1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964 Galaxie Fairlane on 2040-cars
Atchison, Kansas, United States
This 1960 Fairlane was a middle Texas car that still wears 80% of it's orginal paint. The body is completly rust free and has never been rusted & repaired. It is not perfect but is pretty damn close. The interior has been replaced and is really nice. The car is orginial 6 cylinder and has been replaced with a real 1962 406 with 3x2's. The 406 has a 428 Cobra Jet crank, rods, & pistons. The bore is 0.30 over which makes it a 433 cubic inch. It has a Ford Muscle parts C8AX-D cam with solid lifters and 1.76 rocker arms. The transmission was a 61 390 3 speed left on the column to mimick a 60's Super Stocker. The Chassis is also in really good condition with new brakes, lines, and suspension parts. The odometer shows 98,428 miles, but true miles are unknown, but by looking I think they are correct. If you are looking for something completly different that the Mustang, Camero, that everyone has then this is the car for you. The price I am asking is what the 406 engine is probably worth. It also has the orginial 406 shorty headers and a new aluminized 3" exhaust system! REALLY SOUNDS GOOD! The drivers door glass has a crack and some of the side trim have dents, but could be repaired without much trouble. If you have any questions please call Wayne at 913-367-0184 before 7:00 pm CST. Thanks for Looking!

Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout
Mon, 03 Nov 2014Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.
PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
Honda giving away free Civics in Forza Horizon to celebrate launch
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Just a friendly reminder from Honda: The Honda Challenge Pack DLC is now available for Forza Horizon. To reward you for the trouble of pressing a few buttons on your Xbox controller, you'll get the 2013 Honda Civic Coupe, an HPD Rally Fit and a 1986 Honda Civic Si Coupe in your garage, and you'll get them free. The event of the new DLC has also kicked off a photo contest that will reward someone with an Xbox 360 console wrapped in a Honda Civic Si theme.
Otherwise, the word "Challenge" keeps coming up because of the chance to run an online race against IndyCar driver Scott Dixon. The track for that digital throwdown has already been decided by Xbox players who voted before January 8. Yet it's not too late to hop into the Honda section in Xbox Live and lay down a time fast enough for a shot at the title "The Driver That Shellacked Scott Dixon," and meeting the man in person.
Check out the press release from Honda below, and the sweetness that is the 1986 Civic Si in the gallery above.
