Ford Australia goes miniature with Beachkhana 1.0 video

Ken Block's Gymkhana franchise may have started with Subaru, but it's most closely associated with Ford, which the rally star joined way back in 2010. That fruitful partnership has spawned a number of Gymkhanas, and Block even showed up to help introduce the new Focus RS. To honor this, Ford Australia has come up with an adorable parody (for lack of a better word), starring the hero Sun Block. Rather than a full-scale rally Fiesta piloted by a Vegemite-munching Aussie, though, Ford of Oz has gone tiny for its tribute. Really tiny. The product is Beachkhana 1.0 – Wild on the Beaches of Australia, is a funky little stop-motion feature using tiny, 1:43-scale cars in much the same manner as Mr. Block drives his Fiesta rally car. It even pokes some fun at Mercedes-Benz's hilarious Magic Body Control ad. Check it out. The 2015 Ford Mustang is not so mellow in yellow

When we first saw the 2015 Ford Mustang, much was made of its new, more expressive color palette, which includes the return of both yellow and orange in addition to a new grayish shade, Guard. At that time, we didn't have anything to look at but a few small scale models painted in the new colors - the only Mustangs on display were in Race Red.
For its auto show debut here at in the Motor City, Ford has trotted out a couple of as-yet-unseen shades, including the striking Triple Yellow shown above. The new shade marks a return to a paint color that enthusiasts have been clamoring for, and we must say, it looks excellent under the lights of Cobo Hall.
Stat wise, there are still a number of questions we have about the redesigned Mustang. None of the three engines have had official power figures published. The same goes for pricing information, although if any loose-lipped execs let something slip in Detroit, we'll be sure to let you know. Until then, have a look at the new Triple Yellow Mustang on display at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

Ford confirms Everest SUV production for China

According to Ford, the Chinese SUV segment grew by 49 percent in 2013, and the Blue Oval held a 4.5 percent market share. At the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Ford is showing the Everest SUV that, while just a concept for now, will go into production in the near future.
The Everest is a big, brawny seven-seat SUV that mixes solid, chiseled styling and contemporary Ford design cues. Up front there is an angular version of the trapezoidal grille and sharp, wraparound headlights. The beltline rises in the rear to make the back appear higher than the front. The rear seems just as chiseled, with the taillights resting in jagged scallops. There is no doubt that this concept means to look rugged, and ready for rough roads - the whole thing looks pretty great.
The truck was penned by Ford's Asia Pacific design and engineering team in Australia, and it was first shown in Sydney last year. Ford's JMC joint venture will build the truck for the Chinese market, and it will be sold at Ford dealers there. The Blue Oval isn't hinting at what powers the production version yet, but it reportedly shares some components with the foreign-market Ranger.
