1962 Falcon Street Rod, Hot Rod, Rat Rod on 2040-cars
Stoystown, Pennsylvania, United States
Engine:351 windsor
Year: 1962
Drive Type: rear
Make: Ford
Mileage: 83,000
Model: Falcon
Warranty: none
Trim: futura
This is a 1962 Ford Falcon. The floor boards, quarters,
doors, trunk all show no signs of rust
holes or patching. The paint is driver quality with some dings, blemishes and
scratches. The paint is 7 years old, it is base coat clear and is very shiny.
The hood, doors and trunk all line up and shut properly. The rear wheel well
lips have been flattened to accommodate the Ford 8” rear and the wider tires
but they are solid and not cut just flattened. The frame rails have been tied together for a higher
horsepower engine The glass is tinted and all in good condition. The interior
was completely redone and is in good condition. It is dark leather ostrich
print with plain leather gray outer covering. The headliner and door panels all
match. Engine is a rebuilt 1971 Ford 351 Windsor bored .030 with a
mild cam. Stock heads and an aluminum intake, 650 HOLLEY carb. Engine was never
dinoed. I would guess about 375 to 400
HP. This is a nice driver motor not too much power. Cam sounds great and good
on gas. Car runs cool with a 1971 Mustang radiator. Motor, trans and rear do
not drip oil. Transmission is a C4 auto with a 2000 stall. HURST Quarter
stick shifter. Rear end is a ford 8” with 279 gear for highway driving. We did
have a 355 gear in it and it was kind of low for highway traveling. All lights, turn signals, back up lights, gas guage, window winds work.
Brakes are next to new. We have just painted the wheels black and installed four new
tires, Rear -235/60/14, Front 205/70/14. We also added a ford rocker stripe and
a new set of air shocks to raise the rear 3”. That is the way the car is being
sold. In the one video from last month the car had silver wheels and sat lower so I
don’t want to confuse anyone The following is a list of what does not work SPEEDOMETER- No cable attached C4 & falcon don’t match
up. RADIO- This was a radio delete car. No antenna hole and
installed radio not wired EMERGENCY BRAKE- Cable from lever to first connection is
missing. But the cable from there to the drums is there and works HEATER- The core is missing but the blower motor works on
high and low. It just need the core put in. I tried to the best of my ability to describe this car
accurately. It is a nice street rod, driver ready. If you come to pick the car up and you feel that I misrepresented
the car, YOU DON’T HAVE TO TAKE IT! |

Ford set to target pre-school market with next F-150 variant
Tue, Jun 17 2014How do you build a strong group of loyalists from the next generation of American drivers? You start em' young. Ford has taken that lesson to heart, as we can see in the first batch of images of the company's new entry to the pre-school market, the Power Wheels F-150. This particular example was caught returning from testing around Ford's base of operations in Dearborn, MI – covered in tiny little bits of camouflage, too. Now, this could very well end up being a collaboration between Power Wheels and Ford. Then again, it could just be some bored engineers that decided to troll the local congregation of spy photographers, who earlier today captured images of the next Focus RS and SVT Mustang. Whatever it is, it's pretty darn cool. Take a look up top for images of the new Power Wheels F-150.
2016 Ford Focus RS may yet be AWD, US sales likely
Fri, 29 Aug 2014When it comes to forbidden fruit, few vehicles are spoken of in as hushed a tone as the Ford Focus RS. The turbocharged, five-cylinder hot hatch could only be seen from afar by American customers as it tore up the roads of Europe. And while it's safe to say that Ford's Yankee fans are quite happy to now be on equal footing with drivers in the old country thanks to the Focus ST, we doubt there'd be much protestation over a successor to the RS arriving stateside.
Of course, we've seen images of the new RS undergoing testing, but a new story by Road and Track aims to fill in some very large blanks in our knowledge of that car, thanks to a pair of mysterious insiders at the Ford. Chief among those is this - the RS will almost certainly make its way to the US, albeit in limited quantities. It gets better, though.
Under hood, the new RS is unsurprisingly expected to borrow the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Ford Mustang and 2015 Lincoln MKC. While that twin-scroll turbo produces 310 horsepower in the Mustang and 285 ponies in the MKC, R&T expects the RS to deliver quite a bit more firepower - 325 to 350 hp, with preference going to the higher output due to the limited-edition nature of the RS. This roughly fits with previous reports.
Ford recalls 382k vehicles across six campaigns
Wed, Sep 30 2015Ford needs to repair a total of 381,633 vehicles in North America across six newly announced campaigns, including five safety recalls and one compliance recall. By far the largest of these campaigns covers the 342,271 examples of the 1998-2003 Windstar to double check an earlier recall repair. Among these, 283,413 are in the US and 58,858 are in Canada. The combination of corrosion and stress can cause cracks in the rear axle and eventually lead to the part to snap completely. The company reports a small number of accidents might be connected to this, but there are no injuries. The minivans were recalled for this issue back in 2010, and it was investigated by NHTSA. According to Ford's latest announcement, the reinforcement brackets on some of these models might not have been installed correctly. This time, dealers will perform an inspection. Minivans with incorrectly installed brackets will get a new rear axle. The rest of the owners will be offered a deal to replace the part at a reduced cost. The next largest campaign covers 36,857 examples of the 2015 F-150 to fix a problem with the adaptive cruise control. Specifically, there are 33,481 affected trucks in the US, and 3,376 in Canada. According to Ford, "when passing a large, highly reflective truck" the radar in the system can misidentify a semi as being in the same lane as the pickup. The collision warning system would then activate, slowing the F-150. There's one report of an accident with this happening but no injuries. The fix is simply an update to the adaptive cruise control module software. Ford also has a recall for 1,477 examples of its 2016 F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis models, and they're all located in the US. A manufacturing issue might allow the trucks to shift into reverse without the driver first applying the brakes. There are no reports of any accidents from this, though. To repair the problem, the models get a new transmission shift control bracket and an adjustment to the shift cable. The Blue Oval's safety compliance recall covers 708 examples of the 2016 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, including 658 of them in the US, 28 in Canada, and 22 in Mexico. On these models, a manufacturing problem with the fuel tank could allow it to crack in a crash, which isn't allowed under federal rules. There are no reports of accidents, injuries or fires. The fix will be a new fuel tank for all of them. The company is also repairing 251 units of the 2015 Taurus and Lincoln MKS, plus the 2016 Explorer.
