This gorgeous Fairlane 500 Convertible. It is as good or better than the day it rolled off the showroom floor. This is one of kind and possibly the best.
The engine, transmission, brakes, have all been rebuilt and the car has been driven less than 4000 miles. Even the brake springs have been painted the correct color. The bumpers and all chrome are either NOS or have been re- chromed. The power top works well and has the top boot that is stored in its bag in the trunk.
The interior is new including the dash being genuine original Ford with the logo stamped on the bottom side of the pad. The carpet is red front and back and is new. It has the Ford factory A/M radio.
The trunk is clean and has the correct jack and handle. The tires are new 750 x 14 Good Year bias. This convertible has the correct Torch Red, and Blue tone white paint for 1957. The top bows are white.
The exhaust tips are original factory Ford and point down so the bumper does not get discolored. The exhaust is new and is stainless steel. It has the correct rear radio antenna.
The engine is a 312 Thunderbird Special with a 4 barrell carburetor. The car has power steering and all hoses have been replaced. A new battery has recently been installed. It has the cruise-a-ma tic transmission. This Fairlane has no rust, and the frame has been painted. The underneath side of the car looks as good as the top side. This is a museum quality Fairlane 500 Convertible.

Amid Mulally rumors, Bill Ford praises company's deep bench

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

Bill Ford went on the offensive to combat the rumors that CEO Alan Mulally would leave Dearborn for Steve Ballmer's vacated position leading Microsoft, adding that even if the 68-year-old, former Boeing exec were to depart, the Ford executive team is in a good place.
"I'm happy [Mulally] is going to stick around. But we also feel really good about where we are in terms of succession," Ford told Bloomberg TV, according to Automotive News. Rumors first cropped up about Mulally leaving Ford when AllThingsD speculated that he was in the running, early last month. In that same report, which you can read here, Ford's board of directors reportedly okayed the CEO stepping down ahead of his planned retirement in 2014.
That opened the floodgates, culminating in a report from a few days ago that the rumors over Ballmer's successor just might be true. The story is especially troubling, as Ford hasn't had Mulally under contract, according to AN. "He's here as long as he and I would like it to happen," Ford said, "We're also cognizant of training the next generation and getting them ready to go as well."

Ford Focus Electric and ST recalled over lighting issue

Mon, 12 Aug 2013

Ford is recalling 6,308 units of the 2012 and 2013 Focus Electric and 2013 Focus ST that were fitted with HID headlights because a "wiring incompatibility" could keep the front side marker lights from working. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall should begin in the middle of this month, after which owners can take their cars to dealers to have the wiring assembly repaired free of charge.
You can find more information in the NHTSA bulletin posted below.

Leno talks racing with NASCAR racer Joey Logano

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

Jay Leno has to be under significant pressure knowing the appetite his fans have for a new Jay Leno's Garage video every week. This time, Jay takes a break from his usual format (something he's been doing with some frequency as of late) and goes back to his roots as a talk show host. There's no classic in the garage his episode with an interesting story to tell and a sumptuous exhaust note. Instead, the focus is purely on interviewing 23-year-old NASCAR racer Joey Logano about what it's like to be a racecar driver in his Ford Fusion.
Logano started racing at the tender age of six and has risen up the circle-track ranks to the big show of the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The two of them talk about what it's like to compete in the sport today compared to yesteryear, and Logano shares some racing anecdotes. Of course, they also get into what it's like to be on the racetrack controlling a car with about 850 horsepower, a four-speed manual transmission and brakes without any power boost. Scroll down to watch the video.
