1967 Ford Fairlane 500 3.3l on 2040-cars

Year:1967 Mileage:59000

Regretfully for sale today I am offering a very nice 1967 Ford Fairlane 500  survivor. I am the second owner of this car. It was purchased new in 1967 at a dealership in Chicago Illinois. The car is 99% rust free with the exception of what you see in the picture on the passenger side rear quarter of the car and the passenger side torque box. The trunk area is 100% rust free as well as the doors and trunk lid. This car is equipped with a 200 ci engine that runs great. It also has an add on under dash air conditioner that has been converted to 134a type freon and works well. The car was repainted in the early 90's and I would call the paint job a "nice driver" not "show" by any means. The interior of the car is very nice with one minor crack in the original dash pad and a few holes in the headliner. If the car does not sell I have it scheduled to go in for a headliner replacement. The car is pretty straight with a few slight dings and imperfections. I have the original 14' wheels and tires as well as the dog dish style hub caps that go with the car as well as the bill of sale from when the car was sold new. I do not have to sell the car but I don't get the opportunity to enjoy it as much as I would like and storage is an issue so I would like to offer it to someone who will appreciate it for what it is. Please feel free to ask any questions and please keep any negative comments or low ball offers to yourself. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

Project Ugly Horse: Part VIII

Fri, 17 May 2013

Now With More EcoBoost
There's an EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in there somewhere, and it's headed straight for Ugly Horse.
For the second time in my life, I'm staring at an engine in the back of a truck with no concept of how to get it safely into the garage by my lonesome. The first time this happened, I dragged home a $300 International 345 V8 in the back of my Scout Terra only to discover that the bounds of my manliness terminated well before my ability to muscle that 800-pound cast iron block out of the pickup bed.

Ford vandalizes the SEMA Show floor with 2014 Transit Connect

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

The Ford booth here at SEMA is practically a 1970s throwback with all these customized vans sitting front and center. And we're completely fine with that. Take the black and yellow (black and yellow, black and yellow) 2014 Transit Connect from Mobsteel above. It's got a great stance, sits on steel wheels and has a pretty cool paint job and graphics package to boot.
Of course, that's not the only van you can see at the Ford booth. In fact, there are 10 Transit Connect vans on display from Ford here at SEMA, and you can see them all in our live gallery of high-res images above. Then, if you want to know more about each specific model, feel free to scroll down to read all about these vans in the official press release from Ford.

Ford invests $682 million in Edge-producing Canadian facility

Sun, 22 Sep 2013

Ford announced that it's investing $682 million in its Oakville assembly plant in Ontario, Canada, to make it a global manufacturing plant, which the automaker also says secures 2,800 jobs there. Including this injection of cash, Ford has invested over $2 billion in Canada in the last decade, starting with nearly $1 billion for Oakville in 2004, and over $570 million for its Essex Engine Plant in 2010.
The move to make Oakville a global manufacturer of Ford vehicles means, "If consumers suddenly shift their buying habits, we can seamlessly change our production mix without having to idle a plant," says Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas.
Ford says that the latest investment will help it meet North American demand for the Oakville-produced Edge crossover, which is on track this year to beat 2007's US sales record of 130,000 Edges. The Ford Flex and Lincoln MKX and MKT are also manufactured at the plant.
