This is my '67 Ford Fairlane 500 GT clone. It has a 351 Windsor, lots of chrome, that was rebuilt with a mild cam, headers, aluminum intake and 4 bbl carburetor. The engine and C4 automatic transmission are a matching drive train out of a '71 Mustang. The transmission, with B&M shifter and shift kit, was rebuilt to stock specs 1 year ago and shifts perfectly. The car is fun to drive with power steering, power front disc brakes and AM/FM CD radio. The disc brake booster was rebuilt 4 years ago. I've had the car up to 75 mph and it drives smoothly with no shake, shimmy or pulling. It has true dual exhaust with aftermarket mufflers, although I don't know the brand, I can say it has a nice deep throaty tone. The car starts right up and drives impressively. The bright red interior was redone 4 years ago and is in excellent condition. Glass is very good, no cracks or chips, and the windows roll up and down easily. All electric items (wipers, lights, radio, turn signals, gas gauge etc.) work great. The body is rust free and was repainted also 4 years ago. The paint job is good "driver" quality and is fine for local show and shine car shows but would need to be refinished for serious showing. The car does not leak in the passenger or trunk areas and does not have that "musty smell" many older cars have. There are a few "blisters" over the left rear wheel well that can be ground off and a small area on the trunk lid needs attention. The Tiger Paw ASC radials are mounted on 14" Magnum 500 wheels and are almost new and have lots of tread left. I refitted the entire power steering system with new hoses and pump about 18 months ago. New Heavy Duty front coil springs and shocks were installed a year ago. The rear leaf springs were also replaced a year ago with new springs that offer a 3" lift and new shocks.Headlight and tail light bezels were rechromed and polished . Included with car I have new O.E.M door handles, trunk boards, plaid trunk mat, door scuff plates, a very nicely reconditioned complete bumper jack and an extra Magnum 500 wheel for a spare. Bumpers are in good condition but would need to rechromed for serious showing. I've had the car for 3 years and I'm preparing to retire and have other non-automotive projects to work on. Thanks for looking. Vehicle sold "as is" with no stated or implied warranty.

Ford driving Alaskan maniac rams toddler-carrying SUV
Mon, Jul 25 2016A couple from Anchorage had a frightening traffic encounter when they were followed and repeatedly rammed by a stranger in a pickup truck. Grace Bernert, her boyfriend, and his two-year-old daughter were returning home from a trip to downtown Anchorage when they noticed a blue, 2001 Ford F-150 following closely behind them. "The guy was so close, we couldn't see his headlights," Bernert told KTVA. Bernert, who was riding shotgun, pulled out her phone to record the truck when it struck the rear end of their Acura SUV. That's when she called 911. Bernert's boyfriend tried to lose the F-150 in the Sullivan Arena parking lot, then drove to a local Ford dealer's parking lot where he drove through a maze of new Ford pickups in an attempt to shake their assailant. "We started doing circles around the brand new Fords because we thought the truck wouldn't be able to turn as fast as we would," said Bernert. "We were right, but the guy didn't care. He just kept hitting the new fords and backing up, coming after us." The truck continued to follow them, ramming the Acura again and again. Bernert estimates that F-150 driver struck their SUV between five and seven times, and hit numerous new trucks in the dealership parking lot. Eventually, they ducked into a nearby neighborhood where they managed to lose the F-150 and called 911. Bernert told KTVA that she believes they were targeted but doesn't know why. "The guy was either some random sick person who didn't care, or somebody who knew us and didn't care there was a kid in the car," she said. Anchorage Police arrived shortly after the couple escaped the F-150 and filed a report about the incident. They are currently investigating. Recent Video:
MotorWeek relives '80s coupes with Dodge Daytona, Ford Escort EXP
Thu, Aug 6 2015Get ready for a wave of nostalgia and the rapid realization of the huge progress in performance cars over the last 30 years. For its latest Retro Review, MotorWeek takes a look back at two, front-wheel drive coupes from the '80s that seem to have entirely vanished from the roads today. Both the 1986 Dodge Daytona CS and the 1986.5 Ford Escort EXP were considered affordable, sporty options in their day, but the passage of time hasn't been kind to either of their specs. The Daytona certainly looks the part of a performance machine with a body that's reminiscent of other '80s coupes, like the third-gen Chevrolet Camaro. However with 146 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque from a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, acceleration wasn't exactly a strong suit. MotorWeek complained about copious torque steer, as well. The optional CS suspension upgrade package on this Daytona was apparently a nod to Carroll Shelby who was working with Dodge at the time. If anything, the Escort EXP withstands the test of time even worse. As a two-seat coupe, you might have expected Ford's engineers to really turn up the performance to fit the sporty image that the exterior conveyed. That didn't really happen, and depending on which model buyers ordered, they got either 86 horsepower with a 1.9-liter engine or the "high-output" version of that mill with 108 hp.
Ford mulling EcoSport for US? [w/poll]
Mon, 03 Jun 2013"We certainly have that ability. We're studying it very, very closely." Those are the words of Jim Farley, global head of sales, marketing, service at Ford. The investigation Farley is referring to is the possibility of selling the company's new EcoSport crossover in America.
The diminutive Fiesta-based EcoSport was developed for emerging markets like Brazil and, more recently, China, but it apparently may have a future in the States, where it would form a new entry-level rung below the Escape in Ford's already robust crossover stable. Ford has big plans for its tiny CUV - Farley tells Automotive News that the EcoSport is only available in 10 countries right now, but by 2017, its distribution will have mushroomed to 62 countries. At the time the second-generation model launched at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show as a 2013 model, Ford said the EcoSport would eventually be sold in nearly 100 markets worldwide.
The Brazilian- and Indian-assembled EcoSport is available with a variety of gasoline-powered engines, but the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder EcoBoost giving 118 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque would seem to be the powertrain of choice for America, as it was recently confirmed for the stateside 2014 Fiesta.
