1963 Ford Fairlane Ranch Wagon Built Into A 3/4 Ton Truck on 2040-cars
Tucson, Arizona, United States
Road worthy, but does need to have the rear end rebuilt professionally. 4 Speed automatic transmission is completely mechanical in operation. No electronics involved in operation of transmission. You can have the original Turbo 400, that was in this Chevy long bed truck chassis. Rear Sections of 2 door Fairlane car also comes with this. Not just rear quarter panels, but a car that was cut into sections. New door locks and keys, along with new window regulator rollers. Original door locks work. New items will have to be installed. This wagon is complete. Nothing missing. Several odds and ends come with it. I built this vehicle into a truck. Corvette dual diaphragm power assist 4 wheel disk brakes. Chevy 350/Turbo 700R4. Heavy duty custom built drive shaft. 10.5 Corporate rear end, mounted onto trailing arm suspension with coil springs. Front end is 3/4 Ton. Power steering. Custom built 4 coil radiator, with separate transmission cooler. I am now a Partially Disabled Army Veteran, and having a hard time of completing this project. Handles very well, and brakes are proportioned properly. Wagon doesn't lean much or sway in turns. Takes bumps and railroad tracks level and sure. U-Turns within 1.5 lane width. One finger control of steering wheel. Title is CLEAN 1963 Ford Fairlane. I started this project in 2000. Local Pick Up and Drive Away.

Ford hybrids getting update to improve fuel economy
Tue, 16 Jul 2013Ford has announced that it is introducing "calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid."
We can speculate that these changes are at least due in part to lawsuits over mileage claims of hybrid vehicles. The automaker is enhancing 2013 models starting in August by raising their electric cruising speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph, optimizing the use of active grille shutters and the climate control system, shortening the engine warm-up period by 50 percent and reducing electric fan speed to minimize the fan's energy consumption.
It bears mentioning that Ford is doing pretty well in the US electrified vehicle market this year. The company claims to have grown its share in the segment by 12 points to 16 percent while taking a high number of Toyota Prius trade-ins in the process. Conversely, Toyota has experienced a five-percent drop in new-Prius sales over the same period. Additionally, Ford states that it has increased its share of the US vehicle market by one percent this year, more than any full-line automaker.
2015 Ford Mustang specs revealed, GT to pack 435 HP
Thu, 17 Jul 2014The 2015 Ford Mustang sounds great so far - at least on paper. Ford has just announced specs for the latest version of the iconic pony car in Dearborn, telling Autoblog that it will pump out as much as 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque from its 5.0-liter V8.
Those gaudy figures power the naturally aspirated GT model, and they easily eclipse the "more than" 420 hp and 390 lb-ft that Ford originally estimated.
The 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder makes 310 hp and 320 lb-ft, and it's the first turbo Mustang since the 1986 SVO.
Chip Ganassi Racing switches to the Ford EcoBoost-powered Riley Daytona Prototype
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced yesterday at Ford's SEMA press conference that it will field a Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 in the 2014 United SportsCar Championship (USCC). CGRFS is the second team to commit to the new Ford-Riley car, behind Michael Shank Racing (which has already used the racecar to break a 26-year-old top-speed record at Daytona International Speedway).
"Over the last 10 seasons we have been able to experience a great deal of success in Grand-Am," Chip Ganassi says, "and now with the dawn of the new United SportsCar Championship we feel that Ford power will be a key ingredient to writing the next chapter of our sports car program."
In the last Grand-Am season, CGRFS raced a BMW-Riley Daytona Prototype. The team has won seven Daytona Prototype championships, all in the past ten years. Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas return as the team's prototype co-drivers, and will attend their maiden race in the Ford-Riley at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.
