1969 Ford Fairlane 500 - One Owner on 2040-cars
Lone Jack, Missouri, United States
One Owner, my GMA's only car. Bought new from my uncle at his Ford Dealership in Wilber, NE. Have original paperwork, owners card, owners manual, build sheet. Helping my dad sell it. It doesn't have Bluetooth or My Sync Ford technology, this is an old car. Its used, it runs, drives, and has a couple dents but not a lot of rust for its age. It has been in my dads shop sitting for the past 10 years. Gma passed in 2003 that is the last time it was licensed. I took my drivers test in the car. It has a 302 V8 and a 2 barrel carb. It starts and runs good. The park/neutral switch needs adjusting as you have to hold up the shift lever to crank the engine. All of the Chrome is there, all of the hubcaps. Even the original floor mats. Carpet is in descent shape. Front Seats have separated in the seams. Washer sprayer doesn't seem to work haven't looked into it. Dash Lights work. Headlights, turn signals, brights/dim work, switch works on floor. My dad has gotten it out about 3 or 4 times a year since 2003 and drives it up/down the road to stir up the oil in the car. No water leaks, but there are a few drips of oil on the floor so its not leak free. Its not horrible just a couple spots about the size of a baseball from sitting the past 8 weeks in my shop. I will start the bidding at the reserve so when it sells it sells. We have a clean title for the car. If you have any questions feel free to contact me I will be more than happy to answer any/all questions to the best of my ability and get any pictures for you also if you want something special. Happy Bidding!!!! I did not clean the outside of the car or engine compartment, it could use a good cleaning. It was a non smoker vehicle. |

FBI investigating recently fired Ford engineer for espionage
Fri, 25 Jul 2014Agents of the FBI are investigating a potential case of industrial espionage involving a recently fired Ford employee. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer had its world headquarters searched by FBI agents on July 11, and according to The Detroit News, had warrants to seize recording devices handed over to Ford by Sharon Leach, a now-former Ford engineer.
Leach, who had spent 17 years with the Blue Oval, was fired last month, after Ford Security relieved her of eight Sansa listening devices. The FBI got involved shortly after her dismissal, searching her home on June 20 and seizing some two dozen items, including computers, jump drives and financial records, according to warrants obtained by The News.
Ford has remained quiet on the matter, with spokeswoman Susan Krusel confirming that the automaker was working with the FBI as part of a "joint investigation," while declining to provide any additional details.
Ford announces bevy of recalls, 2 of which are recalls on recalls
Tue, 04 Nov 2014
Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.
