escape in Ford's already robust crossover stable. Ford has big plans for its tiny CUV - Farley tells Automotive News that the EcoSport is only available in 10 countries right now, but by 2017, its distribution will have mushroomed to 62 countries. At the time the second-generation model launched at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show as a 2013 model, Ford said the EcoSport would eventually be sold in nearly 100 markets worldwide.
The Brazilian- and Indian-assembled EcoSport is available with a variety of gasoline-powered engines, but the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder EcoBoost giving 118 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque would seem to be the powertrain of choice for America, as it was recently confirmed for the stateside 2014 Fiesta.
