1968 Fairlane 500 fastback coup w/302 v8 and a c4 tran. factory color is ford gold (y) Two owner car, my grandfather and myself. engine runs great and transmission too. the tran. pan has a leak from over torque. pic. show surface rust. the only cancer I could find is on the rear wheel fender as shown and a little around the bolt holes where the front bench seat was anchored. The trunk has little surface rust. The car is in the beginning stages of restoration. Car has all-around drum brakes that where redone in 2000 with shoes. Back and front window where also replaced in 2000 to insure no leaks. Shocks where also replaced with Monroe shocks and front and back seats where replaced in 2000. Car still runs great just needs new tires and transmission pan gasket. ANY Questions just ask I do have more photos just cant figure out on how to sneak them on here so send me your email and I can send you the pictures. The body is straight and dent free. The car has new ball joints, tie rods, drum brakes with pads, brake cylinders, bushings. The seats where redone in 2000 and never used with factory seems. Original rims and caps still complete. All four windows roll down up and down, the hardware in the doors where mechanically fixed in 2000 for the windows. Custom fit stainless steal exhaust on car. New 2 barrel Autolite carburetor, off road kit installed to prevent flooding in high mountains was installed in carb. Instrument cluster works great. All you would have to do is bolt everything back together and change her fluids and you would be able to drive her. Green primer was used too keep the weather from touching the body. THE LAST TIME I WILL PUT THE CAR UP FOR SALE... SO I WILL NOT GO BELOWE $2500.00. LIKE I SAID LAST TIME UP FOR SALE THE GONE....

Ford Escort is ready to focus on the Chinese market
Mon, 21 Apr 2014Ford officially revived the Escort name in China, showing of the new, four-door compact at the Beijing Motor Show. Painted in a stylish brown-bronze, the new sedan wears a number of global Ford styling cues while sharing its platform with the Ford Focus.
Power for the new model comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder, although Ford doesn't specify just how much power is on offer, simply saying that the fuel economy of the new mill will be "outstanding." It's unclear what transmission will be distributing the engine's power, although based on the images we've seen, the Escort will definitely offer a two-pedal setup.
The layout of the cabin is fairly clean, although as we mentioned in our initial post on the new Escort, it's a decidedly sparser environment than we've grown use to in US-spec Fords of late. If anything, it's like a weird blend of current Ford switchgear with an overall look that reminds us of older Ford layouts. Still, it looks like a comfortable way of moving five people about without too much fuss. There's ample space both front and rear, and a rather spacious trunk.
MyFord Touch getting second update, extended warranty
Wed, 28 Nov 2012There is no doubt that Ford has had its hands full fielding complaints with its MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems these days, but looking to keep its customers happy, Ford is once again upgrading its infotainment systems and extending the warranties. Despite having just sent out updates for its systems back in March, Automotive News says that customers are still complaining about the speed and ease of use.
Vehicles with MyFord Touch will now get a five-year, unlimited-mile warranty, while the MyLincoln Touch will have a six-year, unlimited-mile warranty. Previously, the systems were covered under basic warranties (three-year, 36,000-mile for Ford and four-year, 60,000-miles for Lincoln).
What is being referred to as "version 3.5" for the MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems will be mailed out (or downloaded) next month for owners of cars without navigation and in January for cars with nav. Owners of hybrids, plug-ins and electric vehicles will get the update sometime in the first quarter of next year.
Does the new 2015 Ford Mustang have a burnout control system?
Tue, 10 Dec 2013Whether it's lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring or automatic emergency braking, most of the electronic systems we see emerging on new vehicles focus on safety. But there are some there just for enthusiasts. We're talking about systems like automatic throttle blipping for perfect downshifts, or launch control to get that textbook acceleration from a standstill. But the latest system could prove just the opposite of the latter.
Although it has given us most of the details, Ford is still keeping certain elements of its new Mustang secret. But emerging reports may have the skinny on one system which Ford is trying is darnedest to keep under its hat for the time being. That, according to unnamed sources cited by Motor Authority, is burnout control.
The system is reportedly designed to help novices execute the perfect smokey burnout - sort of like launch control, but specifically the opposite. The system could, according to elaborative speculation, lock the front brakes while spooling up the engine to optimal revolutions before dumping (or indicating the driver to do dump) the clutch. A cloud of tire smoke and a long pair of skid marks would then ensue.
