This is a very nice survivor 1979 Ford Fairmont Futura coupe with the 2.3 liter OHC 4 cylinder engine. It runs great, shifts smooth and does not leak any fluids. The interior is perfect with the exception of the headliner starting to sag in the back. On the exterior there is zero rust. I have gone through the entire undercarriage and there is zero rust there as well. There is not any bondo anywhere on the car. The paint is good with the exception of a couple of spots where it wore thin from being under a cover. The car was bought new at Russ Dean Ford in Pasco, WA and has spent its entire life between SE Washington and the Boise, ID area. Southeastern, WA and Boise are both dry, arid climates hence no rust on the car. The car has older tires but they have good tread on them--that would be my lone reservation about driving it across the country. Otherwise, it is reliable and I trust it completely.

Ford 3D-printing Mustang out of chocolate and candy for Valentine's Day
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Is your beloved in love with the new 2015 Ford Mustang? Do they like chocolate (that's a trick question - everyone likes chocolate)? Are they a bit of a futurist? Then this Hallmark holiday, you need to get them this Ford Mustang, 3D-printed in sweet, delicious chocolate.
Ford is teaming with 3D Systems' Sugar Lab in LA to produce the super-accurate pony car confections in both chocolate and sugar candy varieties. The process kicked off with a CAD rendering of the 2015 Mustang, which was then programmed into the 3D printer. After a bit of work from the machine, a four-inch long, two-inch tall Mustang was the result. Why the tieup with 3D Systems, though?
"We wanted to create something fun to show that while 3D printing made these edible Mustangs, manufacturing-level 3D printing was used in the development of Ford's all-new sports car," said Paul Susalla, Ford's supervisor of 3D printing.
Ken Block hoons his Ford F-150 RaptorTrax on the slopes
Wed, 08 Oct 2014Ken Block drives Fords. Hoons the heck out of 'em, actually. Mostly Fiestas, but also the occasional Focus or Mustang. But earlier this year, the Gymkhana guru revealed his baddest Ford yet: an F-150 SVT Raptor on tracks. And true to form, here he is putting it to the test in the latest video from Monster Energy and Hoonigan Racing.
Filmed at Baldface Lodge in Nelson, BC, the video pairs Block up with snowboarders Zak Hale and Ethan Deiss for some deep-powder action. You'll want to watch the video for yourself, but the bottom line is that the RaptorTrax beats the heck out of waiting on line for the ski lift. It's enough to make us start to look forward to winter... almost.
Ford going bonkers at SEMA with 57 showcars
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Ford always shows up in force at the SEMA Show, but this year's tally of 57 custom-tuned cars, trucks and vans is more than we can ever recall the Blue Oval bringing. Ford will introduce 28 of its project vehicles in its "Dreamcase" ahead of next month's show. The first batch of eight you'll find here with the remaining vehicles trickling into public view over the next couple of weeks.
This first group of cars includes a Fiesta, four Fiesta ST hatchbacks and a trio of Mustang show cars styled and tuned to varying degrees all by different aftermarket companies. Tanner Foust, Nitto Tire, 3dCarbon and Ice Nine Group are some of the more familiar names affixed to these cars. Our favorite so far is the Hollywood Hot Rods Mustang convertible (shown above) with its removable aluminum top and methanol-injected, 750-horsepower 5.0-liter V8.
