1969 Ford Fairlane Fastback, V-8, Automatic, Solid Barn Find! on 2040-cars
Troutman, North Carolina, United States
1969 Ford Fairlane Fastback Solid unmolested barn find. Car is 99% all there. 289 2bbl. Automatic Car starts great...runs, moves , steers and stops. Transmission seems to go into gear firmly. Little smoke at first start up. Probably could stand tune up, fresh fuel, and oil change. interior is all there...rip in drivers bottom cushion...tear in top of rear seat...headliner seem is coming apart...kick panels are missing...carpet torn by drivers seat.... Sheet metal is very good on car as far as rust issues...needs small patch on both rear quarters behind rear tires...dings and dents here and there...biggest being in right front fender and left rear quarter...all are repairable... Bumpers are straight but are pitted. I have 5 out of the 6 body side moldings, but most of the plastic clips that hold them on are missing. All the glass looks pretty good. The tires have decent tread but, don't know how old they are...so I wouldn't drive it far..., but they hold air and will load ok on any transport. Torque Boxes and frame rails are solid...as are the inner fenders....shock towers...trunk pan...and rockers...there is a small hole in the floorpan right under drivers foot...about 2" around....rest of floor pan as solid. Had a new gas tank put in about 3 years ago according to paperwork. Had a new intermediate pipe on the exhaust installed about same time. This car needs to be restored, but is a very solid start! Have NC title in hand. NO RESERVE!!! Highest bidder wins it!...so bid to win! And PLEASE read and more importantly UNDERSTAND my payment terms!!!!! If you bid please have the funds together to pay!!!! Ask questions BEFORE you bid if you have any.

2014 Ford C-Max Energi plug-in hybrids get deep, deep discount
Thu, Feb 26 2015Math-phobes may not appreciate all the price discounts available for potential buyers of the Ford C-Max Energi Plug-in Hybrid. For everyone else, though, break out the calculators and celebrate. Because the plug-ins, or at least the 2014 model-year versions, can be had for as much as a third off. How? Start with $4,000 bonus cash from Ford (double what it used to be) and add another $1,750 in dealer discounts, according to Cars Direct. Additionally, the feds will provide a $4,000 tax incentive, while shoppers in the great state of California might get another $1,500 in clean-vehicle rebates. Add them all up – oh, and another $1,000 thrown in by some dealers – and the MSRP of just under $34,000 gets brought down to less than $22,000 out of pocket. It makes that recent $900 price cut for the model seem pretty minor by comparison, doesn't it. Ford is looking to unload a bunch of 2014 model-year C-Max Energi models after sales, which started strong last year, tapered off in recent months. While Americans boosted C-Max Energi purchases by 18 percent last year to 8,433 units, that year-over-year sales gain had been 58 percent through last June. Meanwhile, January sales were down 16 percent to just 395 units. Ford finally issues recall for 230K minivans over rust problems
Sun, 10 Mar 2013The rust issue in the rear wheel wells of 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans has finally led to a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began an investigation into the matter in 2011, said investigation being upgraded to an engineering analysis a year later while NHTSA tried to figure out how many model years should be included in the assessment.
Ford has decided to recall all of the 230,000 minivans potentially affected, namely those sold in salt-belt states and countries like Canada. The excess rust in the rear wheel wells was also able to prevent the third-row seats from locking to the floor of the minivan. To repair the problem, owners can take their minivans to dealers, and the dealers will place new panels in the wheel wells, replace the third-row seat mounting brackets and relocate the latches to an area away from any corrosion.
Ford says it will begin notifying owners during the last week of March.
